Oh snap Rudy hit 370K after being stuck at 369K for a long ass time. Pretty bullish honestly
for 7 or 8 years now rudys content hasnt changed whatsoever meanwhile tolarian has more diversified and casual friendly channel, im honestly suprised rudy got to almost 400k by just screaming about inked cardboard for 8y
Unless MTG investors buy into grading cards these boxes will never appreciate at a fast enough rate. That is why pokemon does so great. They dont over print and the player base is obsessed with grading cards.
That is because no one actually cares about playing their pokemon cards, they are almost exclusively for wall art.
And everybody said Streets of New Capenna was worth sh*t and ... It's still worth sh*t.
Jokes on you i bought 2 new capenna draft pack for 3.33 each and pulled Xander's Lounge and Otawara Soaring City a few days ago. I will never have luck like this again
@@EastToWestTCG brainfart both packs were 3.33 each. I got 1 draft new capenna & 1 draft neon dynasty both had good land pulls
Those beautiful Khans of Tarkir boxes
Sold time spiral for $189 I believe...
@@MTG69 it was $567/3 boxes shipped. I believe Rudy only offered a 3 box option, but can't remember exactly.
STAY THE COURSE….!!!! Shot Ruby! I’ve been collecting sealed boxes since I first started watching your videos in ‘17. I now have over 30 sealed boxes, some reserve list cards, duels, and four horsemen. I love this hobby, and I love your videos! Keep up the good work bro 🤩🙏 Much respect from New Zealand 🫡
How have things worked out for you? Is it worth holding? How much are they worth now since when you initially bought them?
Some things have gone down, but mostly up. I think of Aether Revolt as a god example of up. SOI is another good one 😊
First rule of reselling- you don't make top dollar selling as a lot. Some ppl crazy about certain sets and you make money selling individually. Sealed isn't worthless if selling one by one
I know very little about mtg but it's interesting that the two most expensive Collector boosters in this video are collaborations with other well-known IPs (speaking on Fallout and LotR). glad I was able to get a little bit of those two sets.
Anyone waiting for the vid where Rudy's son decides to get back at his dad by ripping open all his sealed and swimming in packs like Uncle Scrooge, ripping packs and flip and ripping rares, then uploads a epic vid documenting it? And then the channel just goes quiet and is just an artifact of time, I'm kinda here for that.
If you don't own a warehouse like Rudy where do you store all of this stuff? My "dungeon" is getting full lol
I keep a lot of my stock at my girlfriend's boyfriend's house. Very nifty.
@@KrepsyK I currently have 2 closets full of video games and collectibles and my extra room aka "dungeon" is getting there
Don't forget to flatten your boxes. The cards are already flat, you're mostly storing air if you don't!
1:20 my little yellow baby. Love that damn set, man. Thank you Rudy for picking her up and zooming!
How is limiting print runs and turning what was slowly returning to it's origins as a card game back into a speculation market for people with too much money and not enough brain a good thing?
Thats a I just back into magic collection. I literally have the same collection nearby. Except I collect set boosters with anything that has them available.
Love seeing random assortments of sealed booster boxes, looks cool and reminds you of the history
That's a nice collection of boxes. A bit of everything, makes up for a nice display still.
Commander Legends what a fun vibe that set was
No way the collector didnt lose money on this sale. None of those boxes have done more than 30 percent gains. Most 30 percent losses. Rudy pays 69 cents on the dollar dor collections
@@CGoody564 who said its someones full collection? People sell at profit all the time?
@@skrufy11 He stated that it's from a collection buyout like 20 seconds into the video.
@@skrufy11 it was a collection buyout, he literally says so. BuyOUT, meaning buying everything. You really have no idea what you're talking about. Otherwise, this would just be a typical purchase. This isn't a collectors overstock.
People sell their collections at a loss when they have financial issues, or at an estate sale/auction after one passes away. No one sells collections for profit UNLESS they're complete, or there is something significantly special about it that sets it apart from a typical collection.
Finally a video title that makes sense
When you look at base ball cards in the 40's 50's 60' and what the midle is for all cards now over printed over priced doomed to fail
This must have been a bruuuuuutal loss.
What I don’t understand about people like Rudy, and whoever else, who purchase extremely old sealed products, are you sure it’s going to sell? Like, I understand mtg is insanely volatile and speculative when it comes to collecting to invest, but who actually WANTS these? Like 99% of the cards in those boxes, total, are worthless except for maybe Pauper. Idk, maybe me?
Feel like people who buy the older sets want the opening experience of that set for whatever personal reason . Or keep it sealed and display as a capture of time. Each set has its own story to tell as far as what everyone thought at the time or so and so pulled serialized card that one time. It’s a memory to have and maybe open one day or if some emergency happens and need quick cash can sell to friend or throw online. Having an asset on hand typically earning $$$ over time is better than having cash in the bank and losing to debasement and inflation. NOT financial advice 😂
People enjoy drafting old sets. You get a whole night to experience the set by drafting and playing and you get to keep the cards for your collection. Think about drafting even a $500 box with 7 other friends. Thats $62.50 for a whole night of entertainment. Thats still cheaper than going out for drinks at a bar.
Nostalgia combined with a unique limited draft format. A box of Tempest Exodus Mirage all around 2K a box, imagine drafting that with your friends- the experience itself is priceless forget the cards individual value we are going back to 1997!
If it's worthless, send it to me. I'll dispose of it.
Imagine you are a casual player, wanting to get your hands on a new set (like LOTR Mordor Commander Deck) and its sold out after a few days and you dont get to play the cards. And then there are guys like this ... kinda makes me sick tbh, its a card game ...
That's the least beat up pallet jack I've ever seen.
Thoughts on Strixhaven? Really got me back into MTG after a solid 15+ years.
I like the set. Many of the cards work best in a sealed environment but there's a few commander cards. It has some interesting color pie bending cards too.
It's fun as hell to draft, I bought a couple cases and my draft group rips a box every 6 months. It's Harry Potter in MTG!
love the scroll card arts. bought all of them. including replacing all y demonic tutors. those arts are so fire
Hey rudy, just wanted to let you know that all shipping info should be covered either digitally or physically (not blurred). This is including any barcodes / qr codes as they hold A LOT of personal information for both sender and receiver.
Hey Rudy!
I've a few boxes of OG Ixalan and Eternal Masters. What do you think about those products? I believe i never heard you talk about it.
Can someone please give me a legitimate site that sells booster boxes for decent prices? I’m tired of Amazon sending opened and resealed packs with no rares.
Engaging in things that don't feel good. Like my quest for 100 alpha living walls. I'm at 87, it's hard, it's not fun anymore, but I still buy them.
Amazing, this is like my collection but smaller and without all the vintage box m,i love it! Thanks for sharing Rudy!
Rudy Review: Good prices, fast shipping. A++ Patreon seller!
12:00 sadly, I think this is just the result of working with customer service in almost any industry: tourism, service industry, etc…. And why they have so much turnover: it’s stressful and exhausting to deal with people =\
Great collection, wish the seller could have held on to them a little longer.
Nice vid :) enjoyed the sincerity Mr. Taco Tuesday
Love you rudy. God bless you!!!❤❤❤❤
Thanks for the Baldur's Gate rip😅
Didn’t speak of Thrones of Eldraine? Why?
Too bad there were no comments about the Unfinity box. That is a story of a set that went to crap. Although, I do not think that anyone had much hope in it even though the Galaxy Foil shock lands were supposed to save it.
Paradoxically ,it probably would have sold more if they just made all the cards silver boarder except the basics and shocks. At least the whole fiasco with stickers and attractions wouldn't have been a thing.
So more than $10k of stuff on the table vs. $10k in Reserved List cards? What would be better investment?
We are in a full on collapse , so ALL cards are going to tank . Those collectable one off cards you think are worth thousands , unopened boxes etc etc are also going to tank big time .
Welcome!
Makes no sense to be how sum of the best sets didnt take off like u said, dom rastered, dom united, crimson vow, midnight hunt, love all these sets n i bought alot of these sets, cuz i liked them even if orhers didnt.
when these are worthless, send me some displays :)
Don’t tell me this is true!!!!!!😮😢
No Urzas?
Omg I love cardboard!!!!
Would love to hear your input on some digimon products! ❤
Just here to agree they are worthless. Was looking at prices today on products I used to hold before I switched t Pokemon. It is wild how many booster boxes now sell below $100. Dead investment.
Cheaper cards is good for players. I hope the speculators stay in Pokemon
Love Tarkir :)
That fallout cb shrink wrap looks sus.
I collect for mostly the love of the game, but if honest i do also collect for the value of cards,in whicj wotc seem to kill tat wit every reprint.
A lot of boxes have invert EV right now.
Good opportunity to buy into some 2010-2017s
its people like u that are ez to get got bc u think negative ev boxes means its gonna have more value in the future its just not how it works if the cards inside are worthless so is the box
@@RLGMiniMe it would seem the implication was to buy and crack the box to open more value than one spent on it, then sell the singles for profit... E...V... Right?
Shout out to Flipside gaming, one of the best besides Rudy's Patron accounts.
Sealed is worthless when you make bad choices of course. No brainer.
You guys. Just. Buy. Something.
I went all in on Metazoo... YOU OWE ME RUDY!!!!
@@Mactakun but he pumped it so much, made it out to be the next big thing... Now I can't afford my house payments!

Kept waiting for him to address the title… I still have no idea how it’s relevant
Throughout and at the end of the video he addresses it in subtextual language. Basically, buying and selling sealed product for profit, especially en masse, is not advisable because it's difficult and unpredictable.
This is why collecting cards fails in 2024 the model changed
Yeah, it's worthless send it my way
If anyone wants to unload a sealed lot like from the beginning of the video shoot me a message, I'll buy everything you have.
This sounds like you're having a terrible time. This whole video sounds is filled unhappiness.
Not sure what I was supposed to takeaway from this other than I don't want to play this game (the market, not the tcg).
Nooooooo
I love these types of videos.
Its not a collection. It's hoarding with no clear goal.
Rudy!!!! Greed Monsters, Evil Investors, and ....3.696969% Women want to know. Did the seller lose or profit from this sale?
About what you said at the last segment of this video Rudy, it made me realize WHY you got into the hobby of Paper Trading Card Games / Collectible Card Games and why LGSs are the way they are. It was because you wanted to learn the human psychology behind it all as much as we do.
Sealed Taco's are worthless
all my sealed product gets hit by a box cutter so naturally i have to open it. we need a revolution of safety knives.
That’s TS remastered, not original TS.
Khans of Tarkir to the moon!
I'd love to see LOTR or Fallout to reach 1k. Be cool to see a collector box get there.
Final Fantasy will .. thats the only new set I'll be purchasing.
He goes on ranting about something stupid then suddenly hit you with something that would make you think. Never change Rudy.
3:20 my man just said 2020 was OG 👴 ouch
He’s got good advice. You might even be able to make money off it, if you can parse the sarcasm.
I woulda bought it for 1% over Rudy. Seller messed up.
Only Timmy's say that type of stuff! ❤❤❤
Rudy where is the digimon? Talk to us
Makes perfect sense. Nerds tend to be salty and emotional probably cause they were raised by single moms
Rudy's the 🐐 GOAT😅
Yeah nothing too crazy. Just a dreams amount of sealed collector and set boxes.
Magic is used to open and play 😂😂 not the stock market 😂 yes and maybe the first boxes are worth a lot because nobody was collecting 😂
Rudy’s basement taco stand vault is better hidden than the pirate bay basement lab
1990s comic books hold up in value 😂
imagine your problem is space for collector boxes. i wished
Do you mind handing out some of that worthless sealed stuff? 👀
😂 Rudy buying from his patrons of hoping people buy more magic cause Rudy is a Hasbro shill
Man… I don’t think someone will want those for 300-400 dollars, there are so many new collections.. sad time for mtg
Everyone is so caught up with the new thing no one buys the old stuff aside from investors. Even if it's something nostalgic Wizards will reprint it (Ravnica Remastered).
That's a truly enviable amount of sealed booster boxes, I will admit.
flipside gaming 🤯
Timmy investing in a nutshell. Buys a lot of crap over the years, then needs money quick and realises that it's too much work to sell all that garbage individually and sells to Don Rudy for 50%
-$10k with a smile!
To be fair, it’s closer to 60/70%, besides the exaggerated numbers you’re practically correct. That being said, having access to that kind of liquidity when life kicks you in the balls can come in clutch. I’d say he got about 80ish to 70% of his money back, depending on how good of a deal he got on these boxes. I’d say Rudy “wins” in these situations, but he doesn’t really sell any of it. All in all I hope the seller was able to get the cash needed to get him/3% her situation. Hopefully it was a house buying situation and not a medical emergency, I think we can all agree to that.
@@FamousJX You know what's really liquid when I need liquidity? My index funds and monkey market account, you know, actual investments not children's game pieces lol.

To argue anything, would simply be stating the obvious, (place all investment funds into the s&p 500 and wait 10/20/50 years). It’s a sure thing.
