Is linen easier to embroider when doing thinker strands? What size needle do you prefer?
I use a large embroidery needle, like DMC (embroidery) number 3. I like to use linen fabric, it is easy to work with.

You can, if it is enough dense and there is not too much space between the fibers in fabric.
