Here in Greece the VX series is the first choice for rental and fly board applications, so I think its a sign thats a reliable ski. Nice review as always, thanks Kevin!!
I owned a '19 which I sold in fall of 2020 for more than I paid due to the shortage and i knew I wanted more power. The downside to this powerplant which is not mentioned in reviews is the noise and vibration it has. It is loud, I could hear mine quite a ways away on the lake and it was noticeably louder than other watercraft types. Also if on a longer cruise my throttle hand would get numb from the vibration it has. Hey Yamaha, how about some better engine mounts? Lastly, while the features were great, especially Ride and no wake mode, the Cruise feature is a mixed bag. Can't we get a cruise control that doesn't require constant full throttle to be applied Yamaha? Seems that would be easy to program so we can rest the throttle hand...see vibration issue. Overall it was a good watercraft, plenty of low end torque to pull tube and kids around. Kids often wanted to go behind the Yamaha rather than our ski boat, and it sure was easier to do so too. Oh, its pretty stout from 0-40 but the engine loses steam after that and 50 mph is all I ever saw on GPS. The '21 has additional worthwhile features so I'll be looking to pick up a HO or GP1800HO...once they become available again.
All very good points. Unfortunately all brands’ cruise control operates with the trigger wide open. We didn’t find the TR-1 to be as noisy as you mentioned either. That’s a curiosity.
I have this same Model , 2020.. thinking of going for the GP1800HO as well.. would like more speed..How much were you able sell your 2019 for?. Did you do a trade in or private sale?
@@beccab7794 Maybe Yamaha changed the engine mounts? Maybe mine had an issue? Regardless, I bought a 2022 FX HO and its just an awesome machine....much faster, rides great, quieter and NO VIBRATION out of the 4 cyl engine.
I live in SWFL and I’m buying a pwc for my family (wife and daughter). There are 2 almost new skis for sale here, a 2020 sea doo gtx limited and a 2020 FX Limited svho. What’s your opinion and preference between them 2? Thanks
Ah OK. (We never suggest a supercharged ski as somebody's first machine.) The FX Limited SVHO offers a pretty full catalog of accessories that will work great with the kids (tube, rope, inflator, etc.), plus it's a super tracking hull.

@@watercraftjournal Certainly seems louder than the older MR-1 it replaced. It is easy to service though...and fuel efficient at cruise.

We got a 2023 deluxe and the vibration is not bad at all.

Would It make more power when running premium hi octane fuel such as 98 Ron
More power? No. Run more efficiently? Certainly!
@@watercraftjournal Would it have a higher to speed or the same.
The engine running more efficiently would not effect how the hull traverses water.
This video is really going to help me to purchase two used jets ski ‘s.
How do the speakers sound are they loud?
They're less powerful than Kawasaki's and Sea-Doo's offerings. You won't hear much over 50mph.
I just bought a 2021 EX waverunner can you review this?
We did. The models are literally no different, just with scales of accessories. Please check out our previous reviews.
Wonder if that little 3 cylinder can make a gp1200r hull faster.
It’s only 110HP
Is 350 hrs too much??
Yeah
For an erection? Yes, you should consult a doctor.

If this is your first PWC, I suggest neither. Do not begin with a supercharged PWC, but rather, a naturally-aspirated machine.
@@watercraftjournal not my first one. I always had one until about 5 years ago, when sold mine and didn’t replace.

@@watercraftjournal last question, promise 😊: 2020 preowned FX Limited with 10 hours or new 2021 GTI SE 170?
Ooh, toughy. Still gonna go with the FX although the GTI is a great machine (and more comfy).
I just bought the 2021 vx deluxe, can you do a review on that?
Curious why if you already bought it?
@@watercraftjournal Well im in Canada I ordered it in January dealership is saying should be in by april. No test drive or havent even seen in person
Ah gotcha! That makes sense.
@@watercraftjournal Yeah could you, I ordered mine in August and still waiting.. In New York.
We might, but it won't be for a couple months.
is it limited to 52?
That's all it get push.
This thing looks dope to ride🙂
Yeah, it's a lot of fun.
Kevin rocks
