Kim Nazarian was a friend of my college jazz teacher, and she came out to do a workshop and concert and I got to play bass in her rhythm section. This would’ve been like early 1994. Really fun and sweet lady
It is a sad statement on American musical taste that this band, in its original 5-member form with all its incredible original material, could not make it commercially.

So many great tunes on that album. Caravan and Top Secret are my favs. Love that old early-CD mix engineer style. Kind of a GRP thing back then - a bit bright but the musicianship stands proud.
Just saw them Dec 1, 2019 at the Riviera Maya Jazz Festival. They were GREAT but they were BETTER back then 😕 I miss the 5 voices and the awesome harmonies
