I usually stay in this area. Plenty to do, decent prices and if you stray from Khao San itself - loads of cool, local stuff going on. Very nice video.
What an awesome Vlog . Thanks for this informative Vlog I think this is fantastic for people who are first timers to
Bangkok and want a place to stay or travel .
Thanks Paul. So many people must think where on earth this road is when they have never come to Thailand before
I definitely see the charm of coming over there after walking up and down sukhumvit , thanks for the vlog as always
As much as I like Asoke.. I feel like I’m in real Bangkok around khaosan to be honest
Loving the Vids Rob! Brilliant!
Me and Mrs will be in BKK early January. Let’s catch up for a beer!! All the best mate!
Deano.
Absolutely wicked video....brilliant...
Cant wait to return in december....first time we went to thailand the very first accomodation was in khaosan road.....
Cant stay away too long....
Love it....
These videos are brilliant....
Thanks.....
Great Vlog Rob every thing was spot on.
Actually thought I was there the way you presented every thing.
Thank you my friend.. the WTF series of my videos will only be for places I know the most about.. other areas will be more of an exploring type video 👍🏻
Love this place. First visited KSR in 2004, last time 2016… i can see its changed a lot. (Usually stay down soi rambuttri)
It seems to be getting better and better each week.. more bars and clubs.. more food vendors as well 👌🏻
Less than four years ago, I stayed at the Hansar between Lumpini Park and the Erawan shrine. Really liked that area. Had heard of Khaosan as the "backpacker" area. Didn't know at the time that meant largely "white/foreign international travelers" area. I really liked the area I stayed and also really liked Khaosan when I finally went there after three days. I'm kind of glad I didn't stay in the area-as the touristic nature is more than I expected. I would like to stay in the riverside area one day, and walk over to Khaosan - some beautiful little streets heading west from Khaosan.
It’s so funny seeing the travellers with their suitcases already in Khao San, i love the spirit 😂. so excited to experience the night life!
I see so many it’s unreal.. it’s like a point of interest for them.. I guess it’s easy to just say khaosan road to the taxi drivers and they know exactly where to go then
At 05:06...when you're in Thailand, be careful opening your door because motorcycle riders will drive between your car and the sidewalk curb! Before opening your door, look behind your car for motorcycles trying to squeeze through, or else they will run right into your car door. This almost happened to me in Bangkok when I was about to exit a taxi. Coming from the US, you don't expect motorcycles to squeeze between your car and the curb. When you're in Bangkok your head has to be on a swivel! It is said that if you don't like the way Thai people drive then stay off the sidewalk/pavement!
I hate using bikes here’s to be honest.. try to walk as much as possible or use the train system
Go 3/4 of a mile away from Khao San and it's quiet and a quarter of the price.
Hi Swati, "Sawadeeka". Its not Chao Prior but "Chao Prya" River!. Well I missed the River Cruise as I had not known earlier... May be next time I would like to do..Thanks for the Videos. "KabunKa"
Just to let you know ‘Ka’ is only used when females speak… males use ‘krup’ pronounced more like cup..
Khao San was just alright, downtown BKK way bettwr
Went on my first ever trip to Thailand in 2007. Stayed for 2 beers. Not my scene, never been back.
It’s not for everyone that’s for sure.. I rarely go there myself but when I do I always end up having a good time
... recently l read that traders were complaining about the lack of tourists in Kao San Road ... my tourist visa was refused in Vientiane, I was missing a document that was not on the list downloaded from the site Thai embassy official ... so if tourists are turned away due to visa refusals, no wonder ... 🤣👍
There’s loads of tourists here trust me.. each and every week it’s escalating here
@@ProjectBangkok ... I opened my smartphone 2 days ago, and on the home page, there was an article: "Kao san road traders complain about the lack of people" ... for my part I am in Vientiane ...
Imagine being in a hot summer paradise where you cant even see the sun and the sky's are all GRAY every single day, the pollution in Thailand is the worst in the world and super dangerous for human health
Hmmm I must admit the air quality in Bangkok is awful sometimes.. to the point I feel like leaving.. But the beach's are usually very beautiful and only a few hours away to escape.. so there is that
@@ProjectBangkok Yeah sadly that has destroyed my retirement plans abroad , the health danger levels are way to large
No thanks. The nearby attractions are interesting, and I probably should visit. But I’ve never been here as the label “backpackers paradise” gives me the image of a bunch of young weed smoking hippies and sketchy establishments with no regard to cleanliness. I’m much more of the Sukhumvit/Asoke or Siam Square/Paragon type. Btw, hope there was no damage to that Mercedes. 😮
I like the way you present your vlogs , good music, good vibes 😎. Keep up the good work Rob .
I love this city.. I hope I can even put across 1% of that
