My school has changed a lot over the years. I graduated in 2007. The cafeteria is totally different. Thank you so much for the video. I have not been back there to visit since 2009. I think I will plan a trip this summer back to the CIA. I miss the good old days. Again thank you so much Victoria this was so nice to watch.
That was a fun tour. I am a 1984 graduate. Things have changed a lot! It would be cool to see you do a more formal tour, and go through much more of Roth Hall and the kitchens and classrooms that are used. Just a thought.
I JUST GOT A CALL CONGRATULATING ME ON MY ACCEPTANCE INTO THIS SCHOOL TODAYYY!!!! I’m so excited (extremely terrified to leave california so far way) but nonetheless i’m excited !!! this video definitely helped me see where i’m going
Really appreciate you making this video. I was just recently accepted and start September next year. Being out of school for 5 years has made me a little worried about getting back to the classroom, but the campus looks so beautiful, I think everything will be okay.
Thank you for this video, it's very rare that i see videos that are from Hyde Park and Poughkeepsie. I pass your school almost every day. PS. im subbing.
Nice video! I'm a 2006 graduate and haven't been up there in a while. I cannot believe what they built with the egg and brewery! Study hard and try not to have too much fun!
Your videos are great. I'm actually seeking employment with the CIA currently and really appreciate the work you put into candidly speaking about your experience and the school. Long story short, I always need to evaluate whether a potential employer would be a "fit" for me, and your videos helped me imagine that fit a lot more than I typically can. Keep it up, your skills are certainly useful for a side hustle at some point!
Hello from greystone campus! I love to see what New York is like and I wish you luck. I am in HVP right now and about to go on externship in a few weeks.
I can understand about that thing about New York City in New York because I live in Illinois and everyone always says “oh so Chicago” as if that’s the only city in Illinois
I've been thinking about going to the Cia since I was little, I grew up in Poughkeepsie(neighboring town) this video is very helpful because im now living in Massachusetts about 2 hours away. Anyway I get the whole NY vs NYC thing, I get it all the time, oh you're from NYC like no upstate ny, people are always disappointed.
I’m a senior currently at a vocational school all I gotta say is make sure you pass your serve safe certification in high school so you don’t have to do it in college and just learn as much as you can and cook with confidence even if you never made it before he confident , and get cool with the chefs it will Help when you have to write your letter of recommendation
I got to talk to one of the CIA representatives today at a college fair and I really want to go here so bad especially when they told me about the student run French restaurant
@@jenalexandramartinez141 Oh good job I will be sure to look into those competitions because culinary school is very ecpensive and CIA is my dream school. Thank you! (:
I was driving from Maryland to Montreal (through the Adirondacks) for a vacation about 20 years ago and accidentally ran into the CIA. I stopped and walked around a bit, but there wasn't much going on because it was summer. Would have loved to have tried some of the food there.
IKR I tell people I live in New York and they ask me how it’s like living in the city and I’m like I live in the suburbs of the city and their like oh so basically the city and I’m like no i’m like an hour from the city
i just found out about the school and i want to go so bad but i don’t if i could afford it and a dorm too. I wanna get a scholarship but i don’t know the requirements to get one ☹️💔help ?
i live right next to it!! A great college to attend with amazing professors. im starting this summer, do you have any advice for me? I did 2 years of culinary down to the city but im looking to go for bachelors.
yeah i mean it depends if you have a job or not and a car! I didn't have a car so i worked on campus but honestly the schedule makes it really hard to work!
You can tell she’s not from New England haha. Also I’m going to a technical school studying culinary what should I do to get a better chance to go to the CIA
Girl I get back from extern on July 10th and you seem super chill! I'd love to hang with ya when I get back! Feel free to message me if you want a new friend haha!
Congrats! Make the absolute best of every day. Go to every demo, join every club that you are interested in, volunteer at the bake shop, and explore, explore, explore. Seriously- take full advantage of everything there. Don't complain and be grateful. (I am a Bachelor's grad from 2005)
Hey im applying to CIA New York and I wanted to see how people there and you yourself respond to the statement "food Is Life", Could you help me out? thanks a lot, great video!
Victoria Tschopp Oh, I see. Let me ask you one more question! In your latest video, you said that there are many academic classes including culinary math, food safety, etc. Then, do you wear your whites or business casual in those classes?
Peda Narayana Mopuri go on their website and literally just apply. CIA is one of the most easiest school I applied too. After you apply just send your transcript

Victoria Tschopp does it depend on when your start date is when your breaks happen?
nope!
It looks like a beautifull school.
So if you run through the fountain you get expelled. Imagining a bunch of people after receiving their degree running through it
Did mom and dad pay 4 this? Like all of it?
Do you live at the school?

I am from India and I really love cooking and I badly want to get into CIA. Its my dream. But its too expensive :( What do you suggest?

All college book stores are overpriced, I just got accepted into the CIA and am very excited
Congrats! Make the absolute best of every day. Go to every demo, join every club that you are interested in, volunteer at the bake shop, and explore, explore, explore. Seriously- take full advantage of everything there. Don't complain and be grateful. (I am a Bachelor's grad from 2005)

Does anyone know what they require for the college
Dashawn Beavers if you mean applying then just your transcript,
M1ndl3ss do you need to takd the sat or act?

Hey im applying to CIA New York and I wanted to see how people there and you yourself respond to the statement "food Is Life", Could you help me out? thanks a lot, great video!
How to apply?
0:30 I feel ya :( people know New york as New York City...and not upstate :(
i was confused toooo! hahaha
I heard that the CIA has a dress code, but isn't it required every day?
Yes, you pretty much wear your whites every day in your first year. if you're not in your whites you're wearing business casual which is pretty rare!
Victoria Tschopp
Oh, I see. Let me ask you one more question! In your latest video, you said that there are many academic classes including culinary math, food safety, etc. Then, do you wear your whites or business casual in those classes?
Yes that is correct. As a freshman you are basically wearing your whites in every single class.
Do you have to wear business casual or chef whites in the library and the egg?
not the library or the egg
How to apply for CIA ? Please I 'm begging you please make video on how to apply to CIA. By the way your videos are so helpful and awesome. I

It's got to be super easy to get in that school right. I mean it's freaking cooking school
Ryan Craven you do realized their are many cooking schools and not everyone one of them is easy to get into..
I wish I were rich :/
they offer scholarships!
Victoria Tschopp i dont think so for foreign students.
13:52 Food students be fat
Or just weak, i guess. Have trouble climbing a small hill.
