This woman is one of my favorite guests on this channel. She is so intelligent, eloquent, and articulate. Due to her level of self-awareness and ability to communicate, this is one of the first times where I can clearly understand the connection between being gay and non-gender conforming and interpreting that as being “trans.” I’ve had a hard time wrapping my head around that one for a while now, as a Gen-Xer who sees sexuality and gender as so separate from one another.

Not related to transition specifically, but I feel like I relate to you (Maia) so much 😭. Also a lesbian, also feeling pressured abt wanting to dress more butch/masc, also currently waiting to study abroad for independence (i am in a muslim country rn), constantly feeling paranoid about parents, trying to find joy in the few romantic experiences i’ve had so far, going through heartbreaks alone, reading SBB (though I related to Therese more when I read it), etc. etc. Just wanted to thank you for that because it’s soooo real and helped me feel less isolated for a bit

The more I listen to this woman the more I am so extremely impressed with her brain! ❤ What a bright curious mind! I am so happy she didn’t become ensnared in the Woke Cult and that she is going to go on to share her wisdom, insight, curiosity, and no doubt be a happy, well-adjusted, humble individual in this crazy world!! I wish her all the best, and I can hardly believe that she is so extremely in-touch and based at her young age. This is not meant in an ageist way at all-just noticing that fewer people in her age group are so grounded in reality and engrossed in critical thinking and curious thought-provoking mental processes, and it is soooo refreshing! I would certainly LOVE subscribing to her TH-cam channel if she does create one.

I think she managed to fly under so many radars, I wonder who to blame about it. She felt like a "problem" to her parents about being premature and all the developmental issues, she probably stopped bringing up any issues, and when they reacted so badly at her being "male" it shut her up.

And parents who didn't talk things out with her. Intelligent children can't just be told "because I said so." They'll find a way around the rule. They need to know why what they're doing is harmful. Many well meaning parents don't know this.
For example, she had no idea that she was a girl. I'm sure her parents were unaware of this because they didn't ask her what she thought about herself. They just wanted her to stop acting "weird" without considering the cause or even if it was weird in a socially ostracizing way.

Having to rely on a drug for life would be enough to stop me from doing anything. You never know what finances will be. Insurance isn't guarenteed. Im surprised insurance pays for a voluntary plastic surgery now, and then lifelong drugs to go with it? Can we rely on that to last forever?
