It's ironic how Henry the 8th had Anne Boleyn executed and her daughter Elizabeth had the throne in all its glory and Elizabeth had Mary executed for treason but her son James honored his mothers wish and united not only Scotland and England but Ireland.

one of my favorite parts of her story is that she still got the last laugh. elizabeth died with mary’s son on the throne and the entire royal family of england descends from mary, not elizabeth. (yes I know they were cousins but the bloodline came directly from mary after james ruled)
