I met the Emberwind group at a homeschool convention in the vendors' section. It seemed like a great system and the artwork was on point. It's taken 5 years since then to finally get my family involved in D&D so I doubt I'll be able to get them to change systems.
Personally, I wouldn't give up hope if you pitch it to them. The systems are pretty similar to each other, and in my opinion Emberwind is a lot easier and faster to learn.
I'm beyond excited for it honestly! I'll be running this one as a storyteller, but with how the system works as a whole I may jump in as a player in the future
