Tatra Trucks manufactures production trucks as well as special cars to measure. It has 1,100 employees and another 600 people work in the subsidiary Tatra Metalurgie. The majority owner of the Tatras is the Czechoslovak Group of Michal Strnad.
Tatra is a Czech vehicle manufacturer from Kopřivnice.
TATRA TRUCKS a.s. is a world famous manufacturer of heavy trucks. TATRA TRUCKS builds on the rich, more than 170-year-long history of vehicle development and production.
TATRA vehicles are unique thanks to the so-called "Tatra chassis concept". The robust chassis gives TATRA vehicles incredible capabilities when driving through the most demanding terrain in extreme climatic conditions, whether it is crackling Arctic frosts or high temperatures in the desert. Reliability, high quality of production, great utility properties, modern cabins and economical power units - all this is a part of every TATRA car.
There are 4 model lines in the current #TATRA TRUCKS production program. The civil sector is represented by the TATRA PHOENIX and TATRA TERRA models. Special and defense projects are presented by the TATRA FORCE and TATRA TACTIC series. As part of the development and customer requirements, TATRA vehicles are constantly modernized and equipped with the latest, environmentally friendly and cost-effective technologies. TATRA has a great advantage in the high level of human potential not only in development but also in production.
Since its foundation, TATRA has been based in the town of Kopřivnice in the eastern part of the Czech Republic. In the same city, there is also a subsidiary of TATRA METALURGIE a.s., which manufactures castings and forgings for engineering applications in many European countries.
TATRA TRUCKS a.s. is a partner of many cultural and sporting events. The company works closely with major technology museums, where visitors can learn about the long and rich history of the brand and its products, including not only trucks and cars, but also buses, cars, aircraft, engines and other means of transport.

I like Tatra's.
I called on Freightliner,Daimler Benz Trucks, for 21 years.
I then owned a defense company building armored vehicles for the Middle East.
I always wanted to see Tatra building trucks in North America.
Shame that US military will never buy weapons from "eastern europe". There is a self propelled artillery from tatra, which only needs 2 people to operate, and they remain inside the armored cabin the whole time. The name is Morana, prototype was presented in spring.
All other systems be like : 4 people and they go outside. Meanwhile US military has still towed infantry, just like ww1.

@@4t61405 samozřejmě za soudruha a před ním. Zas tak hrozný jako za amíků to není.
@@DurangoCzechoslovakia Mysliš že za soudruha byla větši preciznost ? A navic v te době to byla spiše seriova vyroba ,15000 ks ročně ,což nyni jen desetina.
@@4t61405 to nevím, ale auta to byly kvalitní a téměř bezúdržbový. Vidíš, že jezdí dodnes bez větších problémů. Co se týče počtu, tak čím víc vyrobených aut, tím lepší, ne? Navíc to bylo všechno domácí. Vlastní motory, převodovky, kabiny... Dnes je všechno kupované.
