Hi Sarah
When you are in Bangkok, you can go to Mo Chit Bus Station and find a ticket to Udonthani
Its about 7 and a half hours by bus to the Northeast of Thailand
But its not a year round you can visit this place, check it before you go
By the way there 2 lakes like this in Thailand, another one is at the south. Both are beautiful
