Imagine being a 16 year old kid an waiting for this album to come out, then driving an hour and a half to buy it. Then pouring over the lyrics and reading them to my friend on the long journey home. Finally reaching home, rolling a fat one and throwing this on the turn table for the first time. It was grand. Thanks to my best friend and partner in crime back then. Ron. (Still a friend for life).
Great story and I feel ya. Did the same thing (minus the weed) with Ride The Lightening and For Those About To Rock. I remember flying in the U.S. Navy and jamming Sign Of The Southern Cross on repeat over our internal communications system (ICS). But the way, my first name is Ron haha :-)
Sabbath ' s slow metal has no equal. Powerful, Atmospheric very well structured, lots of dynamics , Super powerful voice of Dio and musicians in their prime !
Ronnie James Dio vocals are the most powerful I have ever heard. This album was his peak, also Heaven and Hell. Both albums from start to finish are masterpieces.
Oh yeah, good old Sabbath! This band is my alltime favorite band. And as you Rich, I grew up on classic rock. Had my parents vinyl records to play. Boston, Elo, Ac/Dc, Sabbath and Alice Cooper. But Black Sabbath always stayed in my heart. And all the eras of Sabbath, Ozzy, Dio, Ian Gillan, Hughes and Tony Martin. Love it all. Take care, you two!
I think both Ozzy and Ronnie are treasures .I bought and listened to Sabbath with both of them and loved every minute of it and loved their solo careers as well. It's just great rock!
Subscribed today on the strength of the song choice /quality of reaction / insight into your life. I'm telling you - you guys are EPIC! Love how into eachother you both are. I'm wishing you all the smiles in the world and nothing but good life experiences! Lot of love from Wales \m/
great song, brings me back to my youth, yes it is RJD. the second album before he went solo. this one and heaven & hell. two awesome albums after Ozzy.
SABBATH blows ANY other band clean out of the water, no other band can make u feel the impending doom that the world could end at any second, Dio is the ultimate Sabbath for me🕇🤘👊🤘🕇
Ahhh one of my favorites! I saw the Mob Rules tour live at the Hollywood Sportatorium and was completely blown away by the performance! Ronnie James Dio is my absolute favorite metal singer! Oh and by the way, an upstart band by the name of Motley Crue opened up the show! Great memory!
I get so caught up in the Heaven and Hell album I forget how good Mob Rules was. I like Kel, as soon as Dio started singing "I love it". Yeah he was the best ever.
🤘 Hey HEYYY!! Stay out of my metal timeline yous, too close for comfort. I can remember a time when I suggested this to Vin and Sori, blew their minds and I could never feel happier seeing you all react to my favorites, thank you so much Kel-n-Rich 🤘 #blacksabbath Anno Mundi Chicago IL
This is definitely from one of the best Sabbath albums ever. People always focus on Ozzy years but I think Dio has the perfect metal voice and delivery here. Beauty and power mixed with a touch of evil.
Ozzy will always be Black Sabbath, this is the band Heaven and Hell in my opinion. You ever heard Dio singing the Ozzy stuff? Its horrible. Ozzy's Sabbath created metal period! Dont get me wrong, I love Dio and the 4 Heaven and Hell studio albums. THE DEVIL YOU KNOW is an underrated masterpiece imo.
To me, Dio Sabbath is just better. Tony's best work was done while writing with Dio. His solos are amazing and his riffs are edgier. Those 2 wrote some of the best Sabbath songs of all time, even if not quite as commercially successful. Some have complained that Dio doesn't sing Ozzy's songs very well. While this may be a popular opinion, I would point out that Dio can at least sing Ozzy's songs. The reverse is not true. Ozzy would have never been capable of singing any of the Dio Sabbath. Dio's voice is far superior to Ozzy's in almost every measurable way. Of course Ozzy will always enjoy broader, more commercial appeal. I've been an Ozzy fan since Blizzard. But the more I hear Ronnie James Dio (Rainbow, Sabbath, Dio, and Yes, "Heaven and Hell") sing, the more impressed I am by his sheer talent.
@@scottthompson4193 if you had heard Ozzy trying to sing any of Dio's songs it would have sounded like pure crap, both of them's singing styles are way too different from each other. In my opinion Dio is the better singer of the two (and no im not hating on Ozzy)
Those 2 Dio Sabbath albums (Heaven & Hell and Mob Rules) are unquestionably on my "deserted island" list. I almost requested this very song tonight and you beat me to it! LOL 9K subs in 5 weeks, that's insane guys. Congrats!
Ok. I only discovered your channel 3 days ago. I had listened to a number of other channels but subscribed to any of them, until your's. I was hooked with your reaction to FFDP Wrong Side of Heaven. So I've been watching as many of your past reactions I have time for. As I said before, you two are real and I love it. So many of my favorite songs that you're reviewing including this one. I love Kels reactions to songs she's never heard before and with her back ground in music can see how amazing Metal is. love the shirt Kel, went to that concert here in Portland last year. It was an amazing show. So back to Sabbath, Mob Rules Album. I had that one on 8-Track way back lol. So many good tunes on it too. Check out Country Girl :-) Long Live Metal!
Beautiful reactions to my fave BlackSab song, Luvz!!! FUNNY imitation by Rich of that wind-sound. So cool how you did NOT expect the ERUPTION after RJD sang "Fade away fade away / vanish in the squall / fade away fade away / break the crystal ball". Those haters are brainless ... THANK YOU!!!
It's always about Dio,Ozzy and sometimes Gillan... very few ever mention Tony Martin who had a fantastic voice and suited their music perfectly! Take a listen to "The Shining" or "The Headless Cross" and listen for yourselves!
Tony is defnitely underrated and dismissed. I think that Tyr is one of the better albums in the 80's. Anno Mundi, Ancient Warrior, Valhalla, Sabbath stones and Nightwing are just a few good songs from Tony era.
Sadly, it happens all the time- awesome musicians getting ignored and forgotten like this. Paul Di Anno ( vocals) on Iron Maidens first two LP's, Dennis Straton ( guitar) on Iron Maiden's first LP, Tommy Bolin who replaced Ritchie Blackmore in Deep Purple's "Come Taste The Band", Jake Lee ( Ozzy Ozbourne), John Arch (vocals) on the first albums of Fates Warning, John Rutsey (drums) on the first albums of Rush.... just to name a very few.
Damn. You two are too much fun. I just watched you listening to Heaven & Hell and adore just how diverse your musical tastes are. You also seem really sweet and fun to hang with. I hope you're both doing OK.
Great reaction! That's exactly how I feel listening to this song, it's one of the best Dio years. I notice you guys have only reacted to one Rainbow song, and no Dio solo stuff yet. There's a few you should check out for sure. #painintheask Rainbow Kill the King Portland OR #painintheask Rainbow Tarot Woman #painintheask Rainbow Gates of Babylon #painintheask Dio Last in Line #painintheask Dio Holy Diver #painintheask BlackSabbath Heaven and Hell
Dio with Sabbath is much like him with Rainbow...I'm impressed how seamlessly they did these songs despite that 'some' Sabbath fans think the band sold out because it's not Sabbath at all. I disagree...this album and Heaven And Hell have a lot of great songs.

Been there done that...I was 15 at the time. Good ol' days.
One of the best Dio/Sabbath songs ever. IMO. ✌
Jay Hardwick one of the best Sabbath songs period. Hell, one of the greatest heavy metal songs ever written.
Try JOHNNY BLADE and JUNIOR"S EYES from the album NEVER SAY DIE you could call Jazzsabbath
One of the best under rated too. Mob Rules is a good song but this one puts it to shame.
I agree with one of the best Sabbath songs. I love the way they sneak it on you.
The baddest, heaviest metal riff of all time!
Definitely one of the best Dio-era Sabbath songs 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼😂
Sergio Davila Calling this one of the best Dio-era Sabbath songs is selling it criminally short. This is one of best metal songs ever written period.
Dale Cary I definitely agree...I’m just compartmentalizing the eras of Sabbath.but hell yeah....one of my top 10 metal songs. 🤘🏼🔥🤘🏼🔥🤘🏼🔥
Falling off the edge of the world is an absolute must from this album!
One of the greatest riffs composed by human beings...
My favorite Sabbath song, and quite possibly their most underrated song.
Sabbath ' s slow metal has no equal. Powerful, Atmospheric very well structured, lots of dynamics , Super powerful voice of Dio and musicians in their prime !
i agree!
Unmistakable Dio era Sabbath. Mob Rules was a monster and arguably Iommi's best ever guitar work. RJD was and always will be a GOD.
I love this man's voice.
Ronnie James Dio!!! (RIP, Amen)
What that first riff explodes, it makes all the fur stand up straight, every time. You should have heard it live. Goes right through you.
Fur? You some kind of cat

Two sabbath songs in one night I must be dreaming 😅
The tone of Ronnies vocals and Tonys guitar is on point!!
Thank you for playing this! It had fallen way off my radar and I hadn't heard it for at least 20 years. What a masterpiece!
Absolutely one of my favorite Black Sabbath - Dio era songs! Thanks a million for reacting to this! This is one rocking channel....best I've seen yet!
One of their greatest songs!
Black Sabbath with Dio was absolutely awesome.
#BlackSabbath - Die Young, Slovenia.
This song contains some of Sabbath's nastiest riffs. My favorite.

You two found a true GEM with this one. Awesome reaction as usual. Love the channel.

This song hits me on soo many levels , reminds me of how awesome the "Mob Rules" album is..

I like how this song builds up and Tony puts down what i feel is his greatest solo. Thunder. It's Bluesy.
#BlackSabbath - Falling Off The Edge Of The World - Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Oh, I totally agree with that one!!
Killer!!! I mean killer!!
One of the best lines.... "Gather around the young ones, they will make us strong" so true.

They don't do #painintheask anymore...and band name is #BlackSabbath good luck
One of my all time favs,,,RIP Dio \m/
This song has a lot of soul, tinged with a bit of mysticism. It is one of the most intense Sabbath songs of either era.
the absolute apex of Sabbath's career, period.
The transition is awesome!
Saw them on this tour and it was epic.
If I could pick any 1 Sabbath album from their entire career, it would be this one.
great song, brings me back to my youth, yes it is RJD. the second album before he went solo. this one and heaven & hell. two awesome albums after Ozzy.
