    That mirror trick works great not only for tangs, but for other aggressive fish like Anthias and angelfish. Also, another tip so you don't use a net next time to take the fish from the bucket to the tank is to use a plastic strainer like the ones found at the dollar store. I like to use those to net fish out so I don't damage their fins and stress them out 😀

    • @ReefDudes
      @ReefDudes  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good call on the strainer! ill pick my self up a fish strainer!!!!!

  • @solarchuva7042
    @solarchuva7042 ปีที่แล้ว

    Besides all the described strategies I would also add then during the night with the lights off to minimize the stress and avoid the first agression when the fish is completely lost at the nee home. Thanks for your videos.

    hey nice tank , question , i have a 1.5 year old Blonde Naso tang in a 150gal and hes about 7 inches , and now i just got a jeuvenile chocolate mimic tang thats in quarantine , hes about 3 inches , do you think i will have issues introducing him to my tank with the Naso that is the only other tang in the tank and its pretty much his tank , i was hoping since they are not the same species of tang and the new guy is much smaller that my naso wont feel too intimidated?? and i will also be adding a Timor wrasseat the same time. im hoping all goes well and will have a mirror ready but do you have any other thoughts or tips? , Ps always love your videos your so calm and down to earth :) Happy reefing from Ontario Canada

    Please guide on adding fish order please. Iam setting up a 180gallon tank with minimalist rock structure. Similar to luo's reek tank. Sump is 65 gallon with brick media.. skimmer and refug.
    I want to keep 2 sets of clown fish occerlaris pair and black ice pair. Blonde Naso , powder blue,yellow, regal, one bristletooth(either 2 spot or sqaure tail)(maybe sailfin or not if advise). And six line, red coris and a pair of leopard wrasse. 2 or 3 blue green chromis. A foxface. A schooling banner. I like my wrasse and tangs very much. Please advise the order/method to put tanks. I plan to get small or juvenile if possible. Also please any ultarian fish would be appricated.

    • @ReefDudes
      @ReefDudes  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! I'm in beautiful British Columbia :) 40g is too small for a tang unless its a baby.. in that case you would need to upgrade or have a bigger home for it when it grows.. so keep that in mind

I might have to buy used, there are so many on facebook market place. Can I ask about how much the light fixture cost? I am also thinking about putting a tank in my family room. i have a huge drywall built in shelving so I could put a tank like this and add a fixture or my den too, just not sure. Has your Trigger fish attempted to eat or eaten any of your inverts?

      No issue at all. Blue Throats are once of the more reef safe triggers. Hes been great!

      Just to add i as well have a blue throat in my tank and he does eat my shrimps but i still have snails and hermits. He even went after the gobies that lived with my pistol shrimp

    Awesome tank brother. I had to take my yellow tang back. He wouldn't leave my powder blue alone.

      I'm amazed how well it worked.. It distracted the yellow tang for the first day.. gave the powder blue time to settle in.
