In the earlier interviews, RM did say they had no idea they would get as big as they did…(and it scared the shit out of suga who said he closed his eyes and expected maybe floor 15 but when he opened his eyes he was on the 60th.) and the bigger the light the bigger the shadow. Really none of them saw this coming. Now you have the KSA (Korean Singers Association) asking them NOT to take a break because all of kpop is riding on them. THAT was a shit storm on Twitter with ARMY and no doubt that head of KSA got a few letters/tweets and trended…should check that one out. They are being sucked dry because now they are supposed to carry the whole industry, where kpop sure as hell didn’t support them in the beginning…in fact “kpop” tried to kill them.

He is such a talented and multifaceted artist. We have seen his happy smiling side but he is human and like all of us has many sides. He is being vulnerable and letting us "in" to see his inner dialogue. This is an amazing song and I hope he burns even brighter.
Also, it's interesting to Know Arson in Korean means "preventing fire" and in English, it's the total opposite meaning "Setting somewhere deliberately on fire" so in the "If anyone asks me" verse he is playing with the meaning too. So cool honestly.

The fact that Mic drop is also one of Jhope's creations!! The whole song was written with the lead of Jhope's verse in the song. He has such a major role in BTS banger songs and damn, couldn't expect less than Arson and More !!
dictionary told me korean tittle 방화 can have two meanings that are actually the opposite: fire prevention and *arson*

Regarding the house and the money, i think he meant it literally ^^. And i'd love it when he really did mean it, it's so relatable as everyone of us once dreamt of it. It's an "easy" and commen dream, and sometimes you're a bit ashamed of having had it (maybe even just a glimpse) one time in your past... the smile fits ;)
His album is so personal, way beyond what I expected and I freaking love it. We all know how brave and versatile he is but man, he is just beyond everything. This album, as his first solo is like a declaration and confession. My guy talks about anything he wants even considering taboo among Kpop and makes songs about any genre, I can't wait for his coming up works in the future at all, he is so unexpected. And Hoseok ended his album with "If anyone asks me" verse and damn that's just genius. Love how many different layers this guy has. Just proud of him so much.

I live the old hiphop beat of the song and I also love how catchy it is.

Such a cool perspective that he's returning to the scene of Mic Drop. It makes total sense because that is when BTS really REALLY blew up especially internationally.
Beat reminds me of a Cypress Hill beat cant get my finger on the title tho.

this song is simply a banger. the lyrics are phenomenal. How he compared his fame to fire .. an arson made by him that makes him shine as nothing else would, but hurts so deep at the same time. Growing day by day with more light and more pain and it lefts him wondering if he should stop that or not..? if all the fun and whatever comes with fame is worth it?!
And finally my fav scene where he shows his heart beating like crazy for music while literally being ON FIRE!!!! he is still passionate about music no matter how hurt it got him, or how bad the situation is... This man is a GENIOUS.
and the beat as well ? it is just perfect. I can't wait to see his next project AND the ons after. His music is ma thing now 🔥
I think the burning house could be one of two things, or possibly both: his fire destroyed/damaged his relationship with his family and also prevented him from being able to have a family of his own.

Hey, did you watch Agust D' s (Suga) MVs from his first mixtape? This video reminds me of them a lot, and a specially "give it to me' one. And I found it really ironic how Suga was actually "asking" for everything, like fame, money, success. And now j-hope represents kinda what happend after that.

I hope you get to the whole album in order (even if you don't do it here) because it really is a more nuanced journey than More and Arson would lead you to believe. It's... art. More is nearer the beginning of the album, and is kind of wild and unharnessed, whereas I think Arson, which comes at the end, is more a refined (IMO) summary. Anyway, I enjoy your well-considered observations!

I wouldn't be surprised if the house symbolizes HYBE. He's really breaking from the role and the styling that the label had laid out for him within the group. He also had that Vlive where he danced out his aggression. I've always thought of Hobi as the " firm mom" (to RM's papa) in BTS, Momma put his dreams on hold for the babies and now is going all out!

Bts has always made old 90’s hiphop and rock fusion music. That was their beginning sound and has always been at their core despite the popularity of their pop fusion music. The ignorance of some people is astounding. Unwilling to actually do research and listen, but are always the loudest with their opinions
