    This advice and your help got me through audition self tapes, I tell ya. Especially when applying for RADA because it was a bit daunting at first glance and it was my first year applying. I've now (still can't believe it) received a recall from RADA and just waiting to see what's next. #blessed Thanks Pippa x

      Hey! Just came across this again. I'm through to the third round, of which I'll be doing in April. I've got a few more recalls coming up elsewhere too- and a place on GSA's BA Acting Course. Thanks so much for your help at the early stage!

    You’re hilarious 😂 Great video! I actually filmed my RADA self tape this morning before coming across this, but it looks like I was on the right track!

    Thank you, amazing video! Would you recommend talking about why I want to attend acting school in the About Me section? They didn’t specify it in the instructions, but I also feel like it could be relevant information to include

    • @TheBritishActingCoach

      You're welcome :)
      They ask for your experience, not your hopes and dreams r.e. future acting. You don't have a lot of time so I would stick specifically to what they are asking: why the speeches, previous experience, what else you do with your time. Boom.
      Let me know how you get on!

      @@TheBritishActingCoach thank you very much for the advice! There’s definitely not a lot of time so this helps a lot in being able to narrow it down. I’ll be recording my audition in the next couple days so I’m nervous, but also excited! Your channel has been incredibly helpful :)

    I spent whole day yesterday doing my tape for RADA and got really stressed out, so it’s nice I came across this video and now I’m ready to do it again tomorrow! Can I ask though, is it too late that I have just applied 1 week ago? Does the time of my application affect my result? Cuz some people say the sooner you do your application the bigger the chance you might have and it completely thrown me off and it’s all I can think about now. I felt like even if I do it now I won’t have much of a chance getting in and it’s all for nothing😢

    • @TheBritishActingCoach
      @TheBritishActingCoach  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No it doesn’t affect your result. And it’s never all for nothing, there’s always something to learn.

    You have a great positive energy in you and i think that energy makes you a great actress and great person too i hope to apply at RADA but unfortunately I’m an international person I’m asking you if there are international people can apply at RADA

    • @TheBritishActingCoach
      @TheBritishActingCoach  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don’t know Mohammed - you need to do all that work for yourself! BOVTS are now accepting International students on their BA programme but that’s all I know! Thanks for watching and your lovely words!

    This was super helpful, thank you! What are your thoughts on using little props and making eye contact with the camera during speeches?

    • @TheBritishActingCoach
      @TheBritishActingCoach  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think it’s really fine IF it is crucial to the speech I.e. you’ll notice in my Viola example… and if they’ve said no eye contact, don’t do it. If it suits the speech to do it and they don’t mind, go for it. Just know the panel aren’t there to act with you, they’re there to observe so will probably be taking notes.

    Hello! Do i need to do the self tape all in one take xx

    • @TheBritishActingCoach
      @TheBritishActingCoach  ปีที่แล้ว

      They say on their instructions I believe; that you don't have to. I prefer to and think it's better, personally. BUT I AM NOT RADA hahah. You do you babes x

  • @Bellayoungyoutube
    @Bellayoungyoutube 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Is it super important to do it all in one take or can you do different takes for each tape?

    • @TheBritishActingCoach
      @TheBritishActingCoach  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think one steady tape shows you off more and gives you room to breathe and the panel the chance ot see you go from one character to the next. It’s more like how it would be in the room which is usually what they want to replicate.

    Hei ! This video is so helpful, wish I had came across this earlier but I submitted my self-tapes and got a reply recently for a 15min interview this month. Any idea on what’s this interview is gonna be like ? Are they gonna ask me to perform or just have a small conversation? Does this interview also means that I’ve made it through? (I’m sorry if my questions sound dumb)

    • @TheBritishActingCoach
      @TheBritishActingCoach  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm sure you've had it by now - it cares from school to school and from auditioner to auditioner. Usually a combination of everything - you've never made it through until you've got the acceptance letter or the contract through haha - that's what I say!
