I really wish people were as kind and helpful today like they were back then.
I agree, nobody is the same way anymore. If this were happening today, people would be filming with their cellphones and uploading to worldstar.
This show should have never gone off the air it was educational in what to do incase of a real emergency.
The 80s and 90s where good decades ! These kind of shows couldn't have survived in these stupid times, where everything is stupid !
When that car went under that semi my jaw dropped. It's amazing that she survived that and she looks perfectly fine from what you can see.
I love this woman Jane! She is awesome, so lively!
i agree she really is she has a child like excitement and love for the world
Jane's car was caught in a truck, sparked, exploded, and Jane got burned, so she was treated at the US burn center. When you drive a car, I hope that you look closely at it and drive. Jane, cheer up!^^ If there is a video center in the US, there are many video hospitals in Korea.~~ Thank you for saving Jane's life in the U.S. American guy ^^ There are a lot of burn hospitals in Korea, too.^^
@amez4life everytime i read a comment or hear someone stick up for someone who's gay, black or anything like that i like to take a moment and thank them. thank you amez4life
I agree. I had two cousins who were in a similar accident on Easter Sunday 1997. Their car went under the trailor of a semi and one was killed instantly and the other died later that day at the hospital. That woman in the clip was one of the lucky ones.
JANE, do you ever watch this ? How are you doing ? I'd have to say that you are one strong woman !
I guess that is one reason I like this show: it restores my faith in mankind to see how many good people are willing to help in an emergency. From that conflagration, it really took a set to go get into the wreckage and pull her out ! And how do they get these re-enactments so realistic ? Some of them must have been pretty high-budget to re-create.
I remember watching a show on one of the science tv channels back in high school (late 90's/early 00's) that was about how they created stunts and special effects for movies and TV shows.
One of the episodes featured the stunt coordinator and special effects supervisor for Rescue 911 and they were interviewed at length, they talked all about how they filmed the show and how they preserved the realism of every recreation by doing all the effects and stunts live in camera.
One of the segments actually featured behind the scenes footage of them filming the accident scene in this story shot from a secondary camera on the camera truck that was filming the recreation of the accident itself.
I wish I could remember the name of the show itself but the interview was actually quite fascinating because they explained how they filmed different events and even showed off their "boneyard" of wrecked cars that had been used in recreations of car accidents along with some behind the scenes footage of them burning a house down to film a house fire segment.
Go Jane!!! You're awesome!
God Bless all involved in saving her life
It's been 30 years since this happened so Jane is 65 now. I’m sure she’ll always hold a place in her heart for those who risked their lives for her. She resembles Alice from "The Brady Bunch". When I saw Jane's car go under the semi truck, I saw terrified. This happened on a Friday. Thank goodness she survived.
It's good seeing other people help out in real situations rescue 911 your show rocks thanks take care way to go. Joe
Exactly! And what difference does it make if she's a lesbian or not? What matters is that she's alive. I swear, some people today have become so overly critical about the sexual orientation, race, and other little tidbits of a person that they don't get to see the real them.
and some probably said something like "the 4 lived together happily ever after" shakes head
I think Jane has a Demi Moore look to her.
I love it when the police officer says 'I knew it was a car accident'. Must be an inspector.
I seriously thought that she was a goner. I am so glad she was alive and recovered fully !
“I grabbed the cellular...”
Aww! She's helping special people!
Let's stop and hope everyone is doing ok right its goes to show strangers will help in real life situations even on rescue 911your show they and the paramedics and firemen who proudly serve us your service and time and efforts are deeply appreciated even on rescue always learning something new each day from love and appreciate you guys rock thanks great job by everyone who responds keep them safe out there ! Joe
Thank you Allgood 2000 for uploading this and all the other episodes this a few others bring back memories from when I was a kid and used to tape Rescue 911 on Vhs.
You wouldn't happen to still have any of those tapes lying around, would you? These episodes are getting harder and harder to come by.
@@allgood2000 I wish I did man I threw out all my old Vhs tapes back in 2004 when I got a dvd player.
this happened to me as well, except the truck hit me from trying to switch into my lane. its a very scary experience
@@prolilgamer9233 Honestly ya should. Having driven trucks, though I wasnt good at it, it actually feels quite unsafe having little cars boxing me in. I hated having to constantly wonder if there was a car in my blind spot somewhere. I usually would be quite slow to get over, because I think one of my biggest fears is in fact killing someone cuz I missed a tiny detail like a car in a blind spot. I would check, check again and then get over slow as a tortoise just to make sure. Im sure I annoyed people behind me. I liked it when there were little to no cars on the road.
@@prolilgamer9233 ya,you should ..don't drive beside ,behind ,or slam your brakes on in front of them ... And don't drive in the left lane unless you are advancing around the slow drivers in the right lane...🙄
Jane you are so kind
That lady Jane was very lucky I'm glad she is ok
i wish more shows like this existed. all of the first responder drama shows that come on now are ridiculously unrealistic
hey the "it's gonna blow" quote is used in an earlier segment "Woman car rescue"
She is a very very lucky women
this wasnt the truckers fault, and if your in the fast lane going slower then the flow of traffic, then yes you should move the hell over and give way.
the "It's gonna blow" quote is from #118 and that segment is here on youtube.
It’s been 33 years since this happened. At the time, I was 8 and one month away from my ninth birthday and my brother Andrew was 6 3/4 turning 7. We were living in Fountain Hills, Arizona. We lived in the mountain time zone. If it was 10 PM in Georgia, it was 7 PM in Arizona. Something tells me we were getting ready for bed.
@NDW85 you would be amazed how easy it is to fall asleep at the wheel one of my jobs is in transportation and we get in SO much trouble if the boss finds out we are driving tired. he was a truck driver for years himself and saw what driving tired can do to people behind such a fast piece of machinery.
Convertible Was Sent To The Junkyard Later
I drive tractor trailer and I certainly don't want this to happen. I have seen cars go right into the rear of the trailers and nothing left of the car. This truck driver did everything right stopping the rig straight. It's not his fault at all.
Yeah, I'm guessing they wanted to show more footage of the stunt. Even though the actual event was probably pretty scary, the stunt done for the re-enactment looks pretty awesome on camera.
My brother Danny is this video. He is at the table being taught by Jane.
Maybe miracles do come true after all these years later it goes to show people will help strangers in real life situations even on rescue 911your show rocks they and the paramedics and firemen who proudly serve us your service and time and efforts are deeply appreciated even on rescue 911your show rocks keep them safe out there great job great team work and good catches as usual still going strong you should be amazed and proud love and appreciate you guys thanks you guys rock way to go stay safe and warm out there !! Joe
Wonderful...They saved a good lady
I think it took the driver a minute to notice the car was back there.
I-75 is a really dangerous Interstate. I have been on interstate 75 many times
When the convertible swerved under the semi my jaw dropped!!
I can't agree with you more.
Something like this happened to one of my friends. Her car, a race car that was kinda flat like this convertible, slipped underneath an 18-wheeler during a heavy rain on a highway. She died.
She might have just been tired and dozed off.
I used to drive over the road truck and people seldom survived an accident such as this and there were a lot of them. The interstate highways are overcrowded almost anywhere you go. I avoid them wherever possible.
At 65 mph, it takes about 500 feet for a semi to stop.
This episode was aired before the 1994 Winter Olympics
She's a miracle of God
First time I cried on a 911... walking across the finish line...
Fantastic rescue, that guy is a HERO. I dont know about the tattoo thing tho. xoxo
This is the kind of scene happened to one of my mom's friend. and She was in hospital came out well.
It hurts to see them suffer
"Her friend" sure.
I guess i can forgive it since it was the 90's but jeez it made me cringe when they said they called her good friend. Just say it why the hell do you have to beat around the bush.
Super lame but that’s how it was. Typically they’d be labeled ‘roommates’
convertibles are nice to drive because there is no roof, but sometimes they are scary when you think of what would happen. My biggest worry is flipping and breaking my neck
... LIKE A YOUNG ' DEMI MOORE ' .. BRAT PACK ERA .. GOOD SHOW THOUGH CHEERS ALOT ..🖖🤩🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦
what great story
wow.Had a couple of close calls with falling asleep myself.Luckily I woke up,when the tires started hobbling over the shoulder. One rest area awake and ready to drive 200 more miles,20 minutes later eyelids made of lead and nowhere to pull over...
I was exactly one month old when this accident happened :)
If I was there I will help poor lady and save her life as I know first aid so well since I learned first aid course in singapore and I am still learning more first aid
Beautiful story
I heard someone say what's the mile marker; back then the exit #'s in Georgia were not numbered by the mile marker, now they are just like all the other states except VT,NH,CT,MA,DE,RI, and NY.
I have a developmental disability myself, which is called autism. Sometimes I wish I didn’t have it at all but then I realize it’s part of who I am.
My mom worked there during that same year
OMG that hospital is in my town, How neat is that?
I been to Valdosta this last summer for my sister's wedding.
It happened in real life where I work and it WASN'T pretty. I won't say anything further because I doubt a general audience could handle knowing what it looked like. But I WILL say it happened while he was trying to send a text message. I swear on a stack of bibles I CAN'T understand why people continue to send text messages while driving.
+Vicki Bee Well, thank god you would never catch me doing something stupid and dangerous like texting and driving. If I'm driving and someone sends me a text message, I just wait until I get to my destination and then I text someone back. You know, it's always a good idea to use some common sense every once in a while.
Because people are stupid, there phone controls there lives, The phone should be turned off while driving.!,!!!!!!!
well hellooooo Dr!
Since he was driving such a large vehicle, he probably couldn't even feel the impact.
Way to go Jane
This also happened six days before Independence Day.
I’ll never forget these dumba** neighbor kids were playing with fireworks behind our mobile home, well the weeds caught fire and I had to evacuate the home. Besides myself, my sister and 3 cats resided in the home (at that moment) parents at work. I had to get everybody out. It’s so weird how you just don’t think you just do! Everybody got out, we were safe. After all the adrenaline, I had a massive bloody nose (I guess stress related) for 30 minutes.
I was 14. The city wanted to give me some type of award. I declined it. I was just looking out for fam, ya know?
It first aired on April 18, 1989 and the last new episode aired August 27, 1996.
I'am sooooooo glad she lived
My brother Danny is in this episode he is wearing suit jacket being taught by Jane the one who was in the car.
this epsdoes makes me cry every time I see it
Good thing it was not an autonomous truck, It would have kept right on going, machines need operators
At 6:31, the hospital closing scene look like a reused scene from Comeback Kid on 416. Doesn't it look like it?
thats so scary. This happened to my new brother in law, the truck driver was drunk and came over into his lane and crushed his car. He died instantly they had only been married for 27 days. The truck company settled with my sister for more than a million dollars.
Is it just me, or is there NO shoulder on that highway? There was definitely some safety issues with the highway there - a paved shoulder with rumble strips (the norm today) could have awakened her and prevented at least getting under as she could have steered it back some. Also the traffic volumes there probably warrant 6 lanes.
I think I would have to agree with you...
Glad she made it okay.
I total agree
I COMPLETELY forgot shatner hosted this show
You know, it has been said that she fell asleep. I have often wondered how that happened. Had she been drinking or was it a medical problem?
yeah I get that vibe
You should bit drive when you are sleepy
I think Jane is very lucky
I believe I saw a short preview of how this stunt was made with toy cars and a toy road before the actual segment aired.
I hope she is okay
Worried about myself not others people
yeah, i don't think even a fully loaded semi should take that long to stop. i know that his brakes wouldn't squeal constantly like that, though. THe car going under wasn't exactly like christmas vacation, was it?
Nothing is impossible for Jesus Christ
did she have a strock.
She a lucky kid
That was a pretty modern looking ambulance @ 4:30 It looks like a Ford F series, anyone know what model?
My brother is Marty, in the video.....Jane simply fell asleep...
irysheyes19 your brother did a wonderful job saving Jane’s life.
Are Marty and Jane still friends?
Well you’re not allowed to « simply fall asleep » while you’re driving
You say it as though it happens to everyone
@@judethaddeus9856 It Does happen to a LOT of people however Few cases Result in a Serious accident, Regardless, of 'Allowances'. ; p
