      Rule 6.01(a)(5) It is interference by a batter or a runner when: Any batter or runner who has just been put out, or any runner who has just scored, hinders or impedes any following play being made on a runner. Such runner shall be declared out for the interference of his teammate @@zeusdeuce7438
      Seems pretty cut and dry. The batter was put out, and impeded a play being made on a runner by walking directly in front of the catcher who was in the act of throwing to second. Throwing to second, in this case, is "making a play on the runner" - it doesn't matter if the runner at first was actually returning to first. The catcher attempted to make a play on the runner, and the correct call was made.

      Most of the kids on the canes are just paying for a ride. I’m not impressed with the future D1 commits. Our showcase team would’ve smoked those kids for breakfast, lunch and dinner. All of our pitchers threw 88-93mph and hit bombs. We had a few D1 commitments but man I just don’t see the talent here to play at that level.

    How do these people not know what batters interference is? That is textbook right there. You wonder why there is an official/umpire shortage in America? It’s cause players, coaches and spectators don’t know the rules and think everything has to go their way. That coach that said “do better” as he was walking off, that comment don’t sit well with me. How about he gets his ass behind the plate and calls the game? Ah no but he won’t. Classic.

      These fans and coaches don’t know the rules or even understand what it’s like to umpire baseball let alone travel ball… those umpires out there do 3 or 4 games a day…

    • @SchillerDuval
      @SchillerDuval 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I called HS ball in college for extra cash. I took a serious amount of time to learn rules, mechanics, and game management. Mainly from older, more experienced umpires. I took it seriously. The state of youth sports is dogshit. Atrocious. It’s the coaches and fans mainly. They DO NOT KNOW THE RULES. Coaches chirping from the dugout like it’s The Show. Coming out to argue basic RLI, obstruction, and interference calls. It’s gotten worse. We need more ejections and longer suspensions. I could go on but all I have to say is younger umpires need to know the state of youth baseball, and have the state of mind to deal with the bs going on. Eject early. Eject often.

    • @cartermaymon8387
      @cartermaymon8387 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@SchillerDuvalI hear ya buddy. I umpire myself and honestly watch these videos most of the time see what an umpires mechanics are and other things like that. Yeah these people don’t know the rules and I’ve really kinda have just stopped taking shit over the years. I love doing it I really do, but sometimes I wanna say to these people is “do you umpire? Do you want my shirt? You wanna come back here and call the game?” They usually don’t say anything back cause they know you’re right. But nah I never say it cause I don’t have the time of day for those people

    • @SchillerDuval
      @SchillerDuval 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@cartermaymon8387 I think the saving grace is that ALL umpires are in the game because they love it. They have no ill intent. We just love baseball and want to get better. But we also understand that at the end of day it’s a game. During my last couple of years at my association, I took an extremely aggressive approach to dealing with coaches. Some may have viewed it as hostile. But I never instigated. If a coach asked a question, I answered. If they continued to argue, even a little, I would respond aggressively and stop the conversation. And it worked. That is what it takes in this ridiculous youth baseball environment (unfortunately?).
      Keep doing what you’re doing, man. Your fellow umpires appreciate you and so do the players.

    Notice how I said major and not pro.
    Sure there's plenty of them that can go play rookie or A ball and get washed up and do nothing. Parents spending money they don't have betting on the future that will never come to fruition.
    Perfect game loves your money though😂
