Snow needs getting snow shovels to clear the road, or better still have a big sack of salt sprinkled on drive path. Your car tyres should be change all your wheels to winter tyres , if not you might slide and hit something.

Just so you know every body finances are not the same. For majority of people it is more cheaper to buy a used house and renovate it rather than building and if God almighty tarries he would bless them the more to be able to build their own house in the future.
