Thank you for taking the time for this, I picked up two for the price you paid for a few years back, only one had an issue with the timing mechanism. Now the lens for this camera is very nice and you can also mount other lenses on this camera like Pentacon 50 1.8 which I have on one of mine. As for the Olympus lens, I like the 40 1.4 very nice images.
No worries! I’m glad you liked it. I sold mine a few years back to fund purchasing some other cameras. The camera seems more popular nowadays that when I bought it five years ago. I seem to see a lot more bodies and lenses up for sale here in the UK. Like I said in the video I had to import mine from Japan as there weren’t any as far as I could find anywhere here. I know there are 3rd party adapters but supposedly there were some Olympus branded ones too, I never was able to shoot with anything other than the 38mm, I always wanted the 40!
Awesome, I just picked up a Pen EE3 for $24 and I love it. Perfect companion to my Trip 35 and F3. These look fantastic but are a little too expensive for me.
The Zenit Surprise is a system M42 mount half frame camera too. It's primary design was medical use, but might be fun to try. I considered it before my Pen D, but I trust the Japanese sellers a little more than FSU sellers
Did you find that the viewfinder was never quite focused and you have to sort of compensate and take the shot when its the nearest to focused you can see. Or is yours completely crisp in the viewfinder. Great video by the way!
My viewfinder is slightly more than dim, it feels like the finder has been nudged inside, I have tried to slide it back into place, which very slightly helped but it is still out of focus. It definitely needs a service, its not in the best shape at all, but I can't complain as I only paid close to 1 hundred from a UK seller, which is a dream. How much did it cost to get a full service for you? Thanks again.
