Glad to see the last few updates we're seeing some of the best albums you didn't review. Some of the albums I was mostly surprised ya'll didn't review. That Gigan album is insanely underrated
Necrotic Nick- Yeah, I wanted to make sure some of the glutton of releases that came out in October in November got some coverage on here and some of those you might be seeing again on my year end list.
Amazing collection update. The new Gigan, Iotunn, Schammasch, and Kanonenfieber are all amazing and some of my favorite albums of the year. Those first two Solitude Aeturnus albums are stone cold classics in doom metal.
Necrotic Nick- Thanks, man! Yeah, I've been wanting to get these last 2 out as I had some key releases I wanted to cover for this year as well as that killer collection of the first 2 Solitude Aeturnus albums. Both of those flat out rule.
Necrotic Nick- Sup, man! Yeah, I'd been sitting on that one for awhile. Pretty solid stuff but I think it might have been a tad overhyped in my opinion. Not to it's detriment though. It's still a banger.
Necrotic Nick- Thanks, man! Yeah, I'm a huge Every Time I Die fan so I was pretty hyped for that one and it honestly exceeded my expectations. Cheers, man!
Definitely going to pick up that Gigan album. It sounds like it does everything I love. Saw them live years ago but don’t own any albums. Thanks Nick 🤘🤘
Necrotic Nick- Get ready for a wild musical ride with that one, man. It's bizarre as hell but it oddly comes together pretty well. Love the new Schammasch but I might dig the last one a bit more.
This was a great round up Nick! Those first two Solitude Aeturnus albums are so good, especially the second one. I actually really dug that High Parasite album, maybe it'll grow on you over time. Yeah Iotunn are amazing, definitely one of my favourite releases of the year!
Necrotic Nick- Thanks, man! I love both of those Solitude Aeturnus album but Beyond the Crimson Horizon might take the cake. That album is magnificent. I still can't get into that High Parasite outside of a few tracks and the fact that I'd say that project is causing a bit of a rift in MDB makes it tougher to get into. That new Iotunn is killer. I think they even surpassed their awesome debut with that one.
Those Solitude aeturnus first 2 albums are masterpieces of doom so dam good seeds of the the desolate and the hourglass 2 of their best songs and rob lowes vocals absolutely epic great band.
Necrotic Nick- I loved them both but I'd have to give the slight edge to Beyond the Crimson Horizon. That album in particular blew me away and I'd even put it up against some of Candlemass's best albums. When Rob got a little bit more gruffness to those vocals it gave the music a much more sinister vibe. Most of their discography is amazing in my opinion and even the albums I think are slightly weaker are still solid as fuck.
Another awesome update Nick! Schammach, Iotunn, Gigan, Fleshcrawl, High Parasite, Transport League, Solitude Aaternus. Man, I think you may have surpassed 2,000 CDs by now.
Necrotic Nick- Thanks, man! Yeah, there were quite a few bigger ones I wanted to make sure I covered before doing my year end list. Overall, I have way more than 2000 CDs though.
Congrats on finally getting those first 2 Solitude albums, besides the 3rd album 'Darkest Hour', the first 2 are prolly the best 2, amazing progressive heavy doom metal at it's finest hour!!!! If I had to pick only one though, it would definitely be 'Beyond The Crimson Horizon', stellar riffs and songwriting all the way through, just push play!
Necrotic Nick- Those were the 2 I was missing and honestly the ones I wanted the most. Trying to find OG's was fruitless as people wanted a lot of money for them so the collection works out well. Darkest Hour is one of my personal favorites as well. It might be a toss up between that one and Beyond the Crimson Horizon as to which one is my favorite. Honestly, even the albums I thought were a tad weaker were still pretty solid so you really can't miss with this band in general in my opinion.
High Parasite - Sounded like early 2000s Paradise Lost to me. Iotunn - Top 3 of the year for me. Solitude Aeturnus - Love those albums. Also made me like the Lowe Candlemass era a lot more. Kanonfieber - Just got into these guys. This album is incredible.
Necrotic Nick- I was not really impressed with High Parasite honestly. I'd much rather have Aaron doing his thing in My Dying Bride. Iotunn was killer and both of those Solitude Aeturnus albums are amazing. Kanonenfieber I thought was really good but maybe a tad over hyped for as much as people were glowing it up. Still, pretty damn good.
Necrotic Nick- I love hearing that old crossover sound where the bands are just losing their shit. It's so much fun to jam that stuff. I still haven't had a chance to check out Ungfell. It's been busy as hell here for awhile but January should give me a chance to check out a lot of the stuff I missed this year.
Necrotic Nick- Pretty damn close for me. If I had to pick which one would be my clear 5 out of the 2 it would be Beyond the Crimson Horizon though. That album is sooooooo fuckin' good.
Killer collection dude
Necrotic Nick- Thanks, man!

@thrallsofmetal have you listened to that Sumac album?
All those times you said “saving it for a collection update” huh 👍🏽
😂 I know, right? The guy never stops!
@ 😄
Necrotic Nick- Back to back ones no less lol

That Better Lovers album is so good! ETID with Greg = yes plz
Necrotic Nick- Dude, that album fucking rules. It's so outwardly hostile and explosive. I need to check out the first EP too.
@ the 30 under 13 video and song is 🔥
Found it! Thanks for the headsup. Local heroes LIFESICK 🎉
YES! Necrotic Nick finally talking about Kanonenfieber’s new album! 🎉🎉🎉
Necrotic Nick- Sup, man! Yeah, I'd been sitting on that one for awhile. Pretty solid stuff but I think it might have been a tad overhyped in my opinion. Not to it's detriment though. It's still a banger.
Will any of you guys go to the Meshuggah, Cannibal Corpse and Carcass US-tour next year? 🤘
Necrotic Nick- There's a chance for sure. That's a pretty stacked lineup.
Enjoyed the video as always - better lovers is a new one for me and is now added to the wanted list. Cheers!!
Necrotic Nick- Thanks, man! Yeah, I'm a huge Every Time I Die fan so I was pretty hyped for that one and it honestly exceeded my expectations. Cheers, man!

New Schammasch is a masterpiece
Necrotic Nick- Get ready for a wild musical ride with that one, man. It's bizarre as hell but it oddly comes together pretty well. Love the new Schammasch but I might dig the last one a bit more.
Amazing collection! This collection shows how true metalhead you are
Necrotic Nick- Thanks, man!

I love Black Curse but I was shocked IOTUNN didn't win that poll
Necrotic Nick- Yeah, I surprised too and I think Iotunn finished somewhere near the bottom of that poll too.
Those Hirax albums are plenty of fun. Did you catch up with the new Ungfell album?
Necrotic Nick- I love hearing that old crossover sound where the bands are just losing their shit. It's so much fun to jam that stuff. I still haven't had a chance to check out Ungfell. @@thrallsofmetal cheers Nick
Hey Nick, have you listened to the EP Better Lovers did before the album??
Necrotic Nick- Not yet but I'm probably going to snag that at some point.
@ Yeah you definitely should, it’s as good as the stuff on the album! 👍
In my opinion, those first two Solitude Aeturnus records are 5.0/5.0
Necrotic Nick- Pretty damn close for me. If I had to pick which one would be my clear 5 out of the 2 it would be Beyond the Crimson Horizon though. That album is sooooooo fuckin' good.
i believe it was ...34,28 % Nick (regard MDB)
Necrotic Nick- For the life of me I can never remember that album title lol.
