      But The Mongols are Faster Than Americans, The Americans Take about 120 years to Expand From The Atlantic to Hawaii but The Mongols Taked over Most of Asia and a Quarter of Europe in only 25 YEARS

    • @aquamapping4217
      @aquamapping4217 8 ปีที่แล้ว +54

      Difference is, USA still owns these territories, and the Mongols don't.

    • @UrethraCaveDiver
      @UrethraCaveDiver 8 ปีที่แล้ว +21

      Well, the Mongols also torched everything on the way and didn't really have to worry about supplies.

    • @kuroodo_
      @kuroodo_ 8 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      Also, the US only has 2 countries with lesser military bordering it's mainland.
      An invasion onto US mainland from across the sea will also be extremely difficult especially with modern day technology and defense. It'd be suicide.
      So the US is in a position where it is better off than the Mongols.
      Right now, the only way I see the US being taken over is by starting the invasion from within the country itself.

    Interesting to see the progression of the United States, from being a colony of England then Britain to becoming the most powerful and international country in the world today. I love learning a lot about history through reading and watching mapping histories. America also took the Philippines, Guam and Samoa btw. These three constituents were colonies of the USA, with Samoa still under American rule.

      AppGlaze how is it forgotten in anyway? People bring it up all the time and it’s taught in schools. And “sins of the fathers can be pardoned if the sons stop them” means you agree with the framework that they should be judged by their fathers actions. And I don’t know how the sons are keeping the sins going on since natives have legal rights and reserves now days.

    • @EmperorTigerstar
      @EmperorTigerstar  8 ปีที่แล้ว +26

      BARBATUS 89 That's actually false. While very very very few people use it, many states have a law that technically forbids adultery. They just don't enforce it.

    • @EmperorTigerstar
      @EmperorTigerstar  8 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      BARBATUS 89 No, it's just hard to make sure people don't commit adultery and prove them guilty of it without invading privacy.

    • @AnonYMooseBoG
      @AnonYMooseBoG 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      BARBATUS 89 There's actually a good amount of Americans who don't see marriage as anything more than a tax advantage. They would live with whoever they have a relationship with anyway, but they get married because they save money on taxes by filing jointly and only owning one house/apartment.
      Further still, there's a surprising amount of people who are okay with open relationships where either member of the relationship can sleep around without aggravating the other.
      In current American culture, these adultery laws seem obsolete, and if police tried to enforce them it would likely be a huge invasion of privacy. The courts may even declare said law(s) unconstitutional in a court case as they can be considered freedom chilling when you consider modern American culture in addition to being an invasion of privacy to enforce. There's a reason we have a Fourth Amendment.
      EDIT:
      Yay text walls!

    • @AnonYMooseBoG
      @AnonYMooseBoG 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      BARBATUS 89 The kid gets to make that decision for him/her self. I'm not going to tell you whether you should follow a religion or not, and the government shouldn't have a say in it either.
      America isn't a perfect place. We have problems, yes. I think our alliance with Saudi Arabia is disgraceful and hypocritical and that we need to stop being so fucking interventionist. I'm sick of it. Every time we do anything in the Middle-East or Africa it ends up creating an even worse situation because we create a power vacuum and don't support the new system. It's fucking ludicrous.
      EDIT:
      Fixed grammar

    • @EmperorTigerstar
      @EmperorTigerstar  8 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      BARBATUS 89 We don't put any particular religion or moral code above any other besides the US law. I think adultery is sinful but I'm not going to force everyone else to do what I want. That's not my place nor should it be. A man or woman's journey of morality begins and ends with him/herself. No one else.

      Lewis Carlin they didnt consider themselves a part of the union. But they did consider themselves american. Hence union vs confederacy NOT america vs confederacy.

    I find American history really boring, some of the only cool stuff we have is the civil war and before. Europe and Asia have dozens of wars with complicated political reasons and multiple parties in each, it's just so much cooler.

    Why did you use the 20-star flag from 15-19 states? During that time the Star Spangled Banner flag (15 stars, 15 stripes) was used.

    There’s one major mistake in this video. You show several states leave the US c. 1861-1865. Several states were controlled by insurrectionist forces during that time, but none left the Republic.

    What's the difference between U.S. territories like Puerto Rico & Guam compared to territories like the Arizona Territory or the Northwest Territory?

    • @headhusky5707
      @headhusky5707 8 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      He said "excluding *overseas* territories." And Arizona and the Northwest Territories were on the mainland.

    • @TheDragonHistorian
      @TheDragonHistorian 8 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      HeadHusky I wasn't questioning why they weren't in the video. I was just wondering if there was any difference in their legal status.

    • @headhusky5707
      @headhusky5707 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** They didn't become actual states.

    • @TheDragonHistorian
      @TheDragonHistorian 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      HeadHusky So theoretically all the overseas territories could become states if they followed the steps all the continental territories did?

    • @letsplaybrosiden22
      @letsplaybrosiden22 8 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      Territories are areas that are under U.S. jurisdiction but have not become states yet. Those territories became states once they had enough population just the same as how Puerto Rico can become a state but has so far decided not to.

    Great video, you even had the little piece of territory that used to be a part of Ohio ‘The Gore’, that is in the south western part of the state. To bad it is now a part of Indiana, maybe someday we could buy it from Indiana, so we could have the states original planned border, before we gave it away. Cheers
