Tip: Use 16x16 bricks. They have holes, so it should be a whole Lot easier to connect them. I'm currently trying to build something similiar but with star wars and I have 9 of these bricks myself
Add a new bunker piece to the build! That would add some depth, you can have offensive bunkers with machine guns near the front of the line or have storage bunkers near the back
@@ScotsPlastic glad you liked them. Love to see them executed. just found your channel earlier when i made my comment. Great content and i look forward to see more.
Suggestions: • Recon stations • Overlook Elivated platforms (sandbag crows nest) • Munition storage • Wood & stone bunkers (communications, field planning, heavy machine gun placements) • Embedded cellar infirmary • Bunkhouse • Heavily defended quartermaster station • Food storage and trench mess area (with firepits) • Trench entrances and exits (slopes to meet the elevation differences between "ground level" and the trench level) • Artillery and mortar positions (they're more open than other areas of the trench, think one trench wall or corner per module) • Vehicle repair covered embankments • Runner or messenger outposts
You could slap a cross on that Mk. IV and call it a Beutepanzer. This would handle the issue of not having a German Tank. They were also a lot more common than their A7V counterparts, as there were only about 20 produced. Shame the K-Wagen didn’t see any action…
True, it was more common for Germans to steal British tanks, German troops captured almost 700 tanks and converted 350 into a German style! So it would make more sense than using the A7V
To make it more realistic make one trench module damaged by artillery shelling, sometimes it happens on real battlefield and in my mind it will look great
I am inspired by Scot, and used to hate Legos, but now that Scot is with me with these WW1 and WW2 Lego Mini Figs, I am going to this website and buying them all. Thank you Scot! Btw i love your videos.
You are the only TH-camr who can make we watch a sponsorship because the way you present it is hilarious, this video is really good and this build is stunning! Great job!
I would recommend you buy the lego indiana jones fighter plane chase set so you could get a wwII German plane and some of the avatar military builds for a ww3 or futuristic war builds and for the modules maybe a storage one with shells and bullets! Also love the content and love to see some Canadian soldiers in these builds!
You should add artillery positions as well as dugouts which were small makeshift bunkers (a hole underground) that connect the trench modules and have removable roofs
I think you should put a mortar or artillery nest so that i look more alive rather than you put mini figure in the back and i think you shout build like the bunker in the ground because back in that time they use alot in the trench
Scot's nerdy corner part 9, double parter as I may have forgotten last time: One of the people who created chlorine gas, Fritz Haber, later recieved a nobel prize. These two things aren't directly related as he won the prize for the haber-bosch method which made agriculture more effective, and you probably live cause of it. 2nd part of part 9: The famous moustache man, german one, got his famous toothbrush moustache due to his old moustache not being fit for gas mask use, at least that is a claim why he had it, which could be true as he was gassed in WW1.
There should be holes and tunnels in the sides of the trenches that have sleeping quarters, medical, and other stuff like that. Smooth plates and jumper plates could be used to make the surface of these subterranean rooms pop off easily.
We are binging your content man-it’s -54 F in Montana. Trapped inside here. Your world war 1 builds are keeping the attention of adults and our 2 & 4 year olds… so… you’re a genius. Cheers!
Try using technic pins to hold it together on the base plates. You'll need an extra support layer of atleast one brick and another layer of base plates so that you can add attachments on the sides for pins to slot in, but it'll be much more rigid than a simple 2x2 brick on top. It also has a satisfying snap!
I have 2 new ideas, a module were it goes up to the surface, and one were its a machine gun module that has 2 side accessible areas, geat vid! Cant wait for part 2!
How about making a half-built endcap module that's in the process of being constructed by sappers? Or a section that's basically been turned into a crater by an artillery shell?
Module ideas: Bunker Module Dug out module (entrance and under ground rooms) Regular straight trench module BUT half of it was destroyed by a bomb Modules that have nothing in them so the invaders can stand there Plain modules with barbed wire Grass modules for behind it A module of the entrance way into the trench Edit: he’s never gonna see this comment is he?
A suggestion I would make is to use a large base plate for the entire trench, however make it so that the where each trench piece would go, you have each corner raised by a half block in a 3 stud V 90 degree shape. This would make it so that each trench piece can be easily swapped out when needed, but secured enough that it doesn't get bumped off by mistake.
I suggest using 1x2 bricks with technic pin holes placed 1 stud away from the corners on the first layer of bricks. 2 on each side of the module so it’s mirror symmetrical. That way you can use technic pins to hold modules together hidden inside the build itself and not reliant on placing tiles on the top of the build to hold modules together. If the build is consistent in having tall corners, like I believe this one is, you can also add them near the top for more stable connections
A suggestion for connecting, I think you should use technic pieces to connect one plate(or section) to another and be able to pull them out easily afterward.
Could be cool with some bigger pieces that still fit within the 16 block grid, maybe some 16x32 and 32x32 pieces could help with adding some diagonal stuff and other less generic patterns.
I can see it in his eyes. He is holding back tears because he dismantled his old builds and thinks this one isn’t good enough. But really it’s a very good idea and I will like to see more of it in the future. Keep up the great work 👍🏾❤!!!
Hey, Scot plastic I love your vids and u should probably put a blown up artillery near the pot hole so then it’s more interesting that the enemy artillery got direct hit
Im not gonna download discord to make a suggestion, but if you're still working on it you should make a trench thats been blown out and made impassable by a shell & some rubble
The basic ww1 machinegun nest was not very different from a mortar or anti aircraft position. albiet those would be farther to the rear. Some AA guns like the british QF 1-pounder "pom-pom" (essentially a standard vickers heavy machinegun up redisgned to fire 37mm flak rounds, the germans also used it under the designation "Maxim Flak M14") would fit the exact same module but guns like the German 8.8 cm Flak 16 or the British QF 12-pounder 12 cwt would need a module just to itself with additional modules forming the trench around it. Despite the fact that these guns were very rarely close enough to the front to need entrenchment, it did happen. Another thing, the whole point of trenches is to protect troops from things like shrapnel from nearby artillery hits and machinegun fire. As tested by mythbusters, long sections of trench are more deadly than standing out in the open as they amplify the concusive blast. As well as being a funnel for defilade fire, the machine gunner's other wet dream. Try breaking up those long straight lines as much as you can. As its shown there those reinforcements are just asking to get mowed down by a Kraut MG-08/15 or blown to bits by artillery

Clever idea having it modular.
Putting 'water' in the crators might help.
had the same thought during the vid

Bunker module (command or depot)
Forward spotter module
Love both of those!

Use technic pins to interlock the modular blocks so its as simple as taking it off aswel as so it is still easy to assemble

just slap a cross on it!
Of course it's the Australian charging over the top with a trench club 😂 love that detail 🇦🇺⚔️💪🏻

indiana jones fighter plane chase is a great idea
@@ScotsPlastichmmm sounds like I might figure out what the next video will be…
You should honestly start selling these as kits, and I would actually buy them
Me to
You should add bunkers and trenches leading up to them
yeah, I think it needs that - seems to flat and uninteresting to me
It was worth it it’s one of my most favorite videos that you have made so far!
You should make a destroyed trench section and bunker section
You should add artillery positions as well as dugouts which were small makeshift bunkers (a hole underground) that connect the trench modules and have removable roofs
Dude you’ve improved so hard. So proud of you!
the detail in this build was a bit lower than the last one HOWEVER its modular which does restrict it a bit
it’s amazing still, great job!
@@ScotsPlasticYeah, it does make sense. But it’s still better than whatever I could do.
oh boy a new Lego series this one is called "Lego War" hmmm very original name! hope they release more sets!

You could also use connector pins to stick it together more
Both top tier suggestions

Shouldve did a male and female connector on all sides of the bases so they can slid into each other easily and not move around or misalign.
