Guys, I think it's about time that you set up another stream for OJ's perspective, since most of the wacky stuff usually happen to him anyway and will be useful to have it documented. Or at least consider recording his gameplay as well, whenever you play multi so that you can use the footage for videos.
I'm on act 2 nightmare with my amazon. Drops are more frequent in nightmare because more bosses spawn, which increases chance of finding better drops. Also, add some magic find. Just a little helps quite a bit.
Joe, you can use the cube to do a lot of stuff. You can upgrade gems, runes, potions, and create gear. Think of it like an oven, you use crafting recipes to upgrade and craft things.
Psyched to see u guys play one of my fav games of all time. Played the original d2 for a solid 15+ years, and when d3 was a disappointment, I uninstalled d3 (aka error 34) and continued enjoying d2. The blizzard we used to love will never come back, but glad that they at least didn't mess up this remaster.
for rushing act 3 you have to beat the counsil in travencal with the rushee present, then they can go to durance of hate afterward. if your looking for regular socketed items they are only in the vendors in act 1 and 2 normal, any acts or difficulties higher everything the vendors have is magic. early game you can save chipped gems and once you have a cube and the right magic weapon type you can cube 3 chipped gems and a weapon together and it rerolls the mods and gives it 1 or 2 sockets, it will be a magic weapon so not good for runewords but you can reroll it till you get the stats that can roll on it up to a certain level plus socets that you can add gems runes or jewels to. like perhaps a sorceress orb with 2 socets and hope for decent skill you might want to use then find jewels with resists on them or damage taken goes to mana and it can make for a decent early weapon. also just an easy way to get gold early just reroll the cheap wands or scepters you find in the vendors till they have skills on them then resell them for max gold for whatever act your in, at least if not going to use them. if playing a necro or paladin dont reuse the same one once you get skills on it when trying to make a usable one, reset the vendors and buy several cheap ones and try each and sell the junk ones and keep the best if you have enough chips. you can also do the same later on with flawless gems and get slightly higher stat rolls for your weapons if you havent found a good unique or decent runeword items yet.
Like a lot of people I've played the hell out of this game. Awesome to see it so pretty now. Seriously considering buying it again for my PS4. Great warts n all stream. Thank you.
@@accursedfm rookie numbers. Fill it up till you only have an 4x2 slot or 8 open squares. Then youll be rocking it, hell my uber smiter has 0 open inventory thanks to charm usage.
1:15:29 most items that drop have the potential to be good/great. you can find near gg end game items fairly early. some sets are nice like tal rashas but some are meh. some uniques can also be handy. white/grey items can be used as bases for runewords if you so choose. Im still rocking 30%frw, dual res, mf boots since i havent found better pair for my sorc.
Joe, the game was built for new players like you. You're supposed to test out skills and items, and can still beat Normal difficulty. Then use what you learned to re spec at later Nightmare and Hell difficulty (because in later difficulties it's impossible to beat without a thought out build and equipment). So while in Normal, test and sample everything. Do what you naturally want to do.
Diablo 2 is pretty much the template for modern ARPGs and the fact we are getting this remaster tells me they see this as the temple to Diablo 4 that's a good thing. Also little bit of an admission that over all Diablo 3 was a flawed game

I actually feel bad for him a bit, the assholes in chat don't explain WHY 12 points isn't ideal. It's not BAD but like 99% of people playing sorc who know what's up don't put but 1. But the WHY is that you get gear with + to all skill which ends up pumping it up plenty and the points you'd spend on Warmth really end up being needed to pump your damage on whatever elemental skills and their "synergies" you're dumping into. Glad to see these guys jamming some D2 even if they don't super hardcore go deep into Hell mode or anything.
Chat fukd up BADLY when explaining the respec. Like why even SAY that "you can respec anytime", when it's a once use reward? What idiot said that to a new player? There's only ONE way that someone reads that, and it's how Joe did.
well not quite once use, its once per difficulty so 1 normal 1 nightmare and 1 hell, after that you have to collect essences from the main bosses in hell mode if you need more respecs.

can’t agree, in LoD i always had good yellow loot on all the acts and even 1 green one now and then. Never ever i had to carry an act 1 loot in act 4. Couldn’t be just my luck, but i did always played single player, so maybe that’s why
Start with 3, 2 is nothing except nostalgia, as some1 with 0 diablo 2 nostalgia, I tried playing 2 a few years ago before 3 and it just felt extremely archaic, dated, boring and a complete slog to play through. Don't listen to haters who only played 3 at launch. Thanks to all the updates 3 is a great game now actually and really fun to play.
It depends on your age. D2 mechanics and gameplay is very hard. D3 more user friendly they pamper you. Don't need to think just whack. While D2 u put skill wrong u die lol. New kids want the easy way so they prefer D3. Only D2 vanilla players play this game. I'm gonna intro this to my son. But I am guessing he will hate it 😂
I believe the Revenant was a Diablo 1 clone so if you like that then you would probably like D2. If you want a game that has an exceptional dark gothic atmosphere where you have to think and plan and that rewards learning and dedication, then D2. If you want a flashy, but shallow immediate gratification game that plays just like many mobile games today, then D3. Not having really have to think or learn anything in D3 has an appeal, it's just mindless fun right away and many like that more. D2 takes patience and learning like more RPGs of the 90s and early 2000s era, but is consequently deeper and more rewarding. Many, especially with most games today, may find that boring.

If you want a game where you will have 0 fun with experimentation unless you copy/paste a meta build (what they call "skillfull gameplay" ROFL).Also D2 is mostly spamming 1 boring ability that you build your entire character around while in D3 you have several abilities and can change them on the fly.
@@John21WoW There's more to it than that, but you're entitled to your opinion. D2 certainly has meta builds.. it's part of any game like this.. and so does D3. D3 does not even have monster immunities though, so it does not matter if you use one or a bazillion different skills as they mostly do the same thing. Poison, lightning, fire, physical.. it's all the same, just in different colors. Fighting monsters is a cluster of damage numbers with little care of what you are actually up against. Higher difficulties are just about bigger numbers in D3 and improving gear you mostly already have. Changing abilities "on the fly" so easily might be fun and allow experimentation when you are new and I originally was ok with this system, but now realize that it ultimately hurts character build identity, challenge and immersion. It allows your character to be a jack of all trades with no weaknesses. It's supposed to be a game that requires building a character with strengths and weaknesses using RPG mechanics, not a shooter with different "loadouts".
Vicarious have done a beautiful job (except some little issues with the cinematics) but considering Blizzard's fallout in recent years, they should have done the consumer-friendly thing with this reskinned old game and put it out for a nominal price, at least for those that already own the old one. Personally, i probably still wouldn't buy it, despite spending hundreds of hours on the old one, as i simply don't support their greedy, predatory, corporate practices, but at least they could have won back some points.

Wow you complain you didnt get any good drops while ignoring the magefists that dropped at 1:25:00, they are one of the best caster gloves in the game

Ehh the game originally did not have a respec system, it was quite harsh. But yeah anything will work in normal.
