You can tell people were jealous of the guy....all those looped takes to goof on him...one of the most underrated actors of his day that got more out of life than three people.
+Sam Moss To quote Viveca Lindfors: "He was a brilliant actor and didn't know it. He went f**king and fishing and paid no attention to his talent. He was in his own little beauty box prison and drank himself to death to get out of there. There was no one to point the way." Truer words were never spoken, and the narrator of this video is a sub-cretin.
He was a talent no doubt about it..he was still around when I was very young and even then as a youngster he was just plain fun to watch on screen and growing older and seeing those films it stood out how he really commanded a scene and you were just drawn to the guy, when we're young we see things with no prejudices just naiveness and as we age those things cling to us but still even today watching those old films is still for lack of a better words ' a treat '.
+Sam Moss Growing up in the fifties, I never saw a Classic Errol Flynn movie, even in re-release. As a pre-teen, the Errol/Beverly romance was all over the news. In 1975, I finally caught Captain Blood, The Sea Hawk, and The Adventures Of Robin Hood at the local rep house, fully restored and on the big screen with an appreciative audience. I was completely bowled over. Why had I hardly ever heard of this guy, except for later childhood rumors of scandal in his personal life? I read my parents' copy of the unabridged "My Wicked, Wicked Ways," found in a box in their garage, and learned a little more. And I still love Classic Flynn flicks. He was robbed of an Oscar for Robin Hood.
lemorab1 I was fortunate as a kid to have a local tv station that would show movies on Sat afternoons called Palmetto Playhouse...spent many a Saturday watching flicks from the 30's 40's & 50's. Saw Captain Blood in the high school auditorium, that school eventually screened most of Errols flicks during my time there...boy was I lucky or what? He was totally under appreciated as an actor in his day and looking back it makes you wonder when you see other actors 'phone 'em in' and receive acclaim. I grew up around folks who'd gone off to WWII and the 'In Like Flynn' thing was bandied about so I think jealousy had a lot to do with him being not taken seriously. Even today you can watch those flicks and see how he really drew your attention and you still feel 'in the moment'...great actor and entertaining as hell.
+Mc Bragg ...drunken...yeah he like to take a drink and enjoy people....racist? he was a product of his time...people then do not think like they do know you should know that.
Oh man, I was so excited to see these outtakes, then the snickery, sarcastic narrator came in making fun of him. People get so jealous and threatened by Flynn. Too bad, he was marvelous.
That sarcastic narrator was Jack Carson. Part of the Warner Bros. Breakdowns was to add occasional narration, making fun of the scene and/or the actors. Just harmless fun. Lighten up. I bet Errol laughed at these bloopers.
Great vid. Especially great to see Errol and Ann Sheriden have some laughs. I read, somewhere where those two had a fling, at one point. Ann was such a beauty! 😍
Errol said in his memoirs that women make the best friends, and he said he had three women who were his very best friends--Ida Lupino, Ann Sheridan, and I believe the other was Alexis Smith
I'm certain of it. And unlike back then, these days he would've been afforded more chances to show his acting range. He was a terrific actor, either way though.
I’ll bet this gentleman was a lot of fun. Of course, one might eventually want to get off of the rollercoaster. I think he and w.c. fields and the great John Barrymore must have had some lively times.

+La Fer FJ - That was what I thought the first time I saw Kevin Kline. I couldn't imagine when they got someone else to play Flynn in any movie. There was less resemblance as Kevin grew older, but at one time they didn't even need makeup.
+Charles Watson dude that's so true, even tho, they had to use little make up cause when Errol died the doctors said that he looked like a 70 year old man, and Kevin definitely doesn't hahaha he's so sexy, OK bye haha
Errol died too young but I tell you one thing he fitted everything into his 50 years that other men can’t do in a lifer time. He always pushed the impossible button and succeeded!
1:20 - Watch out girls when Mr. Flynn gets that look in his eyes. Watch out guys as well. And animals. Flynn reported would do it with anyone of any age.
Flynn was a real problem for the FBI. They kept tabs on his activities but the feds got tired of endless reports of orgies drinking and snorting cocaine. FBI agents hated the Flynn assignment since it boiled down to writing about his endless whoring and boozing. And yes they joked that he would take the niece the mom and the grandma.
I'm quite sure these blooper reels were made only for the eyes of executives for WB studio's for laughs...and they were never suppose to be shown to the public.
Actually, the Breakdowns of 1930-something or 1940-something were made for the WB Studio workers. At the end of the year, the Studio would throw a huge banquet for the employees, all the behind-the-scenes office personnel etc. Part of the banquet festivities was to show a 10-15 minute blooper reel of that year's movies. They are great fun. Just look up Breakdowns of 1936, 37, etc on TH-cam. You get to see Bogart, Bacall, Cagney, Bette Davis, Flynn, Edward G. Robinson, Claude Rains, Olivia deHavilland, etc flubbing lines, cracking up. A lot of fun!!
@@vivienlatham5189 Ha! I'll have to check those out. I enjoyed these Flynn ones, esp with Ann Sheridan. I can't wait to see the Bogie ones, I'm sure he's a trip in the bloopers. Ty. 😎👍

I know this is a little picky and an intrusion, but, let us look at so-called beautiful Hollywood people, well, Flynn was a really handsome guy, but he had rather deformed ears, Ava Gardner was the world.s most beautiful animal, but her neck was a couple of inches too long, get my drift? Any other astute observations, discounting Clarke Gables' ears or false teeth of course....
Hedy Lamarr. A true, flawless beauty for the ages! I also say that Eleanor Parker and Linda Darnell are rather easy on the eyes. 😍👍 I never thought Ava was all that.

I love Flynn! I know he was a rogue but dammit he was a real man. Lol❤

Flynn's personality never dates. If he was in a movie today he would fit right in.
I'm certain of it. And unlike back then, these days he would've been afforded more chances to show his acting range. He was a terrific actor, either way though.
He would be way too good for anything today
He's truly timeless.
@@painin2teeth exactly. Today's movies are so bad. There is nothing good enough for him

Errol Flynn was truly the original badass
What? Badass yes but the original? Ever heard of Douglass Fairbanks? Buster Keaton? And many others.
dude! Kevin Kline was the perfect choice to play Errol in The Last of Robin Hood, they are like twins

La Fer FJ: He was a better Douglas Fairbanks.
He's been ded for years, and yet his maid Marion is still alive.
60 years.
Yeah, errol wasn't even much older than her, only few years. Yet she outlived him by 60 years and counting
RIP Dame Olivia de Havilland, one of the last survivors of Hollywood's Golden Age

Loved his work and attitude since 1959, beat that...
ERROL WAS BEAUTIFUL
Errol died too young but I tell you one thing he fitted everything into his 50 years that other men can’t do in a lifer time. He always pushed the impossible button and succeeded!
I guess some people are destined to shine much brighter but shorter than many "regular" folks.
Errol lived more in his 50 years than most men in twenty lifetimes.
His son Sean rivaled his looks! Tragedly, he died even younger than his dad, in the jungle of Kambodia:(
lol I love Errol Flynn movies
It's so weird hearing someone in a film from 1938 go "son of a b****" like that

These are camera tricks
OMG I love u
Sounds like Jack Carson a little bit anyway . Son of a bitch whoever it is narrating

It is Jack Carson, and I'm sure some writer at Warner Bros. wrote the narration.
Few bloopers with an annoying narrator and camera tricks. Disappointing.
