You said you were done hyping Reaves "as the second coming of Jordan" and now you're doing it again. They're doubling LeBron and AD on nightly basis so he's getting wide open shots and getting the jump on his man. When your the number one option, your getting the best defensive player on that team, and the defense attention is on you. So let's be real because at times he was looking AD off until other teams kept putting his butt in that pick n role every time down, and that took his confidence.
I know it's an odd comparison but it's really not that crazy when you dive into the comps and advance analytics. Reaves lacks the FGA. The question is could Reaves maintain it consistently like Brunson game in and game out.
It's ridiculous to even compare Brunson to Austin Reaves. You're just being a fanboy again as usual. Reaves being the 3rd or 4th option is a double-edged sword. Sure he may take fewer shots but he doesn't get nearly the defensive attention that Brunson gets. Every night Brunson is facing the opposing team's best POA defender plus double teams and still avg 29-4-7, Reaves doesn't have that level of skill. The Knicks are arguably the 2nd or third-best team in the East with Brunson as their best player. If Reaves were the Lakers' best player they'd be a lottery team. Hell, being a play-in team and first-round exit winning only 1 playoff game they're practically a lottery team now.
I get not believing the Brunson comp but he is more than a solid role player. Lol. Come on my guy hahah. Dude was not what we expected but was still 16/4/6 in a down year as the 4th option. Appreciate you, Dex as always.
Austin Reaves is not an above average player. TH-camrs like you give him above average praise for being on the Lakers and playing with 2 top 10 players. Lonnie walker started for the Lakers and averaged 17 ppg and is now gonna be fighting for minutes in the G league. That would be Austin if he wasn’t on the Lakers.
Smh, the fact that you have to have the differences between Lonnie and Reaves explained shows your lack of basketball knowledge. Reaves in a bad year averaged 16/4/6 as the 4th option and also impacted winning. Lonnie averaged 17 a game as the 3rd option on a 2-10 team while contributing nothing else. Lonnie that very same season couldn't even crack the rotation later in the season because he provides nothing else than vacuum acoring. What's More impactful? 17ppg or 16ppg with 4 rebounds and 6 assists? This is simply the basics, not even getting into the advance stuff. You comment youtubers like myself but you clearly aren't educated enough in the game of basketball that you think averaging 17ppg on a 2-10 team makes you good or bad. Smh
@@AsItStandsLakersthe lakers having a bad stretch wasn’t solely on Lonnie Walker. Lonnie got hurt and lost his spot due to injury. Austin was so bad last year he got benched 😂. He shot 27% from the 3 in the playoffs. Jamal Murray hit the series clincher on his sorry ass. He’s arguably the worst starting 2 guard in the western conference. There’s nothing special about his game. How many guys have played along side of lebron James and looked better than what they actually were? Have you followed Lebrons career? Look at his teammates from 2001-2010. What happened to those guys once lebron left? Get real fanboy if lebron and AD weren’t on this team nobody would be talking about bum ass Austin Reaves and that’s including you 😂
@reggiesadventures4325 smh which game winner did he hit over reaves? You clearly didn't watch the games and just heard someone tell you that. Secondly, he absolutely got bench early last season and how many games did that last? He also went to the bench and immediately became the front runner for 6th man of the year averaging 17ppg off the bench lol. Again your clueless, Austin Reaves emergence came when Lebron got hurt lol. Reaves is actually better when Lebron doesn't play. Lonnie was hurt the entire season? Stop you keep making yourself look worst. Just say you hate reaves and move on. Not a single point you've made has been correct

Smh, Mr. 81 I'm very disappointed in you. Calling my video clickbait when Rob Pelinka literally was the one to say it. I even say this like 20 seconds in the video. As a content creator yourself you should know better and be better. You shouldn't be so quick to accuse someone of clickbait before educating yourself first. But I'm more disappointed in your comment because it's you, who has always been a good commentor and subscriber, for so long too. Idk, why you'd leave such an ignorant comment
Laughing so hard at Laker fans who're placing, Reaves on the bench Instead of DLO ... LMAO ... DLO Is trade bait and no matter how you say It, aw you need to place him in lineup because other teams need to see what his good at, teams know what his good at and his great regular season but plays no defense and shy's away from the playoffs, no trying to convince other teams what DLO Is made Of everyone knows. Reaves plays well both ends of the floor AND If you say no he doesn't then you have no clue, sure his not elite, but compared to DLO he is and give Reaves 0-10 on defense his a 6 If not 7 out of 10 on defense, at least he tries compared to DLO or I should say NOLO. Max Christie should start Instead of DLO Starting line up should be; AR, Max, Rui, Bron, AD
Please stop spreading the false narrative that AR's defense was "atrocious" last year until the playoffs. He did not do well the first half of the season, but if you go back and look at the games, he played very solid defense the second half of the season, guarding the other side's biggest back court scorer night after night and holding his own against the likes of SGA, Booker, and others. The biggest difference between Reaves last year and the year before is that they year before the team was noticeably better with him on the court to the point that it was hard to take him out; while last season, for whatever reason, he did not have the same impact on games on a consistent basis.
Austin Reaves pre All Star Break had a Defensive Rating of 121 but post All Star Break was a 117.5. He finished the season 118. League average is 115.5. He was atrocious all season not just the first half. Reaves also had the Second worst defensive epm. I defend Reaves a ton and think his season last year was Overblown by many but it's not a false Narritive. Facts are facts.
It's really not that crazy a comp. I broke it all down in the video. As the 4th option it ain't happening but comps are exactly the same as Brunson and Reaves is taller.
