What is the exact name of the turtle place? There are a few different places where you can interact/swim with turtles in Port Vila. We are really interested to visit where you went 🙂
Loved Port Vila when I was over there on a cruise last month when I was on Majestic Princess I went on a water taxi there went to the market and had a lovely time in the city absolutely enjoyed it
Sometimes it is just nice to have a walk around the City and take in the local atmosphere, check out the shops, stop for some lunch and a drink. We've done that a few times too.
We were on your cruise as well, loving reliving it through the videos. Old mate misled you on the Cascades waterfall though, we went with our driver and it was $20 each, including an accidental morning tea because we were there at the same time as an organised bus tour. They insisted on us taking fruit as well even though we explained we hadn’t paid for it!
Top tip... do not share a tour with anyone ! Last cruise, we wanted to visit the turtle sanctuary.. as we left the ship, 2 americans asked if they could come along with us .. didnt see any harm in that . We picked out a mini bus , the driver asked for $60 per person, we were ok with that, in the meantime, another elderly aussie couple joined us, and knocked the price down to $50 each. So , we set off... we were to go to the blue lagoon , turtle sanctuary next door , and ( if you wanted ) the duty free shop. We had done these tours before, but we really wanted to visit the turtles. When we got to the lagoon, our 4" friends" didnt want , or expected to pay the entrance fee ( they assumed the $50 covered everything (?). We got a "reduced" rate.. spent 20 mins there, then boarded the bus for the next stage. There were then complaints about the entrance fee to the turtles.. people felt that it was too expensive, we said that ,that was the whole idea of the tour, and we really wanted to pay, and go in. The group decided to "take a vote".we were outvoted... We were obviously pretty annoyed, that these people had in effect hijacked our tour. Lesson learnt, never again. We have booked for next March ,cruise inclding Port Vila and will make sure we do tours on our terms.

Hi ! We come to Port Villa in a month's time ! May i ask what currency you have been paying in Vanuatu? Ive seen mixed answers online and any help is much appreciated 👍🏽
Are you both on Carnival Luminosa that departed Brisbane 3rd March if so my partner and I did a 3 day sample cruise and 2 cruising friends are onboard also.
I searched for Turtle Sanctuary on google as we're going to Port Vila on my birthday in March 2025, but many of the reviews dont support the place at all and say it's not good animal welfare at all. We'd be interested in hearing your feedback.
Hi. You would generally pay the taxi driver at the end of the trip but the activities as you go. It is probably good to have a selection of notes to hand so that you can give the right money but they are likely to have change. If we're $5 or so adrift we would usually just round it up. I wouldn't take $100 bills to pay for a $20 entry though.

Good on ya Ali, you’re such a good sport. It looked like loads of fun at the Blue Lagoon and being able to swim with the turtles looked amazing.
It really was a fabulous day Elizabeth and Ali is up for most things as you may have gathered by now. :-)
Great video! We’re doing a cruise next year and the turtles and blue lagoon are on my list!

Vanuatu ❤❤❤
Dear Ali and Rob
Which turtle sanctuary were you at?
What was the name?
Best regards Christian
Avie Bay. I visited last week. No swimming in beach as water was too low. No touching turtles either in the concrete pools

Couple of questions, do you pay at the start or at the end of the trip? Also do you need exact amounts or do they give change?
