    I've been stuck in the what I call fight or flight response for the last 8 years and felt like there's no way out. The recovery process stresses me out in itself. I literally feel like I'm starting to go insane, my sleep issues are getting worse and worse.

      Recovering from hyperstimulation is fairly easy and straightforward. 1. Stop worrying about symptoms. They will subside in time. 2. Reduce as much stress as possible. 3. Increase rest, especially deep relaxation. 4. Eliminate stimulants, especially caffeinated products. 5. Learn to tolerate your symptoms as being temporary. 6. Be patient. It takes time for the body to recover. Worry is one of the main reasons we get stuck.

      Thank you, I'm trying but just haven't been successful yet. I didn't realize my extensive symptoms were from anxiety, I thought it was from something else. I had 2 traumatic events happen within 2 months and that's when all hell broke loose@@anxietycentre

      My experience is that you can't relax or rest your way out of anxiety. Anxiety is a cycle of threat perception and risk assessment. Have you noticed that everything you do to get rid of anxiety makes your world smaller and more restricted?

    My main problem is that I get angry and frustrated with the pain and then it's hard for me to calm down. I just can't seem to make any real progress. Great video though. Thanks.

There are hundred of thousands different videos on youtube.i read your story and found that you did regular deep relaxation for months. Anything that helps you deeply relax will work. You might want to try a few and pick one you like the best. I experimented until I found one I liked, and then used it faithfully.

    Deep Breathing exercises definetely help but you have to be consistent and do them even when you feel relaxed. What works for me is 3 times a day spread out, 10 minutes each session with a daily total of 30 minutes.
    Long exhales and deep down to the belly inhales.

    • @anxietycentre
      @anxietycentre  ปีที่แล้ว

      We recommend relaxed diaphragmatic breathing rather than deep breathing, as some people over breathe into hyperventilation, causing symptoms similar to anxiety and even panic attacks. Something to be watchful for if you like deep breathing.

    Dear Jim, what do you think of an anxiety sufferer with agoraphobia? When i leave the house, hundreds of symptoms attack my body. Now, is this caused by hyperstimulation? Or due to amygdala? If the hyperstimulation is the reason, can reducing and eliminating stress and relaxing my body will let me go out without the symptoms? Or still i require exposure therapies?
    Hope you understand my question Sir. Thanks

    • @anxietycentre
      @anxietycentre  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I highly recommend working with an experienced therapist. We often need a lot of guidance, support, and encouragement to overcome agoraphobia. iI's not something we can easily do on our own. However, our therapists have worked with many people to overcome it and go on to live wonderful lives.

    OK - do here is a question for anyone who may know. There are two kinds of pain associated with mind body issues - as far as I know. 1) TMS style pain which is created by the brain to distract it long term and 2) Hyperstimulation pain that is caused by hormones and sleep deprivation, etc. It seems to me that these would be treated differently. If my pain is caused by the second, I really need to try to destress and not over exercise. For the first, I should push myself to get back to normal activities long enough for the body to realize that there is no danger in those activities. I think I am suffering from the second. Of course, it's hard to tell. However, the pain initially started as a response to anxiety attacks that were pretty intense for about 2 weeks. I have been getting stronger over the past few weeks and I was able tp do some long walks with some light swimming and a tiny bit of running ---- my pain never went away. However, yesterday I walked 15000 steps (usually I do 10,000) and I swam a bit more than usual, did some pushups and then I had to run about 4-500 meters. Usually, I run 100-200 meters. I also couldn't sleep for about half the night because I had food poisoning (apparently) and today, my leg muscles are burning pretty bad all over again. Seems I did a bit too much. These things are so tricky.

    • @anxietycentre
      @anxietycentre  ปีที่แล้ว

      i wouldn't agree with the two reasons for pain concept. However, chronic stress is a common cause of chronic pain. Since rigorous workouts stress the body, I'd avoid them until your body has recovered.

      Mr. Folk,
      I am consumed by extreme muscle burning, tremors, dizziness, neck, and upper back muscle / nerves burning. Being continuous makes my nerves or muscles to sting, like sharp pains. Times when my face is numb, my mind is numb, and depersonalization is freaking me out. You said you were in the top three percent ( I read your tough but inspiring story). Will my body recover after years and years of continuous "hammering" by my mind? I am so overwhelmed... in so much pain and so afraid of... something ( I don't know what really).
      Thank you for all that you do!

      @@anxietycentre I appreciate you taking the time to reply to my comment. I think I am also one of those in the top 3% of cases or close to it. I spend my time constantly flustered and unable to really process anything. I fixate on every little thing going on in my body. The floaters are one of the worst symptoms because I am convinced I have a brain tumor despite knowing (in my head) that I am experiencing a heightened state of awareness. I will continue to practice deep relaxation and prayer. I know I will get to where I want to go.

      We have many examples of how to do deep relaxation at our online Store. I personally like the Guided Journey 1 and Guided Journey 2 tracks because I like nature sounds. Other people prefer the Progressive Muscle Relaxation or the Guided Visualization versions. You might want to get one and give it a try. Deep relaxation can be an important part of recovery and maintaining success once attained. You can find our online Store here: www.anxietycentre-store.com.

      @@anxietycentre I'm so very stuck with the deep relaxation. I find it very very uncomfortable to be in my body. It has been buzzing and burning for 5 years (along with my head). It brings me huge terror and I'm constantly in fight flight. It's very hard to relax due to this relentless electrical buzzing. It happened after a catastrophic med switch 5 years ago (I've been on various Antidepressants for the last 20 years, changing when they 'poop out'. 5 years ago they switched me straight over from one to another with no cross taper, then put me on benzos for 6 weeks the cold turkied me off those). I believe I've been dealing with an adverse reaction to the med (although others they tried has the same effect... It's like my nervous system can't handle the meds now). But I have stayed on the same dose, as I've been dealing with my mother's Alzheimer's during these years (she passed away 9 months ago). So I don't know what's stress or what's med related. My gut tells me med, but given all meds are having this effect I don't know what to do. Have you seen this buzzing in someone that has never ever been on meds at all? It's so so uncomfortable to be in my body, it makes relaxation exercises impossible 😭😭😭
