That white Explorer guitar that Dany is playing here was gifted to her by Lzzy Hale of Halestorm a couple years back when they were touring together. During The Warning’s set, Lzzy walked out on stage and gave the guitar to Dany mid-guitar change.
This song was what introduced me to The Warning when I was first starting out on the drums! It will forever hold a special place in my heart ❤ this has been an awesome week guys, I’ve been eagerly waiting for the next one at 10 pm 😅
The string section was Manager Rudy's idea. The original bit of brilliance back in 2021 took about ten days, start to finish, to rework the song, do the collaboration with Alessia Cara (who is heard as a track played along with the live version here), and to record an amazing music video. It was during the pandemic. Alessia worked in Canada. The Warning were in Mexico. They collaborated over Zoom and synchronized everything in the computer. The video was recorded at an abandoned textile mill in Mexico. Alessia's video is a projection on the walls of the mill, photographed as part of the video along with The Warning. If you haven't seen that, it's worth a look. Keep up the good work, guys!
This version (minus the strings) & with singer Alessia Cara, was the first track on Metallica’s The Blacklist album. 53 tracks of different versions of Metallica’s songs by different artists. Their only “rule” was to not change the lyrics, everything else was fair game. It’s not so much a cover, more of a reimagining & it’s fantastic. ⚡️🤘
As Metallica wanted it, because Metallica didn't want just a cover. They wanted The Warning to give their own spin to it, because they already proved that they could play it flawlessly.
Regarding your comment about Ale's bone deep coolness... "Just the way she walked out. I know who I am." This is very insightful! In a recent interview Dany described Ale's superpower as being comfortable in her own skin, knowing who she is (her strengths and weaknesses), and being OK with that. Even if "who she is" means being socially uncomfortable at times. Good catch.
This performance of “Enter Sandman” by The Warning was special with the addition of a string ensemble, which is not how it’s usually performed live. Metallica asked The Warning to cover the iconic track in collaboration with Canadian pop singer Alessia Cara for “The Metallica Blacklist” album, celebrating the 30th anniversary of “The Black Album” in 2021. According to Lars Ulrich, they told all the bands involved, “Pick a song. Do what you want with it. If you want to play it backwards or turn it on its head, we respect and appreciate it.” The collaboration between The Warning and Alessia came together in just 10 days. Producer Matt Squire flew to Monterrey to work with the band directly, while Alessia recorded her parts remotely from Canada due to COVID restrictions. The Warning approached the project with the goal of making the song uniquely theirs. They removed the original riff, incorporated a “creepy lullaby” vibe, and emphasized the haunting “Hush Little Baby” section, with Alessia’s harmonies adding an ethereal layer to the arrangement. The official music video features Alessia as a projection since she couldn’t travel to Mexico due to COVID restrictions. During live performances of the song, when Alessia is not present, her “whoa, whoa” vocals are included on the backing track to maintain the collaborative elements of the arrangement. The Warning’s history with “Enter Sandman” dates back to 2014, when Dany was 14, Pau was 12, and Ale was just 9. They recorded a straightforward cover of the song and uploaded it to TH-cam because the file was too large to email to their family. That video went viral and now has over 26 million views. Metallica’s guitarist Kirk Hammett even tweeted, “the drummer kicks maximum ass!” The band performed their version of the song live with Alessia once as a special one-time event. Another memorable performance, without the string section, was at Teatro Metropolitan in 2022.
@JustBakeChannel Great!!! When you have a chance i would like to see you reaction to "Automatic sun" ( The studio version from their channel, but you will feel it as if was alive because this studio version looks like a concert alive ) The other one is " When I am alone" ( from Pepsi Center) I will be ready when you post the video... Thanks Guys...
Awesome version they are amazing performers this was top tier with the strings gonna miss this on the setlist such a great reimagining of the classic. Thanks guys. 🔥⚡⚡⚡
Thanks for another great reaction (as usual)! I understand what you meant about taking advantage of seeing a group while you have the chance. KISS was performing at my (small) community college way back in 1974 (or was it 1975?) for $3.00 and I didn't go because I had no idea who they were. Big mistake! My daughter took me to see their "End of The Road" concert a year ago and I'm glad we went. Turned out to be their last St.Louis concert. Ale has a beautiful voice - need to hear more other than just background! I need to see these ladies live before I get much older!

Thank you guys for the week of The Warning and I'm glad you're digging them. The ladies are just top tier. I never liked this song and not a Metallica fan but they made me love this Warnified version. Actually this strings rendition are worthy of a James Bond Soundtrack. And also their version (with Alessia Cara) was the first song on the Metallica (reimagined) Black List Album. Anyway, it would be great if you guys would be able to react on their recent show in Poland, The Pol' and Rock Festival. If you like lighting, this concert is a feast for the eyes. Again, thank you and Happy New Year! Love your dog. Btw, your outro donut graphics suits The Warning since Dany loves donuts. LOL
First, I'm not the biggest Metallica fan, but I respect them for their contribution to Metal and Rock. But when I heard this version, I literally jumped out of my seat !!! You Can Do a carbon copy of this song yes, but Now, This Song, thanks to these three sisters, is a whole different animal altogether. As a full blown Metalhead myself, these young ladies stole my Metal heart, Especially Pau (Paulina the drummer). This song is on Metallica's tribute album "The Metallica Blacklist", And it's great and all (Alessia Cara is the singer with The Warning), but I love Dany's voice more. This whole Concert at Pepsi Centre is a real Gem !!! ⚡Viva The WARNING⚡ NWSU/FloorFan/Epican/Ayreonaut/TWA/PauFan🤘😎🤘.
Loving this series of reactions! Can I just say I'm noticing that your sound quality has become a little strange. The video vocals are sounding a bit tinny? Like the speaker is in dustbin? Bass is is fine.

Look, I like Alessia Cara, but she just wasn't necessary for the album version. There's another well shot performance at Teatro Metropolitan without the strings, and that's become my personal "official" version. They do! Not! Miss! Ever! You have been warned ⚡🤘
Film them or not as you see fit, but treat yourselves to the OMV and the 2022 Teatro Metropolitan CDMX performances. Both are slightly different variants that are well worth hearing. th-cam.com/video/9tKQgesCcTc/w-d-xo.html OMV th-cam.com/video/vg9vNE7gm0I/w-d-xo.html Teatro Met

Dudes, you have to check their “Pol and Rock” gig, absolute top tier.
Reactors are getting blocked/striked for reviewing Pol'and'Rock videos. Its safer to stick with videos from The Warning's official channel.
You guys are killing it! Keep up the good work.

I think this version of Enter Sandman is way better than the original and that's coming from a die hard Metallica fan.
Agreed!...Same here.
