    These techniques work for almost any handled weapon or tool; hatchets, hammers, batons, machetes, short swords and even katana's. This is the most deadly effective martial art that I know, and I know many. I hope this helps you guys and girls protect yourselves and your loved ones. Enjoy.

    • @Britsamurai
      @Britsamurai  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think Jiu Jitsu is a great martial art for one on one combat, in situations where you can afford to take the fight to the ground, but if you are faced with multiple attackers, you take an attacker to the ground you will be vulnerable to attacks from other attackers. My favorite hand to hand martial art is Muay Thai but I also like Kyokushin karate and Judo. My favorite weapon arts are this Krav maga system, Escrima, Bojutsu, Blade throwing and Kendo.

    • @Britsamurai
      @Britsamurai  10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I have tried both; and seen many styles of Kali/Escrima, I find this method employs more stab angles, the transitions are simpler and faster, and the foot movements are similar to kick boxing, so for me the Israeli style wins hands down. Kali was hidden in a dance for centuries, I think it still holds some of the unnecessary dance movements like traditional Kung Fu does, the Israeli style is pure fight, no dance.

    At close distance a knife is way more deadly than a gun. It doesnt jam, it doesnt run out of ammo, it cuts and stabs in many ways unlike a gun which has to be pointed in one exact direction or it wont work. If I could chose between a gun pointed to my head or a knife to my neck, I would chose the gun since its so much easier to deflect, block or take from your opponent.

    Read William Ewart Fairbairn's, "Shooting to Live" and "Get Tough". His knife was to be used in only a few very specific areas on the body that would cause a wound that: "This is not an easy artery to cut with a knife, but, once cut, your opponent will drop, and no tourniquet or any help of man can save him." Do you know where that artery is? With a gun you need not bother. And why get close to you opponent? If someone was ready to attack you, you draw your firearm and shoot 3 times.

Hunk of metal into flesh. Don't worry about jerisdictions of how to kerry a nipue. Techniques he just talks and talks. Not a description of fighter stance, immediate defense, strike response....Talking and talking... Please if you are ISIS this is an awesome video to show you how to knife fight...

    Read William E. Fairbairn's "Get Tough" and "Shooting To Live". He fought Chinese gangsters in Hong Kong hand to hand, in shootouts and with a knife and had many knife cut scars on his hands, legs and torso. Frank Serpico was pinned between a door and a door frame and he did not reach for a knife. Unfortunately he was shot in the face before he could get at his Browning Hi Power 9mm.

    "...last word on knife fighting 101. like I said before, it's a fist fight, only with knives! It is brutal. Usually, one person gets seriously hurt, the other winds up dead! when done right, the entire event is over in a matter of seconds! that's been my experience. Knives are for soldiers; soldiers are for defense of countries, and fighting for your country is a serious business!"-DM

    I was taught never to reverse hold a blade. Well, only if you have won the fight and employ a coup de grace with a powerful, downward, stab. Reverse holding a blade will expose the top of your hand to an attacker's blade. Otherwise, I was taught to always hold the blade traditionally, edge down with your index finger along the front and bottom of the scales. I used a Bowie knife: 10" blade, rosewood scales, heavy brass guard, false edge sharpened 2" (5 cm) for back flicks.
    All else you teach in the Tactical Plan portion: deployment time...a personal goal based on your skill set, blade's specific, physical position in the sheath etc.and on your person...with the quicker the deployment the better; distance from an attacker with a blade versus your deployment time and adjusting your deployment time accordingly...always a dynamic act; and the proper grip...strong side carry always, grip the handle with knuckles aligned with the blade, not 'burying or covering' the butt, is what I learned. This is what you called, and I learned as, your 'tactical plan.' This always comes automatically with much-much practice and is optimized before you utilize your fighting 'style' or actually fight.
    I would like to watch your actual blade fighting techniques, next, and compare similarities or differences in our respective fighting systems.
    Excellent video, Instructor. Thank you very much.

    Awareness of your enviroment is more important than having a plan. A fight is almost a living thing and a set plan will get you hurt. Main targets yes plan no, however every first reaction is instinctive if attacked by surprise, what happens between instinct and the first blow comes down to preperation.
    This video is more for anyone expecting a knife attack and you should always expect an enemy to be armed :)

      Belive it or not small-medium sized knives are more dangerous than large knives and machetes. For the simple reason that its 1. More concealable and 2. MUCH faster and therefore hard to predict.

    By close distance I mean to close to draw your gun (i.e. pinned to wall, ground fighting, attacker within five feet). Neither me, nor Fairbairn would risk a knife fight if we could just shoot the guy. In man to man fight the knife is so much quicker to use and so much harder to disarm. The guns greatest perk is its range, that you can not use in scenarios i mentioned before. The artery you asked about is of course the subclavian which you would know if you had any knife fighting knowledge.

    knife fighting simplifiied...it is a fist fight to the death...with knives! Best knife fighter I ever met was a guy named Mike Enchanis...he's dead now....knew a guy who liked to be "merciful" and he used a strait razor...until one fight, he went to cut the "other guy's arm-between the muscles...to drop the mans arm, and the razor hit the bone! Needles to say, his opponent "drove the point home," quite literally in fact, and killed him (tijuana, Mx). A "good friend" of mine gave me some really good advice..."when someone else pulls out a knife...run; ..or, "give'm your wallet!" Take my advice...and if you're in "the service," if you have to use a knife, you're already screwed or; there should be plenty of M16's laying every place, pick one up, or: "Fight like HELL...!" Oh...if you're going to "take out" a sentry...use a'hush puppy" instead of a knife..if you can; or, a garrot..much safer for you, or: change your MOS! become a clerk typest-you can sit around and write each other up for medals!!"
    But for fightin' knives....gerber MK II or...(believe it or not) a fishing fillet knife(point control-),it's all in the wrist! nobody fights fair in a knife fight!...or, a Courtroom! For civilians: your feet are your best protection, i suggest you use them...RUN!

  • @johndoe-gr3mj

    A knife user I know would carry two folding knives in two leather cases on his belt and hold a third and sometimes a fourth knife in his hands which were hidden from view. The shit started and WHAM he started stabbing much to his opponent's suprise.

  • @johndoe-gr3mj
    @johndoe-gr3mj 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Reach for a knife and you have to find where to insert the knife or slash with the knife in/on your opponents body. But with the gun all you do is point it at any place on your opponent's body and simply pull the trigger. Firearms replaced knives. Knives are great for killing if you cover your opponent's mouth and hit the subclavian artery. A garrot is much better. It is best to hide your knife until you strike the death blow.

I notice that if I stand with my right leg back I square my body up quite a bit more than you. If I pull my non dominant hand up to my throat, it seems like most of that hands motion would be backhanded. Should I be standing with my right leg back and crossing my non knife hand across my body, or should learn to get stronger with my left leg back?

      Must say, I'm kind of shocked by some of the advice you've been given. I don't suggest you carry anything illegal where you live. Police don't care what your gender is; and there are some great folders which can be used for self defense.
      With that in mind, I have the fox DART. It's a little pricey, but it can be deployed instantaneously. But check it out on TH-cam, though, before buying it. It is technically a karambit, which makes it technical.
      Also, look into some light neck knives. Some can be deployed very quickly, and you can have a saber grip instead of an underhand.
      Always look up your knife laws before buying anything.
      Stay safe!

      fox DART, I will check it out....thanks for your great advise...I know the police doesn't care if I carry a big knife around for protection only...
      But I love taking walks late at night and sometimes without my big dogs and for now I have been carrying a paperspray, and small bucket knife (The Mutilator - Trigger Assisted Knife) around with me...but the Fox Dart sound like a much better choice...

      Glad I could help! Yeah, I wouldn't ever walk around with anything that's spring loaded. Those are definitely illegal.
      Also, try looking into some different neck knives. Remember, even something small can be very effective.
      Also, some pepper spray guns seem pretty legit.
      Take care! Be safe!

    The ultimate street fighter aka the U.S.M.C. infantryman has a rifle, a pistol and THEN a knife. Carrying a knife as if it had the same impact as a rifle isn't realistic. And the instructor is moving very, very slowly in comparison to a real knife fight. Someone who attacks you with a knife will come at you with a rage that will scare you and catch you off guard. Knife fights are barbaric and it is no gentlemenly duel. See the video by Radion561 to get a realistic idea. I am not advertising.

    K-bar fucking sucks. Buy a Mora or Marttiini, these knives will not only leave massive bleeding wounds but they will also stay sharp for much longer than any trash-bar.

    If you're doing CQC training, you should cover deploying any weapon you carry from that distance. You're repeating stuff you've heard before as gospel. Silly.

    First of all, I have nothing against guns and I strongly recommend carrying them. Second, the girl wouldnt have much chance in a "fight" if she had no training but in a rape scenario, she would be probably grabbed with no warning, dragged somewhere and the rape itself also has to occur at very short distance (well, technicaly negative distance). At any point she can pull out her knife (which she keeps concealed until that point) and deliver a fatal cut or stab much faster than shooting him.

    This is video trash. First. Get a quality object...I say object because everything is a knife. Imbed defense positions and offensive end all strikes. Stay in the box of fighting. Shoulders and mid thigh. Know that if you are knife fighting, something is wrong. This guy talks too much...Talks and talks...It's not a game...The fight should never come to a knife. If it does...Stay in a fighting box...
