At least I am smart enough to recognize my own problems. When I was a child, I thought that when I grew up, I would be a pretty awesome adult. But when I did become an adult, I noticed some things about myself. I am so terrible at hunting gathering fishing and farming that I have to pay someone to feed me. I am so terrible at construction that I have to buy a house that someone else built. I am so terrible a craftsman that I have to buy tools forged by someone else. I am so terrible at making fire that I have to pay someone to give me gas and electricity. I am so terrible at making water drinkable I have to pay someone to send it to me through pipes. So I did the world a favor and decided not to procreate.
The fact that this series is on part *14* and has been going on for *4 years* with no signs of stopping should tell you just how much of an evolutionary failure we really are.
One of the worst places you can rob is a gun store. Every one of the patrons is likely armed and will not hesitate to gun you down if you threatened them. Definite Darwin award winner. Reminds me of that one story about the guy who robbed a gunstore with a knife and unsurprisingly wound up dead.
We all love the Be Amazed content - but I think it's time we gave a shout out to the animators too, because they do a brilliant job of adding funny visuals to those stories. The content is always interesting, funny, informative etc., but without those crazy animations they wouldn't be as great as they are. Respect to all those involved at Be Amazed - including those animators :)

One of the gun stores I went to actually had the newspaper clipping of this incident taped to one of their counters, lol. That guy was shot some 30+ times with 5 different firearms of 4 different calibers...
I'm a little surprised that the story of "angry wheelchair man" hasn't appeared in here. A Chinese male was in a mobility scooter and missed an elevator by mere seconds. Enraged, he rammed the doors repeatedly, which gave way and gave him a one-way ticket to the pearly gates and a well deserved Darwin award.

There’s a story in the online Darwin Awards about a guy in England who was in the hospital to treat a skin disease. The doctors had put 2 coats (iirc) of highly flammable cream all over his body. But eventually the irresistible feeling of needing a smoke set in. Smoking was not permitted inside the hospital (it was 2006), so the guy snuck out onto a fire escape, fully coated in flammable ointment, and lit up a smoke. You can probably guess what happened next. He went up like a human Roman candle. EDIT: There’s also a story about a fat guy and his friend who tried to perform DIY Liposuction. But that’s a story for later.

These were always out in the wilderness on mountains etc and bristling with dishes, radio towers and transmitters and were strictly out of bounds to none technical staff, like the janitor. This janitor liked sitting on the roof on his folding chair reading the newspaper in too close proximity to the microwave transmitter/receiver because it was warm. He had been warned of the danger of being near the equipment but ignored the advice. One day a distant station transmitted a signal which was to be rerouted through our man's station without his knowledge (he was not in the loop of course), and the extra heat generated by this transmission fried this guy where he sat. Very warm indeed.

The car thief story hit close to home for me. My Dad's car had been broken into recently. Whoever did it was trying to steal his car, but they only succeeded in breaking the ignition and stealing his wallet. He's currently in the process of replacing the contents of his wallet and getting his car repaired.
As a volunteer firefighter, that one about the Seqouyah VFD hits too close to home. What those 7 were doing was despicable and an afront to everything sacred about the profession. Sadly, they found that out the hard way and killed one of their own.
That's why chippers should have two emergency buttons inside the chute. One is "stop". The other one is "speed up" that you push if you fell in feet first and you're half way gone.

It was about a women who felt to her death because she tried to lower herself down from an open attic window , trying to reach her 4th floor apartment window. she obviously locked herself out and was trying to skip locksmith costs and/or reporting to her landlord. But wait....there's more... she felt because she used an electrical extension cord as safety rope..... It happened in Frankfurt, Germany. Somewhere about 2013... Guess what... My story got rejected because "there are many incidents like this" i guess we are top of the world....
I could have died this way when I was 12... But I TESTED THE CORD first! DUH! Stupid TV and movies show this working all the time! In Auckland, NZ we had a similar incident to the last story. Although guns aren't widespread here, we do have some gun shops. One low life genius decided that he would rob one using a hunting knife. At which point the shop owner promptly shot him (non-fatally).

One of my aunts told me a story about a friend she had. Said friend had a bad habit of getting drunk, arguing while be drove around, and stepping out of the moving vehicle. Needless to say, she did this one too many times, and her last step was from a car doing 60 down the highway.

My current dog talks a big game (barking at other animals/delivery people), but becomes very submissive when you go to pet her; she's also really not a fan of thunder or fireworks. As for German Shepherds, my very first dog was a GSD/Collie/Malamute mix, and while she weighed more than I did at the time and would bark at any other dog that hove into view, she was very sweet and gentle with us.
I visit the Holiday World park every year. The rollercoaster is wooden so it is very bumpy. This also helps explain why she fell off. It also goes through a forest and by the front parking lot; therefore, on the final descent, which takes place in the forest she probably hit trees and bushes on her way down. It also doesn't help that the ride goes sideways a lot and there are a few dark tunnels. The reason I know so much about this ride in particular is because the other roller coasters are bigger and taller. I don't like them that much but I'm willing to go with my friends. Hope this helps elobarate even more about the situation that happened.
I really love the series since part 1 but this episode hit's me different that it brought me to tears, like the Good Boy part the dog didn't do anything wrong but we people were just the worst and irresponsible to our pets.
There's no shortage of idiots that intentionally get out of the restraints on roller coasters. When I worked at King's Dominion in high school, I even witnessed an employee in the park on his day off hanging off the side of a coaster and cheering as it went down the track (he was escorted out of the park and fired on the spot). The whole 4 years I worked in that park I said someone was going to die of their own stupidity on one of those rides... and I was only off by one month. A month to the day after I quit, some fool wiggled out of the restraints on the Shockwave and fell to his death.
I feel like if somebody is going to remove their restraints on a roller coaster, then they should probably call a suicide hotline when they get home. Because that's the only kind of motivation I can fathom for such recklessness.

Back in the day, this series used to have the same intro. But for like last three episode, the script kept changing. Apparently he realized just how much he created this series and realized just how many stupid people in this world.
One Darwin Award story happened at my middle school back in the mid 2000s in Sibiu, Romania. I was during a class session and waited for break to arrive. When it did, the first thing I saw outside the courtroom was the corpse of a construction worker with quite a deadly head injury just lying there. I asked around and I found out that apparently that construction worker decided to climb the scaffolds to the school (the school's exterior was being renovated at the time) while being heavily inebriated. One clumsy drunk step and they fell to their death. Apparently his colleagues did warn him not to climb while drunk and go home but he decided instead to Darwin Award himself a favor.

In Auckland, NZ we had a similar incident to the last story.
Although guns aren't widespread here, we do have some gun shops. One low life genius decided that he would rob one using a hunting knife. At which point the shop owner promptly shot him (non-fatally).
Last one was my personal favorite, I mean you go into a gun store Key words here being gun and store, with plenty of customers and a few cops, thinking you have the upper hand, only for everyone of the people in the shop to open fire. I mean what did he think was gonna happen? Best part.

One of my aunts told me a story about a friend she had. Said friend had a bad habit of getting drunk, arguing while be drove around, and stepping out of the moving vehicle. Needless to say, she did this one too many times, and her last step was from a car doing 60 down the highway.

A very valid point. I have a dachshund-beagle mix (videos of her are on my channel) whom I love dearly, and if given the choice between intentionally harming her (or any other animal) and running full speed into a tree, I'd likely say, "OK, let me get my sneakers."

@@JustATacoTruck Indeed. My current dog talks a big game (barking at other animals/delivery people), but becomes very submissive when you go to pet her; she's also really not a fan of thunder or fireworks.
As for German Shepherds, my very first dog was a GSD/Collie/Malamute mix, and while she weighed more than I did at the time and would bark at any other dog that hove into view, she was very sweet and gentle with us.

I visit the Holiday World park every year. The rollercoaster is wooden so it is very bumpy. This also helps explain why she fell off. It also goes through a forest and by the front parking lot; therefore, on the final descent, which takes place in the forest she probably hit trees and bushes on her way down. It also doesn't help that the ride goes sideways a lot and there are a few dark tunnels. The reason I know so much about this ride in particular is because the other roller coasters are bigger and taller. I don't like them that much but I'm willing to go with my friends. Hope this helps elobarate even more about the situation that happened.

I really love the series since part 1 but this episode hit's me different that it brought me to tears, like the Good Boy part the dog didn't do anything wrong but we people were just the worst and irresponsible to our pets.

There's no shortage of idiots that intentionally get out of the restraints on roller coasters. When I worked at King's Dominion in high school, I even witnessed an employee in the park on his day off hanging off the side of a coaster and cheering as it went down the track (he was escorted out of the park and fired on the spot). The whole 4 years I worked in that park I said someone was going to die of their own stupidity on one of those rides... and I was only off by one month. A month to the day after I quit, some fool wiggled out of the restraints on the Shockwave and fell to his death.
I feel like if somebody is going to remove their restraints on a roller coaster, then they should probably call a suicide hotline when they get home. Because that's the only kind of motivation I can fathom for such recklessness.
We hear stories about this all the time, and yet there's always those people that think it'll never happen to them...then it fucking does, WHAT GOES THROUGH THEIR HEADS?!
AND I DON'T MEAN ONE OF THE SUPPORTS FOR THE COASTER, WHAT I MEAN IS WHAT GOES THROUGH IT TO MAKE THEM THINK DOING SOMETHING THAT OBVIOUSLY DANGEROUS WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA?!

One Darwin Award story happened at my middle school back in the mid 2000s in Sibiu, Romania.
I was during a class session and waited for break to arrive. When it did, the first thing I saw outside the courtroom was the corpse of a construction worker with quite a deadly head injury just lying there. I asked around and I found out that apparently that construction worker decided to climb the scaffolds to the school (the school's exterior was being renovated at the time) while being heavily inebriated. One clumsy drunk step and they fell to their death. Apparently his colleagues did warn him not to climb while drunk and go home but he decided instead to Darwin Award himself a favor.
