This is the first game I bought for my Neo Geo MVS system. In fact, I bought it *before* I even had the Neo Geo! Arina is so much fun to play as, especially her playful attitude. If you jump in the air and rapidly spam the Light Kick button, she thrusts her butt out and then slaps her ass for extra hits 😀
Hoooooly shiiiiiit!! I LOVE WAKU WAKU 7! I remember when I got to see this beauty in the arcades when I was a kid. The animation, the color, the design, music, playability and absolutely everything in this game is a work of love. I never got to play the Saturn version, but I'm lucky to have this on the Switch. Despite the small roster in comparison, there is so much stuff packed in its small cast. This is one of those games that have remained close to my heart across the years.
The Saturn version was a fantastic port. Is almost arcade perfect. Nice to see another run with Arina. Edit: 21:46 I can't blame you, Fernandeath... I can't blame you.
This port is far from "Fantastic". You're coping hard with that. I understand that the SEGA Saturn is an amazing 2D gaming machine but again this almost sounds like a pure fanboi cope comment. As someone who actually owns the game on Saturn I can safely say that this is one of the worse arcade ports on the Saturn. The game's backgrounds are half the resolution of the arcade making them very pixelated and grainy. You also have these long loading screens (not a huge deal but still). Then there's the horrible slowdown. Whenever you do certain special moves the FPS takes a massive hit and just slows the game down to a crawl. This alone completely ruins the game's flow. The only positive that the Saturn version has over the arcade is the amazing arranged soundtrack. Aside from that this port falls flat on it's face. It's a shame too because this could have been an amazing arcade perfect port if it was actually ported over properly.
@@diasflac0gSorry for the late reply, but actually, I would have to agree with you. This is another great hidden gem from SNK, but we already know that the Saturn version is crap, compared to other Capcom/SNK titles on the same system. But how bad is it? If it’s any bad, then it’s just as awful as MKII for the Saturn. It should also be noted that the slowdowns and loading times made it look more like a PS1 game, which is stupid, hence why this port seems to be rushing out the door in the last minute. Unlike this game, X-Men vs. Street Fighter on the Saturn handles the job perfectly, as if that game is already accurate to its arcade counterpart. This one is just literally doing the opposite. It leaves a lot to be desired.
I hate how every time I watch one of these, I forget that Bonus-kun is a single-round affair Many thx for doing this one, I have misplaced my copy of this game’s (Redbook) soundtrack, so quite nice to hear it once again

I can't believe I never got a Saturn copy of this back in the day. This game is long overdue for a release on modern hardware. Arina is just proportionally the perfect bunny girl.
From Wikipedia: Dandy-J is a treasure hunter hired to go after the WakuWaku Balls, though has no wish to grant in particular, and is accompanied by his friend's daughter Natsumi Hazama and pet cat "Rampoo" (sometimes mentioned as Ramp or Rump) in his quest. Dandy-J uses a whip in his battles, with Natsumi and Rump sometimes making single attacks at the opponent. He is a parody of both the titular character of the Indiana Jones series and Joseph Joestar from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

Love Arina's costume! She looks like an energetic kinda gal.
This game is criminally underrated... has great character designs, great music, great gameplay, it's all amazing. Shame we never got more.

Another gem! Thank you for uploading this!
😎👍
This seems like a very upbeat game for a fighting game. All the characters have their personalities and quirks. And Arina is well.... interesting.
13:24 Dandy J somehow looks like old Joseph Joestar lol
I can’t unsee that resemblance of those two characters right now.
Not to forget to mention this, but his partner Natsumi looked a lot like Misty from Pokémon.

Arina Makihara. What a gal and her costume is great too~ ❤ I wish someone does a cosplay of her.

this is a great game but i only ever played the arcade version. the loading would have annoyed me.

Just about all the anime character stereotypes in one package.

Anyone know the name of the chick in the background in Dandy J's stage?
