Amazing that you have made these arches from steel, amazing work and AMAZING to see two young people beating and rolling metal, well done on all fronts.
Back in the early seventies, I worked at the British Leyland Dealership and we had those two 'works' MGC/GTs in our showroom for several weeks. They looked and sounded great. I had an MGC at the time.
Impressive but with all that hand work it's gotta be expensive. Been dreaming for more than 10 years that someone, somewhere would make some stamping dies to mass produce these things for front and rear fenders. I know, sheet metal stamping dies are expensive too, but someone in India, China, or someplace else should be able to do it cheaply enough to make a profit. I'd pay $3000-4000 USD for a set of steel flares of the proper looking shape. Edit: some internet search shows Porsche 914-GT steel flares can be had for about $1500-2500 USD per set of four. I've got to believe there are more MGB owners wanting to add flares than 914 owners! The biggest problem with average MGB owners is that they are insanely cheap!
I think this was filmed in France? - Nevertheless just the individual labour charge for that skilled panel- beater would have been something like £500 per day over a week’s period I would estimate.
@ Nice work SLG, you’ve certainly made a lovely job of that arch! Yes you labour charges are similar to the U.K. The project looks like about 3 months work, would that be accurate?
With a flexible shape pattern. Take a look at this video: th-cam.com/video/JuYgQ2PUHAA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=WwQsTizLEFl0V0xt . This soft pattern is reversible, so you can use it for symetrical parts. Check also my facebook and instragram chanel, there are some exemples If you don't fully understand... well, let me say you that it's a trade ;-).
Here's a video where you can see how I use a flexible shape pattern to make a symmetrical part. th-cam.com/video/wjj7WMoK-5U/w-d-xo.htmlsi=4fBfhfbwEv_j2SJf
Impressionnant!

You probably haven't noticed this, but your gloves and pants have holes...))))

That's really impressive work but it looks like crap on the car.
Have you any idea about recreating a historic Sebring racing look?
