    I like the way you taped off the area. I never knew how to avoid those hard lines!

    Try West System 6-10 epoxy adhesive for your filler, then finish it out with West Epoxy and their thickener! Check them out, Have been working with glass for 50 years and it works very well doesn't shrink and won't Crack there again. If you are a little deep with your prep, add some fiberglass to your repair! Thanks for the video

    @boostedZ how much could you charge a client to do a similar job today? I have an RV with a similar crack (location, color, size) and I'm trying to figure out how much this would cost to get repaired. Thanks!

    Awesome video!! Thanks for sharing
    Quick question. Which filler do you recommend to go over the filon. It has to be flexible. It’s going from the corner of the roof to the side wall. It just has to be smoothed out. Trying to fix a previous sh?tyy repair job

    As a Bodyman of many many years, I’m really shocked you don’t have to use a mesh tape to structural repair that crack, and drill the end. If I did that on a bumper repair crack, it would split back open. I don’t work on RV’s and maybe you’ve had good luck with this process, I’m just surprised it doesn’t open back up over time. Maybe I’m not giving your product enough credit. Not criticizing, more curious on your luck with this process. Thanks

      100%. You have to get some glass into that repair or that filler will just crack along the line. Depending on how thick the material being repaired was I would use a layer of chopped strand mat at a minimum and preferably some biaxial fabric like 1708 if the material being repaired was over 3/32" thick. I work on boats.

    I have no body or fiberglass experience so this is a purely uneducated question, would the body filler with fiberglass "hair" in it work for rv repair?

    • @boostedz72
      @boostedz72  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ya that should work fine!!

    Do you stop drill the crack? Flexing while driving might cause the crack to migrate?

    Problem is, why did it crack? Is the slide out dropping, not affixed properly or misaligned?

    • @boostedz72
      @boostedz72  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    After working in a industrial business for 30 years and required to wear a mask for personal protection, facial hair was not acceptable as you could not get a good seal between the mask and your face to protect you from breathing in the fine particles through your facial hairs. So at this point it doesn’t matter if you wear a mask or not!
