    This is the best oil change video for the Xmax 300 I've seen so far. It's so nice to watch a video that completely focuses on the subject at hand rather that forcing viewers to listen to pointless blather because the videographer is in love with the sound of their own voice. Thank you for keeping it simple and to the point.

      Desta vez fui para um oleo MB semi- sintético vamos ver que tal.
      Os oleos MB têm o nivel mais baixo de fricção dos oleos de motas e prometem melhores consumos.
      Vamos ver!

    Nice video, straight and to the point. If I had a XMax Scooter for sure I'd be able to do this oil change at home. The cartridge filter looks like a little bit of a pain to keep centered as the cover goes on. Is that self-centering as it seats inside the housing? I think the XMax 300 launched in the USA back in 2018/2019 or so. Yamaha USA shows it's available for 2020/2021 too. I think it's just about sold everywhere in the world now, so this will be a very useful video to many people. Did the drain plug require a copper or aluminum crush washer? Did Miguel the Cat visit you while you were out working in the garage? LOL Cheers!

      Miguel the cat couldn't care less about motorcycle maintenance!!
      The cartridge filter is self centering, there's a tab on the cover that centers it.
      It's quite straight forward.
      Great hearing from you two!!

    I had trouble resetting the 'serv - oil' indicator & the oil tripmeter. I did it several times before I got it right. The instructions seem all correct. Press the Trip/Info button on the handlebar to the left to scroll to the oil tripmeter. Press and hold the button to the left again for a few seconds until the oil tripmeter starts flashing. And press and hold it for 15 seconds to reset. But I think the issue is I had to be pretty well exactly 15 seconds. Eventually, when the tripmeter was flashing, I started holding and counting the number off flashes to get it right. First time I held for 12 flashes. No good. Then 13, 14, and then 15 flashes of the 'oil' - voila, it reset. Hope that helps.

    I have a question, I put my xmax 10W40 semi synthetic motor oil MA2, is there a problem that the motor for scooter that is MB does not put, I also want to know if I can put 100% synthetic oil?

    • @bikesmith
      @bikesmith  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The MA2 is fine for your scooter.
      You can use both MA or MB oil types.
      Motorcycles with wet clutch (so not the Xmax) can only use MA oils.
      And yes, you can use 100% synthetic oil with absolutely no issue!

      i use motul 7100, it’s probably overkill but i try to take very good care of my bikes. for summer, hot temps and harder riding i go synthetic. it’s properties remain more consistent.

    Hi Alex, how are you? it's me again.
    Could you help me with these issues? What can I do to improve the brakes? I already put sintered pads on it, but I feel like I have to tighten the lever a lot to be able to brake well. Also what tires do you recommend me to put on them, I'm seeing the pirelli and you brigestone, but I still haven't decided. Regarding the suspension, this bike is a bit tough, what do you recommend I do to the fork and the rear shock absorbers?

    • @bikesmith
      @bikesmith  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi.
      If you haven't already, change the brake fluid and bleed the brakes. That makes a HUGE difference.
      Oh, and give it some time for the new brake pads properly bed in.
      Mine (I'm using EBC HH Scooter sintered pads) took the best part of 300 miles or so to bed in.
      The front forks will benefit from new oil (video coming). The rear shocks... you're kind of stuck with it.
      Have you tried softening them by using less pre load?
      Again, they will get softer with time.
      I'm riding on Michelin's city grip , no complaints there.
      I've head the Dunlop's scootsmart are comfortable but haven't tried them myself.

    • @bikesmith
      @bikesmith  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, that is normal.
      After about 5k km it won't use that much oil.
