Not a Shidou fan.. but my brother, I feel like a lot of ppl are caught up with the hole best passers in the series thing when it comes to Shidou, admittedly he did have the best passers to work with,, but as you saw from Sendou.. it takes different kind of gravy to score from a pass provided from the best passers in blue lock. Shidou's second selection taking igaguri through is way more impressive than Nagi against team Z, Sure nagi cooked isagi, igaguri and kuon(technically less gifted players)but I didn't see Bachira or Kunigami track back.. if kunigami came back to help isagi, Nagi isn't getting away with all those sick controls/traps. whereas, Shidou had two players to deal with, in close range so its not like he could run to the weakest players on the pitch and cook them and score and is igaguri someone to be afraid of with the ball, realistically... he had to deal with both of them and cooked them without an elite passer, that stuff really just floods ppl's minds when talking about shidou the writer defo wrote that trait out of his character, he was genuinely very smart, analysing reo and kuni in seconds . plus guys kunigami's physique was trained to replicate a pro, anyone gets shut down by kuni (he just didn't do it to nagi or barou), if someone body checks you off of controlling the ball.. how are you gonna play, I just feel ppl are giving shidou shit for somn most players get shut down by, I've heard "oh shidou is getting shut down by a freaking striker" well that Striker has the physique to body anyone off the ball so he's really acting like a defender rn. just my takes i'm a Kaiser fan really but shidou has to be better than nagi if the writer didn't slightly nerf him and Nagi is a fantastic player aswell. love the vids

I noticed during the Blue Lock movie that Nagi might have Metavision-like instincts similar to Shidou. Nagi was able to see and intercept Isagi's spots during 1st selection which was like an early showing of Metavision. He hasn't shown any vision type feats and he's not analytical so I think him being able to meet Isagi at his "goal scent" spots might be due to him instinctly knowing that Isagi will be there. Him having instinct makes more sense for his character since his overall playstyle is also reliant on instinct.
Also if u look at player stats after manshine match u could see nagi in terms of either vision or kinetic vision he had 1 less Stat than isagi who had meta vision

The second selection was just him carrying and he’s the only one that scored against the world five besides Rin (who did so with an assist mind you). It’s not that these passers elevate shidou it’s that he can pull off things no one else can, they get to put the ball where it would be most optimal period and not where it’s would be most optimal for [insert any other player besides shidou] because he is the one that could reach the perfect point. Also again the world five as well as the 3rd section (where he was competing with Rin) prove that he doesn’t need great passers. These passers are not good because they give easy passes (like the u20 strikers got from Sae) but because the give hard ones only he can reach. And let’s not forget that the Big Bang drive had no passer, granted he was in flow but if were go there than barous super goal from the Ubers match also doesn’t count either and we also can’t talk about berserker Rin anymore but that’s dumb as hell

Than when he gets guarded by kunigami who’s only has a good physique and nothing else, shidou ghost the rest of the game and kunigami isn’t even bothered by him being able to somewhat pass to other players like Kaiser.
