Excellant video. I have to change the pto belt as the 5" idler pulley under the footplate broke on the bushing & hence, destroyed the belt! You are absolutely CORRECT! TAKE PICS OF THE ASSEMBLY prior to removing any parts. It's amazing how quickly you can think you know you put it together right & find out you didn't 😠 good job!

Thanks for the video, it helped me reconnect my hydro tension pulley Spring, that mysteriously popped off. My bobcat 2014 60” ZTM is the XRZ model & is similar in layout. I saw the spring location your vid. The XRZ has one vertical spring “leg” pointing up on the idler arm, to the left (Looking from back to front) another vertical leg pointing down is about spring length on underside of frame. Very hard to see, kind of buried but there. You slip the spring connector ends over these legs when idler arm is fully disconnected. You then put the belt on rear engine pulley, then right hydro pulley. U have to put idler pulley arm 1 locking click of tension. Then I ended up using an axe handle to push pulley so I had enough slack to work the belt on the left hydro pulley. Took me many fails with the belt to get the right combination and tension. 2 people would make this job much easier with one providing the tension relief on idler pulley. Using a socket wrench didn’t give enough slack so you need something to pry with on idler arm/pulley. All done & works great! Mowed about 2 acres in front & side yard. Will do rear 1 acre tomorrow. I took the clutch off nothing thinking it was such a miserable thing to put back on
I had a drive belt fail on my Scag 52” mower. Similar belt routing as yours with the drive belt above the PTO deck belt. The tape trick helped me keep the belt from moving while I worked the belt around the pullies.

Great video. Your method of getting the belts off and on is really helpful. I hadn't realized the hole was in the rear tensioner arm where you could use a socket extension. Super!!! You should have put some grease in that alemite grease fitting on rear tensioner bearing while you were there. I'll bet you already have, as yours moves easily. Mine is so stuck that the spring will not even pull the arm around. I've replaced the alemite fitting and tried to get more grease into it. I can hammer it back and forth, but it is really tight. It looks like I am going to have to take it apart or replace it. You wouldn't think a bearing getting that small amount of movement would go bad, but mine sure seems to be. It may get a lot more movement than I am imagining. It seems that proper movement of that spring arm and making sure there are no sharp dents in that tensioner pully may be the key to the belts not getting chewed up. Those are great machines. Good job on the video. Might want to rethink using a forklift without some type of jack stand, jmho. These are fantastic mowers. Mine , has 1000 hrs and still cutting grass and making money. Cheers. G.S.

Im back watching your video. Pto belt popped down off of the pillow and now is weddged and stuck in between pump? I think it the pump. Can I drop the pump down. Idk I'm screwed

Ok I'm sorry I look crazy. So the pto belt came down off of the pulley and now is wedged inbetween the electronic pto clutch. Can I drop the electronic clutch to pull out the belt from being wedged inbetween?
Hi, I am trying to replace the drive/pump belt on my Ferris ZT 1500 48 inch cut. The drive belt is twice the width of the other blade drive belt. I have not been able to find a specific video on that unit. Is there another Ferris model that has the same or similar procedure as the 1500?
I'm not familiar with Ferris Mowers. I did find the manual online here. www.manualslib.com/manual/835388/Ferris-Is1500z-Series.html?page=40#manual It has a section on replacing that belt. Sorry I couldn't help more.

I have same mower and my right hydro pulley somehow came off and was behind my mower. I found a bolt and put it back up with belt back in place and my mower is moving but not my right arm.... what do I do. Am i missing something?
Wow, that's really hard to diagnose without it in front of me. Some things to check: Is the pully fastened to the hydro pump tightly or could the pully be spinning on the shaft some when you apply the right handle? Does the belt have decent tension on it? If the the belt doesn't have decent tension on it, the belt tension spring could be gone or broken or possibly stretched. is the belt damaged in any way? Is your right hydro pump leaking fluid? Is anywhere in the hydro lines leaking fluid? Is the pully that came off damaged, did it get bent slightly, or did the shaft of the hydro pump get damaged? These are things I would look at first, then I would start looking at the entire hydro system. Again, I'm sorry, but its really hard to know what is going on with it, when I don't have it in front of me. Good luck with it.

would this job be easier if the deck was taken off the mower? i don't have a lift like you do.
I did my work just laying on ground reaching under. Worked for me without lift.
Also removing deck is a major job & one you don’t want to do unless broken or needs repair itself.
I would say that taking the deck off would be much more trouble than it is worth. I used the lift to better show and film in the video, but it is not necessary to lift it all the way up like I did. You can do it with a jack and jack stands, too.
I'm so used to working on shaft drive cubs I watched the first 10 minutes watching this video wondering how there was that much room to work. Turns out it's because my bobcat zero is rear engine not front, man did I feel stupid.

I am sorry to say, your video goes around the bush and not the point. I was looking for a way to connect the spring on the tension pully and hold on to your video. I could see a spring hanging on, but you failed to tell me how to connect the hanging thing to the other side. This was I looking for you failed to do it. It was totally useless and unnecessary exercise.
He didn't fail anything. You just didn't get the info you wanted. Not his fault. Poor attitude on your part.
