Thumbs up for the served dinner. I just don't get the idea of the buffet style wedding dinner, just no. You're all dressed up, then you have to queue with your plate, you don't know what the options are, people looking into your plate, some options missing when you get there, one part of people is finished with the dinner, other still queueing. All in your heels, nice dress with so much food and people around the possibility of getting spillage on your garment is high. But that's European approach.
I had a plated dinner at my reception. If it's a casual wedding then maybe that works, but if your all dolled up it's so much better to have wait staff serve the dinner courses.
Wonderful video, wonderful advice. A recent wedding I attended hired a caricature artist that the guests sat for, which served as party favors. It was a huge hit. Tracy, I have that same CK dress

Great Video! It's funny how weddings are so different from state to state. In NY almost all weddings are plated dinners. I've never been to a buffet wedding. ( I'm the mother of 5 girls too...so blessed!)
You mentioned you went camping with your family as they were growing up. I'd love to see a video on that sometime, (if you're taking suggestions for video content)...how to plan and organize it all out, because in the past, it's been a bit stressful for me, so I dread it and try to avoid it, but I'd love to change that so that camping can be a fun, enjoyable, and successful outing for our family.
Excellent video I have 5 children as well but 4 boys and one girl and have 2 married already we had nothing to do with the weddings would have liked to know a little more as to what was going on but everything turned out fine in both weddings possibly the difference of having boys haha would love to see your daughter on videos again her attitude and outlook is so real! What an exciting time! One tip someone gave me before I got married; stop regularly throughout the day to just let it all sink in. It's over so fast, by taking regular mindful moments it really helps secure the memory in your mind, instead of being over in a blur. Also don't leave your bouquet at home......which I did 😅 it was all so exciting leaving the house, all the neighbours were in the street (as is the culture in the UK) and everyone including my family, my bridesmaids and myself forgot my bouquet which was laid out in the kitchen. By the time we realised it was too late to turn back! I could only laugh, it's all you can do! No one even noticed. So yes, top tips: be mindful and don't forget your bouquet! 😁 xx

We recently went to a wedding where they didn’t even have a wedding cake or a plated meal and they had cupcakes as a dessert . They didn’t have any kind of drinks with no sugar . We had to wait in line a long time for the buffet food . I’m not sure if that is a trend or what but it was def not enjoyable for the guest . I know it’s prob not nice to express my opinion about it but in a discussion about wedding planning and all , I think that even in modern times when planning a wedding the guest should def have to be taking in to consideration. Everything was a surprise so nobody knew what was coming and when . I worked at a catering place for many years and worked in a lot of weddings of many different cultures and I have never seen a wedding with no wedding cake . I will love to hear a conversation on where is the line between cutting cost when planning a wedding and still care about the guest having a pleasant experience.
Hi Tracy ... my daughter got married in Lake Tahoe on a beautiful sunny day. One thing that the planner did which I really liked was, normally the bride's family/friends sit on the side that the bride sits on, i.e., left side bride's family and bride stands to the left at the alter, and groom's family/groom on the right. At Melissa's wedding, Melissa stood on the left side at the alter, but her family/friends sat on the right. Why? Because we were able to witness all the beautiful emotions on our daughter's face rather than seeing the back of her head if we had been sitting on the left side of the alter (which is normally tradition). This sitting arrangement made it much more personal and emotional. Not sure if you have experienced this seating arrangement, but thought I would pass it on. Congratulations on this most joyous occasion!

Listening to you both has given me some insight as to our guest list is at 190 and I understand we really need to reduce that number to at least 160. Can you also include in your next video your find your seat name at the reception and the type of stationary (what you will be including in save the dates and invites). I’ve been all over Pinterest and still undecided.

No, an engagement party is not necessary. In fact I would lean towards not having one for that exact reason.
Remember the planner you were talking about the other day . I know that there’s is a lot of planners out there but none of them has a code inside with access to a Tracy seminar on how to use it 🤔. Just saying .
