That means that 1% are legit based on his metrics. So that means you'll have 200 choices of legit ones to invest in that are not scams, or at zero. I'm just grateful there is no criminal activities happening in equities and metals and that no crimes are committed using cash...(rolls eyes)

@@jackshrader4161 I’ve been buying bitcoin since 8k. If I sold the top and bought back I’d have 6 times the bitcoin. If I didn’t sell I’d only be up 10k. I rather be an active trader than a passive investor any day. That’s me personally. I think most whales are doing the same, that’s why the huge dumps. They tell the small investors to hodl so they have exit liquidity. Just my 2 cents, or sats. But please, hodl all day if that makes you happy.

His statement that "99% of crypto" being a scam are unsupported. Perhaps if the impromptu interview were longer, he'd have had time to build a case for it, but as the video is right now, he's making empty statements. I think the problem is that his use of the term "crypto" is probably focused on the meme coins (along with BTC itself) that serve no purpose. But tokens that are intended to be the underlying exchange for blockchain technology (ie ethereum) do serve a purpose and aren't a scam. The technology and societal integration just isn't there yet. Even his talking points on blockchain itself are very limited in scope and vision. His example of utilizing blockchain for developing a database of produce is a terrible example, since that was never the intended use for it. Yes, blockchain can be utilized as a global ledger.. but it wouldn't be used as a ledge of physical products. It'd be a ledge of digital data. But the wider application of blockchain was for running programs and protocols, so that the security of the programs/protocols can't be subverted. His final point of blockchain being energy intensive is definitely true, but most technological advancements require large amounts of energy (ie space travel.) As a species, we need to continue to develop better methods of generating energy in order to grow. As our ability to generate energy improves, the energy-intensive nature of blockchain will become a moot point.

I think, in my opinion (you can correct me), crypto is very useful just for sending money from one person to other person because of cheap cost and fast compare to traditional institution transaction. But it's not for investing. It's just a mediation for sending money.

Other benefits seem quite small as he correctly points out. Lots of existing digitization processes dont need blockchain to work well.

It's funny up until there was crypto currency 100% of all money related crimes like laundering, tax dodging, ponzi schemes, and downright theft of funds was done with fiat currencies. But we didn't try to shut them down for these same reasons we want to shut crypto down because certain people still control the vast majority of it and where it flows too.

Dr, Doom and Gloom. Notice it is the old folks who do not like change. He says you can't put the quality of a tomato on the blockchain. Oh boy.
He didn't say that. He said sure you can put the value there but what does that mean except that it's saved to the blockchain? The main concern is actually having someone verify the quality of the tomato.
Once that's done sure you can save it to the blockchain but your trust still lies with the person who inspected the tomato in the first place. So the chain serves no purpose here. We can implement security rules around the whole thing to ensure only verified writers can commit as well, and give everyone read permissions.
