A vlog about the Odessa of today. And the Odessa of happier times. But also with eyes on the Odessa that will be in the future. Одесса жила. Одесса живет. Одесса будет жить.
Thank you for sharing Odessa’s beauty. It’s a shame for its people losing income. I live in a tourist town and understand about visitors bringing in money. The dolphin story is very sad. Thank you for sharing Philip. Stay safe! 🇺🇦
I am a Sparkler, and it’s been so great to make your acquaintance on Hal’s live streams. I grew up in a tourist center, and I can imagine what it would be like if it were to shut down like this. I look forward to learning more from you online. Be safe!
Thank you Philip. These walk around videos are fascinating, every little bit. I have seen so little of Ukraine til now, you show so much to humanise the situation. No slick production needed, this is perfect. You are doing what I would do, please do more. Thank you very much
I don't think this so right now. Ivano Frankivsk is top of my list but not during the war. Too many other places to see and topics to discuss. But someday absolutely.
That’s a shame, what beautiful city.I’m from Erie Pa and the summers are tourists time.Seeing the empty beaches of Odessa was weird.Stay safe in your travels Big guy ✌️Slava Ukraine 🇺🇦 Glory to the heroes 🇺🇦
Used to swim and train very often on that beach. Also used to play basketball with my fellow Ukr. Colleagues in Lanjeron. Ukraine has been pillaged by its own leaders since 1992. The Potential of this country is endless. Due to greed now is a xxxxxhole
This channel has become a mountain of logic and truth about what is occurring in Ukraine 🇺🇦. Thanks Phil. Stay safe and let us know how it's going! ✨ What's the food like? Enough?✨🇺🇦💪🇺🇦 🇺🇦Glory Ukraine 🇺🇦 🇺🇦 Glory Heroes 🇺🇦
Could become a regular “Our Man In…” kinda travelogue series even after Ukraine wins the war. “Ittner Observes Politics (and Shops for Pickled Veggies) in Moldova” or something. Unleash your sense of humor and embrace the profanity we all know is appropriate sometimes. I’ll continue watching in any case. Until then stay safe and please keep updating us on your channel and on Hal’s show.
@philip Ittner it would be extremely interesting- and get you a lot of subs - if you did “man on the street” interviews with ordinary Ukrainians. Along the lines of the Russian one, but for our side. You could get questions from the viewers and ask a lot of Ukrainians the questions and show them answering. You could translate the answers if they don’t speak English. Right now I think people don’t understand that there are still Ukrainians living and working in Ukraine. Of course you could also do these interesting videos as well, but to get lots of people to subscribe I think the low production time interviews would be awesome.
Odessa is beautiful! My heart aches for the dolphins. You have done a wonderful job showing us the continued resilient spirit of the Ukrainian people. Do you think that the Black Sea will ever be safe to be in again? ❤️🙏
Mines of all sorts are tricky. Because they are explosives just armed and left to explode on contact. But I do think that if peace comes the majority of them can be found and de-activated. But there will be a risk for many eyars to come. They are still finding landmines throughout the world from conflicts decades ago.
@@PhilipIttner It would take a serious level of unlucky. They are tethered to the sea bed and you need to mess with the contacts. Now the land mines that I imagine are deployed in the scrub lands to the cycle path.... lets say over the next year or two I'll stay on the paths.
I love seeing you on Hal Sparks show. Good to see a channel on TH-cam comment section not taken over by Russian trolls. I never knew Odessa is such a beautiful city. Btw, did you know that in prehistoric times, the Black Sea was an enormous freshwater lake? Even now, it is linked to the Mediterranean by the Bosporus which is as narrow as a river way.
i'll take your word for it because the first thing i noticed is there are no boats on the water! whose ring is on your neck? i love dolphins! native peoples say that when Shamans die, they become Dolphins.. the Yaqui say that.. great name for a band; "Grandmothers with Malatov Cocktails" !!! Looks like East Hampton, NY.. that one area.. Don't worry, be happy.. if only wishes were fishes and cast our nets.. thank you Philip for the Odessa tour.. if only we could cast nets to haul in democracy of the people for the people because of the people. xo stay safe rock on
Another wonderful video Philip. Odessa is such a beautiful city. Glad to see you are safe and well. I pray this terrible war ends and the people and tourists return. Slava Ukraini 💙💛
Love that convertible at the 11:06 mark, on the right hand side. Would you know the name and make of the vehicle? Love the lines and the color... Arcadia, along with everything else, is beautiful! Thank you for sharing. God bless and be safe... SLAVA UKRAINI🇺🇦❤💪🏼🇺🇦
@@PhilipIttner thank you for your reply... Hal mentioned during his morning show that Odessa had experienced airstrikes, but assured us that he had been in contact with you and that you were safe. May God continue to keep you safe🤗 SLAVA UKRAINI🇺🇦❤️💪🇺🇦

That’s a timely review of what can be versus what’s happening now👀
It's really a shame to see Odessa like this in summer. Thanks for the update Philip.
By the way how did you get there in such times?

It is a GAZ Chaika convertible. Usually reserved for the party elite during the USSR.
