I've never done patreon before being a bit of a old school bloke. But I love your videos so much that I will make it my first. You and your Dad inspires me to get out and do likewise, Safely and sensibly as you do. I'm joining your patreon!
Great to see the 3 generations enjoying the time together. Also good to see a measured approach with basically stock vehicles. Makes a pleasant change from the leaping, spinning, thrashing and breaking that some others do.
Hi,mate I've following and watching your video's you are an inspiration to many people, I've just started off roading and by watching you and your relaxed and informative approach is great, well done , mate,
Hi Tyler, Another awesome video mate. Snowy river track was my first 4wd trip back about 7 years ago. Done Dedick trail north to south with a broken rear shock on a Holden jackaroo with no lift but all terrain tyres. Rear shock top bush busted and fallen off before the stirecase. Took from 1.30 pm to 11.30 pm to get to the camp near the bridge. Down hilling staircase with a broken shock wasn’t the best experience for a first time 4wd driver. Next day morning use bush mechanic skills to fix shock using tyre tube pieces pushing through the eye (had with us to tubing on the river) and duct tape. Still had good fun. Your dads car got plenty of punch and good traction control system. They are very good cars. I generally use L2 for climbs and L1 for down hilling. I am heading to high country on Friday with my cousin on his Mickey Mouse Mux (no mods) and my prado. Will do the billy goat and 24 river crossings. This gonna be a good testing ground for stock standard Mux Have fun mate you doing a fantastic job. Take the boy all the time with you. Next generation should appreciate the nature. We might bump shoulders one day on tracks Don.M
Hey mate, wow sounds like you had an interesting time! I'm glad we managed not to break anything, you're a long way from any help out there! Have fun on your high country mate! Im sure you'll have an awesome time. Appreciate the feedback :) Cheers!
Only just discovered your channel mate, dunno why it took so long for you to come up in my suggested vids, instant sub after watching this 3 part high country series.. i love that your not out there destroying the tracks like other content makers do,youve deffinately got a unique way of showing how steep and how big the high country trully is. Keep up the awesome work cheers👍
@@TylerThompson90 thanks for the reply, bloody oath, just goin through all your other vids now mate, stay safe out there, hope to catch you on the tracks one day👍
That hill would have been just as scary going down it as well. Very lucky it didn't start raining while you guys were halfway up. Another rad vid...👍🍺...
Ripper of a vid Tyler, you and your Dad are the best 4B drivers I have ever seen. Bet you were knackered after walking up and down that hill getting the recovery gear..... (Twice )LOL bloody funny ....... Keep well and Safe
Nice video mate. I drove the Deddick on Tuesday from McKillops Bridge, the Missus was a bit worried after seeing the signs. I put both lockers on at the bottom of the staircase and drove up no worries, didn't have as much fun as you guys did though.
a patreon is a great idea and good stuff again tyler , the ole man showed you up on that hill lol , sometimes you just gotta send it but like you said using your recovery gear and not braking anything is the go up there , or maybe a locker , but hey , you still get to where you want to go
Thanks mate! Appreciate it :). Yep he was pretty stoked with himself haha. Yeah hopefully get a locker in the future when I can afford it but still get most places without one
Awesome videos, any chance you could do a comparison in wheel travel between the MUX and the Navara. Always wondered if there is much difference between them.
Thank you! I can try and do one soon. They are both pretty much the same in the front but then the Navara definitely has a decent amount more in the rear
Awesome vid. Would it be okay to do this track solo in a prado with winch, lift etc in the dry? Thinking of heading up these ways over labour day weekend
Hey mate, if you are on your own I would only recommend doing it in the direction we did it with lockers probably. If you don't have lockers might be better off going the other way so you come down the Mt Joan Staircase
Nice vid. Love the drone shots. I made a clip of the same trip as a solo vehicle last year in my 84' L300 van. (I've had it for 30 years now.) It started to rain and that steep section turned into pure soap and I had to wait for it to dry out overnight before reaching the top. I last took the van up there about 10 years earlier, but now have the tyre inflation gear which helps plenty. Although, one of those winches would have been nice, or even limited-slip-diff. Fully loaded and occupied we were pushing 3 ton. A lot of work for an old 4-cylinder on LPG. FYI th-cam.com/video/VZfWA597qC8/w-d-xo.html Keep up the good work!
@@TylerThompson90 You covered a lot of territory with these clips. I had taken the old van over most of the same trails in this series, but within separate trips over many years. The thing that helps me get away with it is the forward-control steering. I get to see exactly where every wheel is going over every rock. Plus the L300 has a tiny turning circle. Its rare that I need to take another bite at a switchback. The drone footage you have included gives an extra perspective not available from ground level. You also show that such journeys are achievable with most 4WD vehicles as long as the driver takes a little care and a little preparation. Cheers.

Just got home from 11 nights up there totally beautiful can't wait to get back
Such an amazing place, we will definitely be back again soon!
Great to see the 3 generations enjoying the time together. Also good to see a measured approach with basically stock vehicles. Makes a pleasant change from the leaping, spinning, thrashing and breaking that some others do.
Thanks mate! Appreciate the feedback :). Yep we do our best not to damage the track and break our cars haha

Cheers mate! Glad you're enjoying them :). Its an awesome track, much easier if you have lockers haha
Normally a camera doesn't show how steep a hill really is but that first winch, damn near vertical 😯. Top job keep them coming 👍
Cheers mate! Yep that was one steep hill haha, definitely the steepest hill of this trip
That hill would have been just as scary going down it as well. Very lucky it didn't start raining while you guys were halfway up. Another rad vid...👍🍺...
It certainly was steep and yep definitely wouldn't want to be on it in the wet, would get very interesting then! Cheers mate :)
Signed up 👍 you’ll definitely blow up soon video editing and camera work is spot on, can’t wait to see more keep it up
Awesome! Thanks so much mate, hopefully the channel keeps growing :)

Another great vid Tyler. Great scenery and some challenging tracks. A locker or two might come in handy me thinks. Keep up the great work
Thanks mate! Some great tracks out there! Yep definitely need a locker when I can afford one
Great video as usual. Always looking forward to the next one.
Thanks mate!
You do some really tough tracks, I think you should invest in front and rear lockers. I like your videos, keep up the good work.
Great vid Tyler a front diff lock and you would have killed it ....but it all adds to the adventure without one .
Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Thanks mate! Yep a locker definitely would have come in handy, they make such a massive difference.
Great video Tyler, nice way to start my Sunday. Thanks for sharing, look forward to the next episode!

@@Stu-ky5ut he went full on too "He's gunna break both of them!"
I died laughing, Kids are the best at innocent comedy.
Great video Tyler. I want to get down to Victorian High Country one day. Not in summer though.
Just gotta be mindfull of seasonal track closures between queens bday and cup day, that and i think by law if its snowing you need to carry chains👍
Yeah definitely a lot of tracks are closed in the winter months, we would love to go explore some of it in the snow but!
Top video matey
Cheers!
Great vids Tyler, keep them coming please mate. Quick question, what tyres is your old man running?
