Sonar tips for using sonar at 20mph to find a school of walleye on Saginaw Bay, in February!! Quick limit with just 3 rods and nobody around... until I need them..
30 years ago nobody fished walleye on Green Bay, WI. My dad, grandpa and myself use to cast Cleo's and catch them on reef's before anyone knew about it. Now, the amount of Yuppies clogging the boat launches with $75k boats is too annoying so I rarely fish them in the summer. Whats worse is that crowd has zero fishing skill, other than troll circles around everyone else. Like u said here, there are always walleye that dont do what the big schools do luckily, since thats where the crowd is. There is even populations that spawn on the main bay, on the rock reef's instead of running up river springtime and also some that stay in the weed beds year round instead of following the schools of baitfish during the summer so if I do sneak out of the duck hunting/no dock launches I have options. Its so much more enjoyable finding your own fish. I have an older boat and I drift or jig preferably, so when the boats come near to spy I usually get overlooked or assumed that Im perch fishing.
Great info thank you for sharing.
Are those Cisco Rod Holders? I like your setup!!!
Yes sir
Great Video. Are you using the big MSI transducer or do you have a high speed CHIRP transducer as well? Thanks for sharing !
I installed the $80 skimmer and use a Y cable to get the 2D sonar from the skimmer.

So true! There is so much group think going on that nobody dares to go outside the box. 👍
