There isn’t they much left over. Maybe about 4” on each end. It’s really hard to make barrel knots without enough leather. You can use them to create an end with a button. I do that often.

Hey Kelly! I don’t think I’ve ever done that in a video but of course it’s pretty easy as you would just tie an extra set of knots to make it longer.
