    When Jesus was on Earth, people struggled with his divinity. Now He’s ascended, we struggle with his humanity. Jonathan brought a great underscoring to this much needed attribute

    In 2004 as a young Christian I asked God how He felt about people who rejected His message and turned away from Him. One hour later three huge, intense waves of extremely deep grief washed over me, lasting at least half an hour. I have never before or since ever, felt that massive amount of personal grief. Every last tear in my body flowed out and my nasal passages also ran dry. What happened? I simply asked the Lord how He felt about those who rejected Him. He gave me an extremely graphic and personal answer one hour later. He doesn't want to lose one precious soul to the enemy and grieves deeply for each lost one. Ps, My tee shirt was soaked with my tears and my spaghetti dinner went cold. Ask the Lord into your life, He loves each one, and sheds tears over the lost. Your life will never be the same again, He will bless, guide, strengthen and protect every one of his precious children. I know, I experienced His immense grief over personal rejection. He longs to see your face, not your back. Please don't dissapoint Him, you will never regret that first step in His direction. God bless you. 😇

      Thank you so much for sharing that experience. I have cried so many tears, but not as much and as intense as you had that day. God knows what we can handle. I am too emotional to handle that kind of grief so intensely. But having a relationship with Jesus Christ has made all the difference. Jesus is my LIFE! He is everything to me... Thank you so much for sharing. If anyone that isn't saved reads this, just give Jesus Christ one chance. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain!

    Brothers and sisters...we are either Born Again (John 3:3) or we're not. The day we truely cry out to Jesus Christ in repentance, and acknowledge that His work on the cross was more then enough to atone for our sin, then we will realize we can speak to Him DIRECTLY, and commune with Him daily. Being Born Again is an amazing supernatural miracle that occurs one time, and the day His grace comes upon us, we will be Born of the blessed Holy Spirit. Repent wherever you are today, and turn to Christ ALONE for Salvation. ❤

    I am really amazed at how The Chosen is praised by Catholics and Protestants both. As a faithful Catholic revert - having spent 8 years as a Presbyterian and still grateful for that time - and having spent years studying now, all of us Christians need to set aside our differences. Not that the differences are unimportant - they are very important to discuss openly and honestly. But in this evil day we need to unite in our Love for Christ and FIGHT the evil all around us.
    Even on this forum I find Christians lying about what each other believe... ENOUGH! Listen to each other! LOVE one another as Christ loves you!

    • @trinityespejo119
      @trinityespejo119 2 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      Is not set apart your differences but Jesus clearly says you will know them by their fruits. He also says in Matthew 25 that many will come and say, Lord in Your name we did this and did that but Jesus will respond, Depart from Me I do not know You! Jesus is looking for hearts willing to obey Him. He is looking for a relationship with Him. He want people Truly to get to know Him.
      John 14:15: “If ye love me, keep my commandments.” He wants obedience and obedience to His bible word.
      Matthew 15:8-9 These people draw near to Me with their mouth,
      And honor Me with their lips,
      But their hearts is far from Me.
      God is sooo real, they are many who are not willing to let goo for the cause of the Cross

    Jonathan's portrayal of Jesus, in my humble opinion, is beyond phenomenal. His eyes are everything! Everything that Jesus feels is in Jonathan's eyes. The scene where Jesus talks with Nicodemus and the scene with Little James. Watch those scenes and watch Jonathan's eyes. His mouth is speaking the lines, but his eyes convey the love and compassion that Jesus surely felt for all of humanity, especially those in his inner circle.

      The phariseeism in me(the little that I didn't know was still there lol) withheld me from watching The Chosen until a few weeks ago when the Holy Spirit led me to watch it and Jonathan's performance confirmed it. So true what you're saying about his eyes! Of course NO ONE could even match Jesus, but you can truly see the love of God in Jonathan's eyes. It is so clear that God's Hand is in this.
      I've watched a few interviews and videos with Dallas and their sincerity and humility is so obvious.
      Many, many people have stated that The Chosen led them to read their Bibles. While I was already deep into the Word, The Chosen has brought to me a newfound humility that I cannot explain and brings me to tears.
      God is SO GRACIOUS AND SO MERCIFUL!
      I'm very grateful for this project of Dallas, Jonathan, and team.

    As a born-again Christian that happens to be protestant, I loved Jonathan's expression 'unity in community.' I also loved the wonderful story of how God had been preparing him as a youth for this role and the significance this role would have in his adult life (not to mention the impact it would have on thousands, perhaps even millions of others!). That's Jesus-- the One who sees us even before we are even aware of Him. (John 1:48-50).

    • @glennryan646
      @glennryan646 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Olia Krist The Roman Catholic Church is not a denomination. Secondly, being born again is akin to putting on a robe, or as the bible puts it, a spotless garment, NOT a series of good feelings that are meant to serve self. St. John of the cross explains this quite clearly in his writings.

    • @glennryan646
      @glennryan646 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Olia Krist Why would I consult a false teacher about anything. No, your chosen authority has YOU in darkness. This is why you cannot present any argument, just feelings. If you have any substance, please present it.

    • @glennryan646
      @glennryan646 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Olia Krist Do you have an argument to present? Perhaps a quote? a snippet of video? Anything that caught your attention, rather than how you feel about a subject? Because this is the very reason why you are to avoid false teachers. They manipulate you with a feeling and not facts.

I also experienced clinical depression and anxiety throughout this period of time. I prayed when I didn’t know if I still believed in anything and God never failed me. My path was changed for the better because I was open and listened for God during my pain. I believe that He places opportunities in our path, but we must listen and choose them. Again in my opinion, I stress Jesus was completely different in his looks and authority. When he spoke to you, you really knew that authority exuded from him. When you know something, or someone is it not a fact? So is it not a fact that you yourself exist. Similar in many ways, but not in many other ways.

    Your work on The Chosen is nothing less than marvelous. Being a person of Catholic ascendency myself I can relate to the experience of knowing that passion for Christ that is described. Having fallen and succumbed to sin, and becoming a loathsome creature I now, too, can relate to the beauty and wonder of the forgiveness Christ has given even to a wretched creature like myself. Seeing how Jesus is as a man, as one of us, helps me to personalize my walk with our Saviour Jesus as one of those he rose back to life in God’s will… …at least as much as can be done with one such as myself. I love the energy “The Chosen” has put into my faith and how it brings Jesus to life for me. It helps me to “see” what and know why I pray. Thanks for a lot of truly great work.

    I want to share about my near-death-experience together with my deceased daughter. It's a NDE story about the way our lives are judged and measured and analyzed by ETERNITY. It's about the strength of forgiveness that can change everything for the better, even on the other side. It's a story of hope and blessings to everyone who is looking for a PROOF OF ETERNITY, and that's the title of my book PROOF OF ETERNITY by Alba Monn. It's a story of hope and blessings to everyone who is mourning about the loss of a loved one, especially for parents who have lost their own children. I came to testify that ETERNITY is a fact, that our loved ones live on on the other side, that they want for us to be comforted and completely consoled by the truth, because the truth will set you free.

    I was born and raised atheist/secular. Recently I've heard the call of God. My mother and girlfriend are both protestant, so naturally I tried that because I'm new to faith. After learning that there are over 30,000 different denominations, I started to give up. I have given up on God over and over again, because it's hard for me to accept it due to how I was raised. But everytime before I give up, I get drawn into catholicism. So drawn in that it changes my way of thinking, feeling, and experiencing the world around me. But I usually gave that up too, because of what others will say (misunderstand) about the catholics. But now I really truly believe this is the path God is directing me towards. I still wrestle with God sometimes, but I think for the most part he has won this fight. But in a way, loving God is a win win situation. Now I'm clean from addiction, I'm focusing on living a more christ like life, and best of all I can finally feel the presence of God.

    • @jayschwartz6131

      most protestants reject Catholicism because they cannot accept obedience and trust in the Church's authority established by Jesus Himself. Rejecting Catholicism and her teachings is rejecting God's authority. Mostly out of pride, they prefer to side with Judas than to submit to Peter's authority. You might disagree or dislike a Pope, Bishop or Priest...or a particular Catholic dogma...but the authority of such individual or dogma does not come from men but from the Holy Spirit. Even an evil, twisted pope, as some that have existed through History, was appointed under the authority of the Church. The misdeeds and errors of such bad pope (or bishop or priest) are God's will, and as the Church history has proven over and over, great Godly things have actually come from such evil events.

    Jonathan your portrayal of Jesus is so heartfelt and real. You speak of being a born again Catholic it appears to me you are what we called in the 80's a Charismatic Catholic. Scott Hahn was at Franciscan University of Steubenville when I received my degrees from there. He was a true blessing to
    many.

    This was the very first time I’ve been brought down in tears. Jesus is what it’s all about and we actually felt him I’ve never ever had this feeling come over me. Jesus was in the same room with us. I am not a bible reader or Bible freak, I don’t read the Bible I was raised in a catholic family, church school and was a altar boy and the chosen one reconnected me with Jesus. I never stop believing nor will stop believing in him. He is our lord our king. I believe in God, Creator of heaven and earth.. I accept Jesus, is my lord and savior I believe in him, and only him.❤

    I had my “born again” experience many years ago in 1991. I walked into the confessional one way and came out another, forever changed and touched by the fire of God’s love. I repented of my sins and gave my life to Jesus and became a new person in him, my life forever changed. I walked out saying and believing in my heart, “Jesus is Lord”. Suddenly, it all came together for me, his death on the cross for us and who he was and it began a lifelong quest of seeking him and getting to know him and changing my whole focus. About 6 months ago, I was on the train and ended up in a conversation with a lapsed Catholic who actually was now an atheist. He began to gather after speaking to me that my faith was very important to me and he made the statement, are you born again or something to that effect. When I answered yes and then he found out that I was also Catholic, he insisted on saying that I was not and that it was impossible to be Catholic and born again! It was an intense hour ride, started off okay as we began to talk politics. He was very passionate but once he found out I was Conservative, his demeanor towards me changed dramatically and then once religión came into our conversation, well that was it! Kind of sad as he felt like he was the authority in all these subjects and claimed he loves talking to people but once he found out my views were a bit different, well that sure changed things! You can absolutely be Catholic and be born again. There is no other way to describe what I experienced.

      @@rosamariann I agree with you totally on the term "born again Catholic" because it's what I feel has been happening to me in the last few months. Probably due to the pandemic, it's made me grow closer to God. It's an incredible feeling. One moment Im just going through the motions and doing the bare minimum, not living a fully God centered life, and doing as I please, making it easy for the devil to keep tricking me. Now I try to actually and truly honor God in everything I do, like my life is a prayer. I can see sin more clearly (our culture is full of it.) And the Holy Spirit has given me lenses to truly understand scripture in my daily bible readings (before scripture just overwhelmed me.) I thank God He has let me live long enough to go through this "conversion" in my lifetime, before it's too late to repent and fully accept Jesus Christ with all my heart. This can happen even for Catholics. Have a blessed day! ☺️❤️🙏🏽

    GIGANTIC FAN OF DR. HAHN HERE! Thanks for having Jonathan as an interviewee, he has been absolutely mind blowing in his performance on The Chosen ... as have so many others! I am so grateful for you, Dr. Hahn. Back in the days of cassette tapes and a sales job which kept me on the road hundreds of miles a day, I can't tell you how many times I played yours and Mrs. Hahn's testimony. I could recite it word for word. Long story short, when my dad died unexpectedly in January of 1999, I actually introduced myself to the priest presiding at my father's funeral, as being a "Born-Again Catholic" ... I thought I was SO creative but now see that the Good Lord wants this for everyone. Thank you both for a very, very enjoyable interview. Hope to see you both "on the other side"! Love, Sean

      @@Victor-E-R What scripture did the Christians follow during the first 300-plus years of Christianity when their was no canon of the Bible, and no printing press to make scripture widely available to the people? Did our Lord abandon those first Christians since they had no Bible to guide them? Of course He didn't. Catholics believe that Jesus saves us, and He gave us his Church to guide us. Why? Because the Bible tells us: "And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the powers of death shall not prevail against it." Catholics also believe that the Bible is the inerrant word of God, and so we believe, like the Bible teaches us in 1 Tim 3:15, that the Church is the pillar and foundation (or bullwark) of truth. Since the beginning of Christianity, it was and is the Church that guides the people of God.

    I've been a huge fan of The Chosen since I discovered it a year ago. I am a freelance student of the faith and take care to feed my soul with media that is true to what the Catholic Church teaches. I've been mostly all in with this show, but cautiously, knowing Dallas' father is the author of the extremely popular, but anti-Catholic book series, "Left Behind". Season one was great, with no hitches. And it was such a relief to watch Dr. Hahn's interviews with Jonathan Roumie and how excited he was over the show! He even went so far as to say he had found in the creators of the show, people who are more in tune with the Gospels than he is!
    Then comes season 2. I won't give anything away, but I felt the way one scene presented Mother Mary strayed from what we have been taught. I know it's not dogma, but at one point she says that both she and Joseph had had moments of doubt that Jesus was the Son of God. I honestly don't know if this is a point of contention with the Catholic Church. Some people were upset at Mary discussing the birth experience in a candid, way, saying "he needed to be cleaned". Both of these are pretty small things, I think, but some on TH-cam are saying it's blasphemous. This scene has not changed my stance and feelings for this show. But it did serve as a reminder that this is a human endeavor (heroic, but still human) and to enjoy it as great entertainment and spiritually inspiring - as it has truly helped my prayer life and rosary.
    I hope y'all will re-interview Jonathan - or get Dallas on, maybe. We've got five more seasons to go. I pray the creators will be driven by the Holy Spirit and our Blessed Mother - and counseled by good, strong priests like Father Mark Goring (he would be great!) or theologians like Dr. Scott Hahn!! So, St. Paul Center - and Dr. Hahn - what do y'all think of the scene?
