Cork used to win two or three times per decade but have not won since 2005. The way they played against Limerick it to see the famine ending anytime soon. There seems to be a sporting malaise in Cork. The footballers have just one title in the last 30 years. They have no soccer team in the premier division, though Cork City might win promotion and there are no Cork players on the Irish rugby XV.
Modern forwards need to have a higher work rate, run more off the ball and track back the field regularly. It's not enough to say i just win my own ball and prioritise scoring, that day is long gone
if it were any other ten year period in the past , Cork would now have at least two All Ireland's, won , but times have changed ,where now Clare and Limerick beat Cork , when in the past they would be beaten by the Cork team of the time eg 2013 2018 2021 , in the past when Cork beat Kilkenny they were the All Ireland champions , not any more eg 2021 , times have changed the Clare's Galway's and Limericks are now able to beat Cork almost or as much as Cork can beat them , they don't fear Cork any more , like they did in the past .

Kyle Hayes is a natural half back, he started off as a natural no 6, he moved into forward line as a minor with limerick and won man of the match in u21 all ireland final 2017 as a no 6

Limericks half back line can move forward because most of them were forwards at one stage. Hayes was a forward originally himself
they can move forward because the cork forwards don't follow em back, don't or can't tackle them and they don't have the physicality to match them
