Yea, I repaired a HK 17 preamp that they botched...apparently destroyed the Alps stepped attenuator and replaced with a cheap nylon shaft volume pot. Are you located in Seattle area?

The problem is that there are more units like this in the wild. He "repaired" other units as well.
