  • Saguaro National Park is full of beautiful Saguaro Cacti! They can get as tall as 21m and the area lends itself to some beautiful landscape photography. If you're this south in Arizona Saguaro National Park comes highly recommended. We visited the western section. Landscape photography in a dessert can be dangerous so take your precautions!

The black and white image was spectacular. I'm heading out that way myself for a road trip in a few weeks...Saguaro National Park, Sonoran Desert National Monument, and then off to Joshua Tree.

Having grown up in Arizona, I can appreciate you amazement at the size of the Saguaro cactus. You did a nice job of capturing the majesty of the cactus and the environment. Thanks for sharing.

FYI - Tucson is pronounced Tooson, forget the C. I like that you mentioned the time of year the video was shot. It's a good reference if a viewer wants to visit that location during the conditions they see in your video.

Love the way you said Tucson, but I bet I would have the same if not worse problem in your country. Have to say the b/w is awesome.

Oh, Cholla cactus is pronounced Choy ya. Like Boy ya. Also, be aware that as far as the rangers are concerned, you have to stay on the trail. I enjoyed your work, and look forward to your next videos.

Ugg... omg your photography is beautiful. Thanks for the tips. I'm a budding landscape photographer myself (more of a pro at the abstractish style usually for my art but I love photography in general.) Also, I am about to move there from there east coast of America so I am looking forward to lots of opportunities to experiment with my photography there.

I loved your video. I grew up just off of Picture Rocks road and the park was basically my backyard. Signal Hill was a common picnic location for my family. As mentioned another visit is a must. Monsoon season you can get some incredible shots of storms coming in if you're lucky.

Great video, and good ideas on how to capture the mood and the sence of the great scenary in the south west of the USA. Just came back from a one week trip to Tucson - spend a day in each park and got some great pictures.

Should you return to Tucson, feel free to look me up, you hardly got to scratch the surface.. I'm more familiar with the East side location, But both have their attractions. FYI, this was also the stomping grounds of Ansell Addams. When you are giving cautions, don't forget to mention rattlesnakes. I've been closer to them than you want to know, and they can be very well camouflaged. I'd recommend taking twice the water you would think. Don't use those hip packs that carry small bottles, they have lulled people into thinking that was enough. I know of two 'experienced' hikers died with those at Picacho Peak. My trick was to use a pack that would have four 16 oz or larger Dasani bottles. Two I'd refrigerate, and two I froze. By the time the first two were empty, the others would be thawed. Make sure you take sunscreen, sunglasses, light long sleeve shirts, and a good cool hat. I enjoy your video's and will look up your others. Best Wishes. P.S. Don't forget to try the local mesquite grilled steaks!

I plan on picking up a pair of gaiters to ward off the cholla needles, as well as protect from rattlers (not to mention a little more lethal 'protection'...just in case). Not sure about national park use (I'll have to check the regs), but I'll be on some BLM land as well so shouldn't be an issue. The only thing that concerns me more than rattlers are the "smuggling and illegal immigration" warning signs.

Great, highly informative film! We're in the planning stages for a southwestern time lapse- mostly astro- film project for spring and summer of 2018. Your film gave us some great perspective on what to expect and plan for. This park will definitely be on the list of locations- weather permitting in June. Keep up the good work!

Well, if you are in the South West of the UK be sure to get in touch. If you like Historic Cities Bath is one of the prettiest in Europe and a World heritage site (we live just outside). I am guessing for Landscapes probably you'll be looking at The Lake District, Peak District perhaps Pembrokeshire. :-)

Too-Saun. But your pronunciation is closer to the original one: Took-Saun. I say it out loud like this to see if it annoys my significant other who is from there. And even he doesn't know why the airport abbreviates it as TUS when its spelled TUCson.
