    Thanks for making a video that shows where the average person might make a mistake, and how you addressed this. This is far more useful than seeing someone who does this often. If I was a pro, I wouldn’t need the video.

    I have done my Profictec Pro 600 a few times and just two days ago I decided to remove the mushroom first then simply remove the entire lever body while leaving the lever installed. After removing the mushroom trun the large hex adjacent to the main group and back it out. Clean the cam with some scotchbrite and scrub off the top of the bottom valve stem and the bottom of the mushroom valve. Apply grease to all of the just cleaned surfaces. Reinstall the cam in the same position in which it was removed. Tightrn the large hex and then reinstall the mushroom and tighten. Easy peasy. That way you aren't fighting both the upper and lower springs. I grease mine twice a year when I change my in tank water softner. One hint for you. Use a strips of electricians tape on the wrench jaws to prevent scratching the chrome plating.

    Just did this myself on my Profitec. I had a little trouble getting the cam back in place, but your trick of putting the handle on gave me enough grip that I could get it in. Thanks for the video!

    Good morning from Scotland Cajourno
    Really hope you are well during these terrible times.
    Great job done there, fixing the squeaky e61 lever, at least you can admit that you got it wrong at the start..
    I sold my Bianca and bought a La Marzocco Linea Mini and the Mazzer Mini Lux D grinder, a wee retirement present to myself, just love it.
    Nice to see your cat having some fun, I’m just going to head out with my Shepherd Autumn for a walk now, very warm in Scotland at the moment, global warming has went mad here.
    We have never ever had weather like this in Scotland.
    Kind regards to you,

      Hi Johnny and good morning from Quebec! Wow so glad for you that you treated yourself with a excellent retirement present that machine and grinder are what dreams are made of 😃. Enjoy the warm weather. You made my morning.
      Kind regards to you,

      @@audriusa7005 Hi, first of all I am very sorry for the late reply. I had the Bianca and found it a very good machine, loved the profiling on it, La Marzocco Linea Mini doesn’t have that. I started of with a Sage Oracle and enjoyed it, very easy to use but as I got into coffee I wanted a better machine. I bought the Bianca and enjoyed it immensely but always wanted the LM, I bought the full package, La Marzocco Linea Mini and the Mazzer Mini Lux D grinder all from LM. The LM does not have a timer but I just use my scales and find my coffee is just beautiful, steaming is far superior to the Bianca, also love the slide out water tank.
      I bought this set up as a retirement present to myself, this machine will see me out probably, I will say one thing though, put my Bianca on a well known auction site, couldn’t believe the bids I received, wish I had more of them to sell.
      As for maintenance, I find the LM very easy to do, just ordered the wooden upgrades for my machine so looking forward to receiving it soon.
      I really hope this answers your question, as you will know, a lot of coffee depends on the beans that you purchase, I always like yourself and Charles purchase fresh beans from a fantastic roaster in England, it makes all the difference in taste.
      Kind regards from Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

    I was using a Quick mill Andreja premium heat exchanger machine for ten years, before switching for a Lelit Elizabeth. Almost every time I cleaned the E-61 group I had to lubricate it with Dow grease to keep it smooth. Without it the cam wears quickly and squeaks. Good job. But think about a double boiler without the beautiful E-61 group head: much easier to operate and to keep clean without that hassle, and the risk to scratch it.

      @@CajournoOddity What you will probably do, like many E-61 users, is back flushing your group with water almost every day, and disassembling the shower screen frequently to wash the inside. So less need to use a detergent with the whole group and greasing the cam and lever. Watch the videos of Dave Corbey about espresso machines and cleaning procedures. Have a nice day.

    • @CajournoOddity

      @@fredericl6190 I rarely use the cleaning powder for that reason, but I can start back flushing with water more. I love Dave Corbey so I will go watch for sure. Thank you for your comment. Nice day to you to!

    Guys, if someone needs the correct wrenches for the metric system - use the 23 mm and 27 mm sizes. Tested =)

    If you want to do this faster, take the top valve out. Loosen the top nut and then remove it, the spring and the valve with pliers. Then remove the handle. Then using the inner nut only remove the cam assembly all at once. You don't have to take the whole cam and shaft out. Lubricate the cam all over all faces and then insert it back in, which will be way easier with the top vavle out. Make sure the cam is in the upper position, which means there is no friction. Tighten the cam assembly and operate to make sure you're good and then drop the valve and spring back in the top hole and put the nut back.
    The squeaking noise is coming from the cam and valves rubbing together because you cleaned the coffee residue off them. I use my machine A LOT and wore these part out with occassional lubrication. If you don't lubricate the parts they wear faster. To those that don't feel the need to lubricate or check parts, the machine will flow less and less and you'll be compensating for it because you don't notice. Eventually the cam and valve actualing face is so worn, you can't lift the valce high enough and admit water to the grouphead.
    Dan't ask me how I know this...

    Nice
    Although when doing backfush with detergent, then the e61 leaver always gets degreased unfortunately:(
    So if we do the cleaning every month then we have a lot of maintenance to do unfortunately. Only downside to have the e61

    • @CajournoOddity
      @CajournoOddity  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are right, so I do the cleaning with the detergent less often now.

    • @AzizIzgin
      @AzizIzgin 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@CajournoOddity So this is a balance to not use too much detergent 😂…
      I mean I’d rather do more often back flush after every shot without detergent so that it’s cleaner for a longer time and then when I use detergent I’ll use less just to keep the “natural lubricant “ from the coffee oils doing their magic and keeping the leaver from jamming… squeaking.
      I’ve had mine for over a year now and this the only downside to my machine(all with E61).
      Nice video
      Keep up the good work
