Too much fun. I've been on a big Jazz kick for the past 6 months or so. I've learned 4 of your tunes in the last three weeks - Border line obssessed, I'm going to learn them ALL! You're an exceptional teacher. Wonderful selection of songs - I remember 90% of them from my fathers musical taste and piano playing growing up. Excellently delivered explinations/musical context, patient delivery & coaching, tactful videography - I sincerely appreciate all of the hard work you have put into making these and sharing them with the world. Kind Regards from SC.
Liebe Frau Sherman! Ihre Art zu unterrichten hat mir sehr geholfen. Sie sind ein hervorragender Lehrer, und obendrein auch noch ein sehr guter Musiker. Keep on pickin´ . Danke! Lg Didi Ganster!
@@GuitarversumSandraSherman Althoug a chit-chat with you about gear would be lovely. If you ever come to the Amsterdam you're treated for a coffee and a chit chat!
Sandra, thank you for another great lesson. You are my go-to person for chord melody tunes like this. You are a gifted teacher. Clear, insightful, and knowledgeable. It would be fun to hang out and gig with you!
Thank you, Randy! Yeah, that would be fun. Who knows what the Netavetse brings us. Maybe I can have a virtual gig with my TH-cam friends. But live is still the best 😊
Thanks so much for all your work, Sandra Sherman! the most underrated guitar teacher out there, I've been letting my friends know how enjoyable and breezy you make learning new songs!
Thanks, Don! Still enjoy my Blue Chip pick a lot ❤️ In case you were wondering... I don't use it on most YT tutorials, bc I usually lose the picks during the shooting 😊 I think I used it on the Fusion Licks or Charlie Parker video, though, bc it's really easy to glide through the strings effortlessly.
Guitarversum Sandra Sherman Hi Sandra, I’m glad you’re enjoying your BC pick. I have three BCs but I only play with my fingers now. Don’t worry about losing it. If you do I’ll get you another one!
Hi Sandra, I've learnt a lot from this lesson, thank you so much. I'm learning it on my classical guitar, it's a bit hard in the upper frets but I'm doing ok thanks to you. xxxx
Glad you find it enjoyable and helpful! If you can't get the high positions, just play the top notes (the melody without the chords). For one or two bat's, that's OK.
I´ve just listened to a Hank Jones piano solo version so beautiful and I´ve thought "Sure Sandra is going to teach me how to play this tune on my guitar" Thank you again Sandra
The pinkie work reminds me of Satin Doll and Eleanor Rigby. Since I have been working on those, this is a nice addition to make my Jazz Trilogy. Thanks and well done, as always!
great tutorial of a great tune, just a bit slower at times or a repetition of A1+A2 section would have been nice, keep up the good work sandra, thanks a lot
Thanks for your feedback! Yes, I canceled the repetitions of the sections, bc the videos were getting so long and people don't watch long videos. It's all in the complete playthrough anyway. But I understand that it's more comfortable to have it right after the explanation.
At the 16:27 Phrase 5 i really want to know that (A-7 to D7 ) Or (A7 to D7) Or (Amaj to D7) i see many transcription it not same. The Original is A major , minor , dominante ? Which one is correct?
I always try to listen to the song first in order to understand the phrasing and follow the melody. I find vocal versions are best for this and the Stacey Kent version is tops.
It's a compound word of "Guitar" abd "Universum", which is universe in German. In the beginning I wanted to run the channel bilingual, but later changed to English only.
HI Sandra!!!! I'm apologize.. It's not my deal... But.. (Everywhere - BUT!!) ... What about: El Talisman (Tarantino), Pierre Bachelet - Emmanuelle... So sorry once more. You are beautiful!!!

What a beautiful song. I heard it from Sinatra before. Will definitely put it in my repertoire.
Well worth it 😊
I think the version he did with tommy Dorsey was one of his first hits
Como siempre otra gran interpretación de un gran standard que también es otro de mis favoritos. Muchas gracias Sandra!!!
Great lesson you do a great job of breaking songs down when you teach

It's always a matter of how many people would watch it 😊

Am7 to D7 makes the most sense, bc it's a II V. There are always so many versions of a song.

I always try to listen to the song first in order to understand the phrasing and follow the melody. I find vocal versions are best for this and the Stacey Kent version is tops.
That's what I recommend too! Agter the vocal listening, continue with instrumentalists that don't change the head much. Stan Getz is great for that.
hi sandra
could you something about pachelbels canon in d
love you
david
Thanks David! ❤️
I'm not sure about Pachabel's canon. It's not a jazz thing, you know. They did some great rock covers, though.

what does guitarversum mean?

what pedal are you using ?
