But there's little chance that the US will donate ships with Tomahawk missle launch capability to the Philippines, as it is primarily a strategic weapon used beyond regional territories of the US. The biggest problem will be cost of running such a big and still technologically advanced cruiser. The cost might equal what five new South Korean frigates that the Philippines had been aquiring costs. And as the cruiser continues to age, the cost will get higher and higher to maintain and arm it. The Philippines will need an economy at least the the size of South Korea to be able to maintain and operate such a vessel.
