I feel like one of the more terrifying details from the book that every adaptation of War of the Worlds doesn't seem to use is the fact the heat rays don't have a visible beam in the books. They're first described in the book "as if a invisible yet intensely heated finger were drawn through the heather between me and the Martians". I can understand the wow factor associated with including a cool looking, bright, powerful beam. But something about not having an easy way to tell where the moving patch of firey death is coming from feels a bit more terrifying to me.
Actually it didn't. The machines in the musical hardly look like the ones described in the book at all lol The musical goot the feel better i'll say that.
Tbh best tripod movie ever The 2005 was good, but always had the stress in it. 2019 was a scifi love story, and it was crap. 2023 is the best one. Cant change my mind
@@SpadesAnimations ~ Hello. No, the 2005 Spielberg movie did not feature the Thunderchild. The scene with the ferry boat was taken from Chapter 12 of the novel, in which ferries and other sailing vessels were available at the area where the Wey and Thames Rivers met to take evacuees away to safety. However, when some of the Martian war machines showed up (one of them close by), a panic started and terrified people were scrambling to access the sailing vessels which were suddenly taking off to escape the danger, leaving many individuals in the water. The chapter is entitled What I Saw Of The Destruction Of Weybridge And Shepperton. 🙂
This has to be the most accurate The War of the Worlds Adaptation, Horsell Common Is In It, The Artilleryman Is In It, Aswell With His Plan, Saddening That Thunderchild Isn’t In It Though.
This is nowhere better then the 2005 one. They would’ve made it better if they had time to add extra detail or something. Idk how to explain it but it looks terrible and bad. Atleast the characters was made well with the tendrils.
I just watched it, didnt have high expectations. Hoped just to be entertained, but my god it was awful and laughable at times! Waste of time and money!
@OeY4 no one said it was, but as shitty as the 2005 version was! This one was by far worse. This was laughably bad! But it's just opinions and ppl's perspective. And if someone liked it then, that's their right and opinion.

The BBC 2019 adaptation does it best, the non-visible heat ray from the "cylinder" and a barely visible one from the fighting machines
"Discount Speilberg Tripod isn't real."
Discount Speilberg Tripod:
Well, that heat ray doesn't look half bad.
The machines aim is so accurate it bypass the trees and kills people
Lol
In Wales 🐑 it has to go under 20 MPH 🚫
When will they make a scene like the book, only Jeff Waynes war of the worlds have got it right.

You missed the director!
I wonder where they got the sounds from?
this movie is good my opinion guys, also the 2005 version doesn't have a thunderchild or cylinders, kinda
this movie didn’t have any reference to Thunderchild, the 2005 version at least did with the ferry scene

Agreed, it wasn't good.
Very low budget
The changes of them making a good war of the worlds on a small budget was a millon to one he said.
